Chapter 79: What the hell?!

’What the hell?’

This one thought rang in Lukas’ mind again and again, as he passively observed the degree of control his new cultivation gave him.

The mana that previously moved sluggishly, forcing him to put in an extra effort just to get it going, not to speak about actually using it for something, has now turned extremely fast.

Or maybe it wasn’t the mana, but the shape of his cultivation?

Created by the sliver of his master’s mana pointing the way and pushed by the near endless mana coming from the formation, Lukas’ new internal structure appeared to accelerate the mana to some unbelievable degree while also granting a much easier, smoother control over it.

Even though the marks of Lukas’ structure still lacked the elements to classify as anything above measly second stage!

The fact that his master’s method somehow allowed him to skip the first phase of cultivation altogether was a whole other topic!

From the very moment Lukas gained the ability to sense mana through his new cultivation, its form was already finished. And within that form now coursed the currents that Lukas would struggle to control even all the way back at the peak of his strength a few weeks back!

’And it’s not stopping.’

At this point, Lukas started to slowly lose his ability to even be surprised by anything. It was as if adding his master to the equation validated any result, whether possible or not.

And the mana... It just continued to flow in, filling the gap within Lukas’ cultivation as soon as the existing momentum within it would suck recently absorbed energy deeper into his system. It was a process that didn’t stop all the way until mana filled every nook and cranny of his form... and then continued to fill him up even more.

Left with no space to inject more mana into, Lukas’ cultivation started to accelerate its flow instead, only increasing the rate at which it sucked even more and more of the mana.

A vicious cycle that only ever increased the speed of Lukas’ cultivation, all the way to a point where the balance finally broke, forcing carefully selected elements of his form to start bloating up.

With the overwhelming rate of cultivation, it wasn’t just one or two of those points that started to swell, but all of them did all at once. And as those points swelled up more and more, their rate of growth finally started to slow down to a more manageable level.

Yet, as those points grew bigger, they started to affect the very flow that created them.

’What the hell...?!’ Lukas cried internally as he saw what was happening. ’Voluntary Meridian Expansion?! So it can actually happen?!’

’What the hell?!’ Tesh could only grit her teeth as she realized the significance of her structure swelling up.

She’d only heard about it once or twice, but in some legends, when one’s cultivation reached perfection, their meridians could pop out all on their own, only requiring the cultivator to properly fill them with mana.

A feat only the best of the best could ever achieve, and while already following a divine-grade cultivation technique!

So how come her meridians were not only bloating up all on their own, pushing her steadily towards the higher realm of cultivation, all the while filling in with mana?

How come she could just sit down, let that enigma of a man touch her back a little and then, after a period of enduring the slight discomfort of watching her whole cultivation vanish, suddenly receive epiphanies on the level unheard of even in legends?!

Amidst all of this, however, there was one more point that drew Tesh’s attention.

A point where Theo’s hand gently pressed down against the exposed skin of her back, radiating warmth, assurance, a sense of safety... And the energy that, quite literally, rearranged her insides in her master’s shape.

The very moment she first thought about it, Tesh recalled the sensation of being pinned against the wall, with the raging currents of mana flaring in Theo’s eyes.

Earlier, she couldn’t understand it, the weird sensation that she vaguely noticed.

But now that she practiced in Theo’s image, the way the mana stirred around her, eagerly rushing to fill her up through every orifice of her body and even sinking into her through her skin?

Now, she finally understood what that feeling was back then. The weird sensation of being fully overwhelmed by the other not through physical means, but by the residual flow of their own mana overwhelming the weaker party.

The memory of that day resurfaced in her head again.

Theo’s hand effortlessly lifting her up by her wrist and holding her up against the wall. The way her legs powerlessly weighed her down, her knees too soft to mount any sort of defense. And then, Theo’s mesmerizing, mana-filled gaze...

A weird sensation started to grow down in the pit of Tesh’s stomach, only to explode with intensity as she felt another surge of her teacher’s essence, now changing its purpose from guidance as it reinforced the channels through which she absorbed mana...

Only for a fresh and potent wave of the energy to nearly pin the girl down to the ground with its overwhelming pressure.

"Ah!" Celeste twitched when Tesh suddenly moaned out, only to fall forward on her face with Theo making no attempt to catch her.

’What the hell?! What is he...?!’

Instinctively, Celeste nearly rushed out to scold him for being such a heartless teacher, allowing his students to potentially hurt themselves for no reason...

Only to then squat back down as she could do nothing but observe as Theo continued to invoke magic that was so unreal, it had to break at least a dozen taboos!

It had to, and yet... Celeste couldn’t find even a single mistake, a single misdeed, a single angle through which she could chastise Theo. In fact, judging by how rapidly the cultivation of his disciples recovered, she would be the one to be blamed if she dared to interrupt such an important process!

And so, Celeste was stuck doing nothing but observing, giving her the opportunity to see how, even with his hands now parting from Tesh’s back, he still held on to the magical connection between the two, now established not through Theo’s physical body but through a channel of condensed mana he stretched from the palm of his hand to the exact spot on Tesh’s back that he pressed his palm against before.

Poop.

To the side, equally as overwhelmed, Lukas silently fell down too, too busy focusing on his inner world to care about what happened to his body in reality.

And through all of this, with the raging currents of mana streaking all over the place only to be then slowly absorbed into the formation... All Theo did was sit still as he was, keep watch over his disciples and, for some reason, refuse to cultivate himself at all.

A choice that left Celeste baffled, given how she could easily measure the enormous amount of mana contained within the formation, easily sufficient to help her push from rank sixth to rank seventh with ease!

And if such was the case, just why would Theo, appearing to be merely rank four, maybe five, opt not to partake in a cultivation feast all around him?
