Chapter 750 - 750 Discussing the wedding date 3
Chapter 750: Discussing the wedding date 3 Chapter 750: Discussing the wedding date 3 Elder Campbell scoffed, “With your looks, appearance, and background, those female artists must have been throwing themselves at you one after another. Why bother staying in the Entertainment Circle? It’d be much stronger for them to hook up with you and marry into a wealthy family.”
“Just look at your current female artist Amelia Wilson, she’s flirting with the Reed Family’s second son, never outright rejecting him. Why? You know why.”
Henry Campbell just listened quietly, knowing that saying anything in front of Elder Campbell would be in vain.
Moreover, what Elder Campbell said was true.
Amelia Wilson, yes, she told him that she never intended to marry Robert Taylor, but their ambiguous relationship still lingered messily.
Her vanity had always been apparent to Henry Campbell.
However, some things just couldn’t be explained.
Seeing Henry Campbell fall silent, Elder Campbell softened his tone, saying: “Previously, the Lee Family may have opposed Bella marrying you, but now your status is different, and their objection won’t be as strong. Bella has also hinted that she’s waiting for your proposal, and it seems the Lee Family has accepted you.”
“As long as the wife you marry isn’t someone you hate, feelings can be cultivated, and love can grow over time. So, I hope you give both the company and yourself a chance.”
Elder Campbell tirelessly tried to persuade his son, speaking more today than he had in the past year combined.
“What do you have in mind regarding your mother’s situation?” Elder Campbell suddenly changed the subject.
Henry Campbell looked up at Elder Campbell and said, “I don’t want to interfere in you two’s matters, you can decide for yourselves.”
Mentioning his mother, Elder Campbell’s expression darkened, “In fact, I thought about giving your mother a title over these years, but I feel stifled. Both of my previous wives died like this, I don’t know if it’s heaven preventing me from having a wife.”
An unbeliever now believed in this, showing his fear.
Henry Campbell just listened, not interrupting.
In recent years, Elder Campbell had been living with Henry’s mother, Vanessa Turner, and their relationship was indistinguishable from a married couple. Whether they got married or not had no effect on Henry.
Thus, Elder Campbell didn’t use the promise of a title for his mother to manipulate Henry.
As father and son concluded their conversation, Bella Lee and Vanessa Turner walked in.
The two chatted and laughed as they approached.
“Hello, Uncle Campbell.” Bella Lee greeted Elder Campbell with a sweet smile.
“Khloe, stay for dinner tonight.” Elder Lee enthusiastically invited her.
Bella Lee replied with a smile, “Sure, I love Aunt Taylor’s braised pork.”
“Alright, Aunt Taylor will make you braised pork tonight, eat as much as you want.” Vanessa Turner said with a smile.
Bella Lee treated Vanessa Turner well, and Vanessa Turner liked Bella. They got along and sometimes acted as close as mother and daughter.
This friendliness was genuine, not a facade.
Vanessa Turner never pressured Henry but frequently advised him to minimize the harm to Bella if he didn’t love her. She would feel even more distressed seeing Bella in pain.
As a son, how could he bear to make his mother suffer?
