Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 796 - 796 A fleeting glance

Chapter 796: A fleeting glance Chapter 796: A fleeting glance When Ava got up the next morning, she felt her body burning with fever, and her head splitting with pain, as if she was about to die.

Last night, after Victoria left with Arnold Johnson, she stood alone on the balcony for a long time, feeling the night breeze.

That must have given her a cold.

When Laura, her assistant, came over and saw Ava’s red face, she was shocked. She touched Ava’s forehead and almost withdrew her hand because it was so hot.

“Oh my gosh, Sister Ava, you have a fever. I’ll take you to the hospital right away.” Laura put down what she was holding, grabbed a jacket, and draped it over Ava, preparing to take her to the hospital.

Though Ava was feverish and confused, she knew she was wearing pajamas.

“Laura, are you really going to make me go to the hospital looking like this? What if the paparazzi catch me looking so pathetic?”

Only then did Laura realize her mistake and quickly got Ava’s clothes from the wardrobe.

After a bit of a scramble, Ava looked at herself in a green floral dress, which didn’t seem to have any spring vibe at all. It rather made her look like a country bumpkin!

“Laura, are you sure you’re not ruining my image?”

“Sister Ava, don’t worry, you’re so pretty that anything you wear will look good on you, really!” Laura swore she was telling the truth, though lately, Ava had looked a bit pale and haggard, and her face seemed smaller.

That only made her look better on camera.

Ava really doubted Laura’s taste. Her red hot face paired with the green dress just looked strange.

Decisively, she chose a black skirt, and a thick coat, because she felt so cold.

“Sister Ava, it’s really hot outside today.” Laura kindly reminded her.

Ava felt she was so much smarter than Laura at this point.

“Laura, I’m a patient right now, and I’m cold!” With that, Ava put on a hat and sunglasses and walked out.

Upon realizing the situation, Laura quickly followed, “Sister Ava, let me help you!”

At least she’s somewhat clever.

In less than a quarter of an hour, Ava entered the famous private hospital in Metropolis.

The advantage of a private hospital is that it’s less crowded, and more secure.

Laura quickly registered, and Ava entered the consulting room.

The doctor began to examine her and found out that her temperature was a high 40 degrees!

Ava was shocked for a while. She hadn’t been sick for so many years. She didn’t expect to have such a severe fever when it happened.

Because her fever was so high, the doctor gave her an IV drip.

Ava sat on the hospital bed, resting with her eyes closed, while Laura guarded her.

“Sister Ava, our company has been going through so many things lately. I never thought Henry Campbell would be the Crown Prince of the company, let alone marrying Bella Lee, the young Miss of the Lee family!”

Laura said excitedly and gossipy, “Oh my gosh, it’s like a total reversal of fortune! He’s gone from being just an agent to the Crown Prince and son-in-law of the Lee family.”

“I heard that when this news came out, the company’s stock price didn’t fall, but actually rose! Can you imagine how much wealth Henry has now? It’s just unbelievable!”

Looking at Laura gossiping excitedly, Ava mustered all her strength to tell her, “Shut your mouth, and let me sleep for a bit.”

Ava didn’t want to hear anything about Henry and Bella. To her, every word felt like a piercing noise in her ear!
