Chapter 901 - 901 My Love Rival is in the Next Door
Chapter 901: My Love Rival is in the Next Door Chapter 901: My Love Rival is in the Next Door Arnold Johnson’s relationship with Victoria Garcia hadn’t changed because of Hannah Garcia’s situation.
Of course, Victoria was grateful to him in her heart for his involvement in the matter, but that was a separate issue. Gratitude didn’t mean they had to start living together again.
On a workday morning, as Victoria opened the door of her room, the door of the room next to hers also opened, and a familiar figure emerged, greeting her, “Victoria, long time no see!”
“You… how come you’re here?” Victoria asked in surprise.
Edward Hernandez flipped his hair with a smile and said, “I live right next to you.”
“Didn’t you buy a villa? Why are you living here now? When did this happen?” Victoria asked, puzzled.
With sincere honesty, Edward replied, “I occasionally stay at the villa, but this place has more of a community feel. From now on, whenever I’m off work and have nowhere to eat, I can come here to freeload off your dinner. Isn’t that great?”
It was as if Victoria would never refuse.
When did they become so close?
“Oh, I need to head to work now,” Victoria quickly changed the subject.
Edward said with a smile, “I’m also going to work, and we’re headed the same way. Let’s go together.”
With that said, of course, Victoria had no reason to refuse.
But then, Edward brazenly added, “Victoria, could I bum a ride off you for a while?”
“Don’t you have your own car?” Victoria’s subtext was clear. If you have your own car, why do you need to hitch rides with others?
Edward immediately responded with a pained smile, “My car was damaged in an accident and it’s being repaired. It will probably take another week or two before it gets returned to me.”
“…”
Could it really be such a coincidence?
“Just consider it as helping someone who is temporarily without a car. In return, I’ll take you out for a big meal, treat you to a meal every day, how about that?” Edward said shamelessly with a grin.
Who wants your big meal!
Victoria replied, “I can drive you to your company if it’s on the way, but we can skip the big meal.”
“I knew you were the best, Victoria,” Edward unabashedly praised. “Capable, beautiful, passionate, and kind. You are the best woman I’ve met in Metropolis.”
“Enough already, there’s no need for such flattery just because I’m giving you a lift.”
“I’m not flattering you. I’m telling the truth,” Edward said, walking beside her.
After they got into the car, Edward’s gaze had not left Victoria.
Victoria, driving, started to feel awkward and retorted, “If you keep staring at me like that, I’ll throw you out.”
“Don’t be like that. I’m just appreciating your beauty a bit more, there’s no need to be so heartless,” he teased.
“Even if I look good, do you expect to find flowers on my face?” Victoria fired back again. “It’s impolite to stare at someone like that.”
“Staring at someone you like isn’t impolite, I think it’s a sign of respect for the person you like,” Edward took the opportunity to say.
Upon hearing this, Victoria nearly slammed on the brakes.
“Edward Hernandez, you’d better not say things like that in the future, or we can’t even be friends,” Victoria replied, cutting him off sharply.
Undeterred, Edward pressed, “Why? You’re not married, and I’m not married, it’s perfect. I have the right to pursue you.”
“And I have the right to reject you.”
“But I also have the right to keep pursuing you until you agree,” Edward said earnestly and persistently.
