“Second Miss, please have mercy on me… you know my least favourite chore is washing dishes. How about I mop the floor tomorrow instead?”

And so the bargaining began.

Amelia and Hannah argued over the chore for a good time, with Hannah eventually conceding defeat.

Because she had never washed dishes, not even once.

“All of you are property owners, bullying me – just a delicate flower. Even as the winter snow falls and we celebrate the New Year, you make the youngest sister bear the cold to wash dishes. How do you sleep at night, knowing that shame?”

“Don’t worry, Hannah,” Amelia couldn’t stifle her amusement, “I intend to eat an extra bowl tomorrow to make it worth your effort.”

In that moment, the atmosphere in the room felt harmonious and festive!

When all four sisters gathered for a chat, Victoria addressed her younger sisters, “I’ve bought an apartment. After this year, we can move into our new home. Would you like to?”

“Sis, we love you! We all love you!”

“Let’s keep this old house. Whenever you want to revisit, feel free to do so. As for the new place, I will provide each of you a key. Each of you will have your own room. Consider it a New Year gift,” she said.

“Wow, Sis, we love you!”

“Also, regarding our inheritance, the company’s shares bequeathed by our grandparents—it’s not only mine, it’s all of ours. I currently hold 60% of the shares, but I want to distribute my share amongst you. From now on, you’ll all be shareholders of the company, entitled to annual dividends. Consider this your private property,” Victoria revealed with a grin.

Amelia’s mouth fell open in disbelief, “Sis, that’s incredibly generous and selfless! Even though our grandparents left it, it was you who fought tooth and nail to regain it for us. Even if you hadn’t shared it with us, it’d be perfectly reasonable. I may love money, but having more or less of it doesn’t make much difference to me; it’s as inconsequential as taking on another acting role, so honestly, I don’t mind either way.”
