Clara could understand Mia’s sentiment, but wasn’t she, as the mother, also in pain? Did she want things to turn out this way?

She admitted that for money, she could do anything. But just because she was driven by money didn’t mean she was throwing Mia into a bottomless pit; she was just pushing Mia toward a higher position.
