Chapter 1079: two bars Chapter 1079: two bars Originally, when Mia Garcia saw Harry Collins, her enthusiasm and joy were instantly extinguished after he suddenly slapped her twice.

“What now, still glaring at me? Regretful? The title of Collins’ Third Madam isn’t satisfying your needs?” Harry Collins was like an enraged stray dog, seemingly ready to bite anyone he encountered.

Mia indeed glared, her eyes filled with anger and surprise.

“Husband, did something upsetting happen to you? If you’re unhappy, you can talk about it,” Mia was desperately suppressing her own rage because she knew she wasn’t in a position to be angry with Harry Collins, no matter how mad or furious she felt, she couldn’t show it in front of him.

Harry Collins grabbed her chin forcefully, venting his anger on Mia, “They say a barking dog never bites, but are you perhaps a silent dog that bites behind people’s backs?”

Two tears squeezed out of Mia’s eyes as she spoke in pain, “Husband, my feelings for you are genuine, even now when we have a shared interest, I still want to live well with you.”

“Mia Garcia, if I don’t end up with anything good, your fate will certainly be worse than mine.”

Mia twisted her face, which had become distorted by his grip, and said, “Husband, of course, I understand, so no matter what happens, I will listen to you and stand by your side.”

Mia’s forbearance and eagerness to please quenched some of Harry Collins’s fire, but when he let go of her, the force was still so strong that Mia fell backwards. If she hadn’t promptly fallen back toward the sofa, she would have ended up on the floor.

“Husband, can you please not be so harsh on me in the future?” Mia said softly.

Looking at her like that, Harry Collins couldn’t help but flare up again, yelling at her furiously, “Not be harsh with you, so I should be nice to you?”

Harry Collins hadn’t the slightest intention of pretending in front of Mia; only when he could take off his mask and vent his anger did he feel relieved.

“Then… then could you consider that I’m now carrying a child…”

Mia’s fragile words were not yet finished when Harry Collins’s furious expression immediately changed, he asked in shock, “Mia Garcia, say that again? You’re saying you have a child? Repeat it, quick!”

Seeing Harry Collins’s such eagerness, Mia finally felt a sense of presence, saying with joy, “Husband, I think I’m pregnant.”

“What do you mean ‘you think’? Haven’t you seen a doctor for a check-up?”

Seeing that he was about to get angry again, Mia said aggrievedly, “You told me before that if I got pregnant, I should say it’s a test-tube baby. How could I rashly see a doctor? With my current status, if someone found out, wouldn’t it create a flaw in your plan?”

Hearing Mia say this, Harry Collins’s flickering rage calmed down again.

Regardless, this child was something he had been longing for; with a child, everything would be negotiable.

“So the pregnancy is absolutely certain?”

Mia replied, “I tested with a pregnancy test, it showed two lines, although one line was faint. I did some research, and it’s because the baby has just been conceived, so it’s faint, but there’s a ninety-nine percent chance I’m pregnant.”
