Chapter 39: Alexander’s Pov: I Want You To Be My Sugar Baby

Alexander watched as Maxim looked at him while he was talking to Fred.

They had already finished discussing the books Alexander had ordered and were on their way to eat since it was way too late for lunch, and he invited Maxim.

"He’s really cute," Alexander muttered as he waved at Maxim, urging him to move fast.

Maxim ran to Alexander with a cautious glance.

"Ah, that was fast. I thought you’d be taking a while," Alexander stated, grinning at Maxim. "It makes me happy."

Alexander blurted out the last sentence out of nowhere. He actually thought about it, but his mouth decided to speak it out loud.

’Sh*t! I hope Maxim doesn’t take it creepily!’ Alexander thought, biting his lips in frustration. He kept his cool and acted as if it was nothing, but deep inside, he was embarrassed.

"Let’s go," Alexander said, gesturing for Maxim to follow. It was his way of turning the topic elsewhere. "There’s this restaurant I pass by, and I think they have delicious dishes."

"I see," Maxim nodded, staying behind Alexander as he followed him.

Alexander glanced at Maxim and noticed his cautious demeanor, but he shrugged it off. For him, he was delighted to smell Maxim’s scent and wondered if his smell would stick to his robe.

When they arrived at the restaurant, there were barely any people inside. Alexander chose the place because it looked humble enough to hide his status and wealth.

Alexander wanted Maxim to see him as a regular wolf before he could strike.

"Let’s eat here, and don’t worry; it’s my treat," Alexander smiled cheerfully as he went inside. He sat down in the corner so nobody could disturb them since he wanted Maxim to start becoming comfortable in his presence.

Alexander sat on the seat and noticed Maxim was still standing. "Have a seat, don’t be shy," he stated, gesturing for Maxim to sit before him.

Maxim complied and sat comfortably. He grabbed the menu, which was already beside the table.

’Look at him scanning the menu. How adorable,’ Alexander thought with a smile. He could look at Maxim all day as if he were in a reverie.

Then, a thought flashed in Alexander’s mind. ’I want to know if he finds me attractive too, as I do to him!’

Without a second thought, Alexander removed his hood. "Ah, it’s a hot day today," he excused, wiping his nonexistent sweat with a handkerchief.

"Oh," Maxim muttered.

Alexander could see Maxim was staring at his face. It made him a bit shy, but he remained as nonchalant as possible.

’Those eyes. I knew he finds me adorable too!’ Alexander thought, celebrating a small victory in his mind.

"Is there something wrong?" Alexander asked, smirking as he looked at Maxim’s complete stare on his face.

"No, I apologize," Maxim flinched and apologized. He grabbed the menu and used it to cover his face.

’Oh my! His actions make me want to pinch his cheeks!’ Alexander thought, seeing flowers forming around Maxim’s head while his face remained stoic.

What do you want to order, Sir Alex?" Maxim asked, avoiding Alexander’s gaze.

"I’ll just have a simple meal," Alexander replied, leaning against his arm on the table. His eyes darted intently at Maxim since he liked how he reacted.

Also, Alexander didn’t want to eat the food from the restaurant since he wasn’t sure how clean the food was made there. He was afraid to get a temporary stomach infection if he digested new bacteria in his body.

"Then I’ll order the same... wait, are you really paying for it, Sir?" Maxim asked timidly.

"Yes, that’s what I said," Alexander replied, gesturing toward the waiter who was already waiting for them.

The waiter arrived and took their orders. Alexander couldn’t help but notice how Maxim kept calling him ’Sir,’ and somehow, he disliked it. He felt it was unnecessary at all.

"Anyways... can you not call me Sir? I don’t like it," Alexander expressed nicely.

"Then, what should I call you?" Maxim asked.

"Just Alex. I prefer it that way," Alexander replied, winking at Maxim. He knew he was handsome, and his face card affected Maxim’s heart.

However, Alexander was stunned when Maxim showed a flat expression. He felt he was stabbed in the heart.

"Alright... just Alex," Maxim said slowly, his tone wary.

Alexander’s hand shivered under his robe. ’Did Maxim just reject my wink!’ he thought in disbelief. He took a deep breath to calm himself.

"See? That wasn’t so hard. We’re just two people having a meal. No need for all that extra stuff," Alexander grinned in response, but he was dying inside.

After several minutes of awkward silence, the waiter finally arrived and placed the foot before them.

"Dig in," Alexander chirped as he picked up his utensils. He looked at the food on his plate and was revolted by it. He glanced at Maxim, who was already eating his share.

"This is... really good," Maxim muttered delightfully.

Alexander’s eyes widened when he saw Maxim’s facial expression, and he wondered if the food was that good.

"You’re cute," Alexander whispered. His brain was in a trance, and he clamored his thoughts again.

"Huh, what did you say?" Maxim asked as he didn’t hear what Alexander had said.

"Oh, nothing. I’m glad you like it. You should indulge more often, you know," Alexander replied, taking a bite even though he wanted to puke it out.

Alexander’s eyes widened when the flavor burst on his tongue. ’This is delicious. No wonder Maxim liked this,’ he thought and met Maxim’s gaze.

Alexander’s thoughts circulated as they began their conversation about money and Maxim’s struggle to earn it. He never understood the concept of getting hungry after not working for a day, but he sympathized with Maxim.

However, Alexander remembered Maxim working in a club. He always hated the idea that Maxim was meeting other wolves than him.

Then, Alexander got an idea. ’If I’ll be able to pay Maxim more than the money he earns from the club. Then maybe he will stop working there,’ he thought, wanting to gamble.

Alexander stared at Maxim, tilting his head. "I want you to be my sugar baby."
