Chapter 909 - 909 One after another event 2
Chapter 909: One after another event 2 Chapter 909: One after another event 2 After the meal, with a feeling of satisfaction in her belly, Amelia Wilson felt her mood improving as well.
Just then, Amelia received a call from her sister.
“Ava, have you been keeping something from me?” Victoria Garcia asked with concern.
Upon hearing this, Amelia smiled and said, “Sis, what could I possibly hide from you? Oh, I just hid the fact that I ate braised spare ribs from you, does that count?”
Victoria knew Amelia very well, the more nonchalant Amelia acted, the more certain it was that something had happened.
“Your name has been all over the news lately, and it doesn’t seem like something in line with your character.”
Hearing her older sister say this, Amelia wished she could shed a couple of tears immediately. “Only my sister truly knows me. Of course, I wouldn’t do such things. It’s just that recently, some people in the film crew are jealous of my good looks and are playing petty tricks. These things, if ignored, will blow over after a few days. Speaking through our work is the most persuasive.”
All of this sounded indeed reassuring.
Yet Victoria still questioned with doubt, “Ava, are you really okay?”
“Sis, I’m really fine. As a star, this kind of situation is quite normal. Besides, my company said that we don’t need to bother with this kind of thing, and in a few days, a news report of me diligently filming will clear everything up.”
Victoria held the phone, wondering if she was overthinking and worrying too much about her sisters getting into trouble.
The disappearance of Hannah Garcia to this day made Victoria particularly sensitive.
“Any news of Harriet?” Amelia asked.
Victoria was silent for two seconds before responding, “Not yet.”
Both of them fell silent.
After a few more words, they hung up the phone.
Amelia’s mood once again grew heavy. She concealed all that had suddenly befallen her, truly not wanting her sister to worry anymore.
Victoria already had too much on her mind: the company, Arnold Johnson, and Hannah. If she had to divide more attention here, it would be extremely taxing.
So, without overthinking, Amelia picked up the script and continued to memorize it. She aimed to nail every scene in one take, to portray the female lead’s complex emotions to perfection, beyond criticism.
Even if the female supporting role had stolen many of her scenes, she would still strive to outperform with her acting skills and beauty.
Laura watched the diligent and hardworking Amelia quietly back out of the room.
As soon as she stepped out, she received a call from Rose Madam inquiring about Amelia’s situation.
Laura did not keep anything from her, telling Rose Madam about the incidents that had occurred in the past few days and Amelia’s attitude towards them.
“Then keep a close watch, and if anything strange happens, you need to tell me right away,” Rose Madam instructed. “Also, wherever Amelia is, you stay with her; don’t give others the chance to take advantage, understand?”
“Rose Madam, rest assured, even if it’s to the restroom, from now on I will follow Sister Ava and won’t leave her side for half a step,” Laura promised, patting her chest.
The incident with being locked in the restroom for three hours was obviously intentional.
Rose Madam felt it was necessary to look into who Amelia had offended or perhaps consult with Henry Campbell.
Thinking this, Rose Madam hung up the phone and immediately contacted Henry Campbell. She wanted to know his current stance towards Amelia.
Once the upper management made a statement, she would then be sure whether to step in and help Amelia.
