Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 675 - 675 Advance by retreating

Chapter 675: Advance by retreating Chapter 675: Advance by retreating After taking care of some company matters, Arnold Johnson had originally planned to have dinner with Victoria Garcia at home, but unexpectedly received a call from Grand Lady Johnson, asking him to return to the old villa.

Although he didn’t want to go back to the Johnson Old Mansion, Grand Lady Johnson’s tone was unusually calm and gentle, so he went to see what was the matter this time.

When he arrived at the Johnson Old Mansion, it was dinnertime, and the dining table was filled with various dishes, including several of his favorite ones.

“Arnold, it’s been a long time since our family has had dinner together. Today is a rare occasion, let’s sit down and have a casual meal.” Grand Lady Johnson said in a peaceful tone.

Samantha Powell and Frank Johnson were both surprised by Grand Lady Johnson’s calm and peaceful tone.

However, this rare relaxation made Frank very happy, and he also arranged: “Arnold, come and sit down. I’ll have a drink with you later!”

Seeing Frank’s happy and excited look, Samantha couldn’t help but say, “You’ve only recently recovered from your injury, you can’t drink alcohol yet.”

“Mom, I won’t drink that much. It’s just a small amount, it won’t matter.” Frank replied nonchalantly.

Grand Lady Johnson also rarely chimed in: “Today is indeed a special day. Drinking a little is fine, but don’t overdo it.”

“Thank you, Grandma. I know my limits and won’t mess around.” After saying this, Frank showed a beaming smile.

This dinner was unusually peaceful and warm.

During the meal, Arnold and Frank shared a few drinks, and the atmosphere was harmonious and joyful.

Grand Lady Johnson looked at the scene and thought that if only Chloe was there too, how perfect it would be. The fleeting sadness was quickly suppressed by her.

Her purpose today was simple – to persuade Arnold to come back.

About an hour later, dinner came to an end. Once the servants had cleaned up and served some desserts and fruits, they left the room.

Grand Lady Johnson finally brought up the main issue, “Today is a rare good day, and there are some things I want to clarify in front of you all.”

“Mom, just tell us what you want to say, and we’ll listen.” Samantha was the first to express her stance.

Frank also chimed in, “Yes, Grandma, just say it, we are all ears.”

Grand Lady Johnson looked at Arnold, and he knew she was waiting for his response.

“Well, please say it.” Arnold replied calmly.

He was not the kind of person who was cold without reason. As long as everyone could get along peacefully, he would naturally respond in kind.

This peaceful atmosphere had been missing for a long time. Ever since Christopher Johnson’s death, Arnold rarely felt peace in this home. All he experienced was ridicule and coercion, which he really resented.

“In these days, I’ve been thinking a lot. Many things that I couldn’t understand before have become clear to me. I am getting old, and I may not have many years left.” Grand Lady Johnson said, genuinely touched, and her eyes revealed a rare sense of peace and tranquility.

“Mom, don’t think too much about these things. We are still counting on you for holding your great-grandchildren.”

“Yeah, Grandma, you must stay healthy. When I get married, I’ll have my wife bear you many great-grandsons and great-granddaughters.” Frank teased Grand Lady Johnson on the side.

All of this seemed harmonious and joyful, and Grand Lady Johnson felt happy hearing these words.
