Chapter 1098: I might be about to die 2 Chapter 1098: I might be about to die 2 Just as Grayson Thomas was about to hang up the phone, he heard Hannah Garcia on the other end with a faint crying voice. This voice was not feigned; it even carried a sense of fear.
“God, I might really be going to die, but before I do, I want to tell you that everything I said to you before, I meant it. If I really die, remember to buy a bunch of my favorite Happiness Flowers and visit my grave. That way, I’ll know you came to see me,” Hannah Garcia said, as tears streamed down her face.
The sound of the time bomb continued to tick tock.
Grayson Thomas slightly furrowed his brows. He was as sensitive to sounds as he was to numbers, and he quickly made out the sound of a time bomb, aside from Victoria’s voice.
“Where are you now?” Grayson Thomas asked directly.
Hannah Garcia said, “I’m at the company, but I’ve already decided not to see you for the last time. Let’s just leave it at this.”
Before Hannah Garcia hung up the phone, she made sure to emphasize one last time, “God, remember to buy a bunch of my beloved Happiness Flowers and visit my grave. Goodbye!”
After stressing her last point, Hannah Garcia had her bodyguard hang up the phone.
Watching Hannah Garcia, tearful like a pear blossom in the rain, the bodyguard comforted her, “Missy, don’t worry. There are 28 minutes left before the bomb explodes. The bomb disposal expert should only need ten minutes to get here, leaving eighteen minutes to spare. You will definitely be rescued.”
“Are you sure? I’ve seen a lot of bomb disposal experts, and it takes them at least half an hour to defuse a bomb.” Hannah Garcia couldn’t help but become pessimistic.
Real life isn’t like TV shows or movies, where the male lead always disarms the bomb strapped to the female lead in the last few seconds, and then they embrace happily.
“But with a skilled bomb disposal expert, it might only take three minutes or even one or two minutes to get it done.” Of course, such bomb disposal experts aren’t easy to come by.
Hannah Garcia felt this really depended on luck now.
“If I really die, tell Jolson to find out who the hell did this and remember to burn a piece of paper to inform me,” Hannah Garcia said pessimistically. “I bet it’s that bitch Chloe Johnson or that scumbag Harry Collins. I’ve only offended the two of them; who else would be so bored as to try to blow me up?”
Hannah Garcia thought that if she died, the ones who stood to gain the most would be Harry Collins and Chloe Johnson.
“Missy, you’re not going to die. Jolson will definitely send the best bomb disposal expert to save you,” the bodyguard said confidently.
Yet, Hannah Garcia asked, “You’ve been with me for a month, and I still don’t know your name. What is it?”
After all, before she died, she should thank the man who had been working hard to protect her.
“Missy, you can just call me Kevin King,” he replied.
Kevin King! Kevin King!
Hannah Garcia took a careful look at him. Kevin King didn’t look like a foreigner, yet he had a foreign name. Was this Jolson’s directive?
Time passed quickly, yet also slowly.
Ten minutes went by, but the bomb disposal expert hadn’t arrived. What was going on?
“Kevin King, why hasn’t the bomb disposal expert arrived yet?” Hannah Garcia grew even more anxious. This was a matter of life and death, not a joking matter.
Kevin King didn’t know why either, but then his phone rang—it was a call from Jolson.
On the phone, Jolson said that the bomb disposal expert’s car was stuck in traffic. A helicopter had already been dispatched, and he instructed Kevin King to keep Hannah Garcia stable.
Upon learning this, Hannah Garcia almost collapsed to the ground…
