Chapter 38: Alexander’s Pov: Seeing Him Again

"Those motherf*ckers!" Alexander gritted his teeth in anger. He closed the door behind him in a loud stud as his body shook from too much rage boiling inside his blood. "Selfish, greedy geezers!"

Alexander threw the papers in his hand and kicked the nearby table, causing the vase to fall and break.

"Your Highness!" Noa called outside the door. He followed Alexander after seeing him not in good condition.

"Leave, Noa!" Alexander shouted. His voice boomed in his office.

Noa flinched in fear and fell backward. He wanted to ease Alexander’s stress but was afraid of getting hurt.

"Yes, Your Highness," Noa walked away quickly but made sure to station guards nearby if Alexander decided to run wild.

Alexander sat on the sofa of his office. He leaned back and stared at the ceiling while trying to calm himself.

"How dare they suggest me to kill my own father to get the throne!" Alexander whispered, growing. He remembered the sadistic faces of the councils as they tried to persuade him to agree to their plan.

"Hah... Should I kill their sons for them to know how it feels to lose a loved one," Alexander continued. His eyes softened at the thought of his mother.

Alexander tilted his head to where his clock was located. "2:30... I should go," he murmured.

The meeting between Alexander and the council was so chaotic that it reached the afternoon without any of them noticing the time, and they hadn’t eaten lunch.

The councils kept persuading Alexander to advance his royal title and become the King instead since he was already doing the job. They wouldn’t let Alexander leave until they got an agreement from him.

However, Alexander remained firm in his choice to remain a Crown Prince until his father stepped down from the throne himself.

"I wonder if they finished the job," Alexander muttered, referring to the bookstore. He stood up and grabbed the white robe hanging on the side.

Alexander didn’t feel hungry even when it was late because his mind was focused on meeting Maxim. He spent a few minutes going to the bookstore without a carriage as he didn’t want others to know what he was up to.

When Alexander arrived, he saw the bookstore was still empty, but he could smell Maxim’s scent. His body shivered with delight, knowing he could see him again.

"Ah, you’re finally here," Fred greeted when he saw Alexander. He narrowed his eyes and looked at him intently. "Maxim is over there," he continued.

"Huh?" Alexander was startled. He didn’t say he knew Maxim at all.

"My worker, Maxim. He is looking at the books you want. I doubt he finished finding them all," Fred explained, returning to his work.

"Can I go there?" Alexander asked cautiously.

"Of course. It’s not like you can steal something from this place," Fred shook his head. He knew there wasn’t anything valuable in sight that could make someone steal.

Alexander nodded as a gesture before following the path that Fred pointed. He didn’t have much problem since he could follow Maxim’s scent.

’Ah, my heart is beating so fast,’ Alexander thought as he gripped his chest. He tried to calm down but was so excited to see Maxim’s face again.

At the same time, Alexander saw Maxim’s figure, who was in a forward bending position. However, Alexander’s eyes were staring at Maxim’s buttocks.

Alexander felt like he was punched in the gut, and air escaped from his lungs. His c0ck twitched in anticipation, and his imagination ran wild with all the naughty stuff.

’Calm down!’ Alexander yelled at his mind. His wolf wagging its tail didn’t help at all. ’I must act faster, or I will lose myself.’

Alexander walked quickly and got close to Maxim. "Hello, are you Maxim?" he asked.

"Oh, yes. I am Maxim," he replied, standing up.

"That’s great. I was looking for you," Alexander stated, smiling kindly. He gripped his arm, pinching his skin to inflict pain and remove any upcoming pleasure building inside him.

"Is there anything you need?" Maxim asked, confusion sketched on his face.

"I’m the buyer of these books. I came here to take them," Alexander replied, stepping closer until he was an inch distant from Maxim. He couldn’t help but get close to him and feel his heat.

’Ah! This is bad. I need to control myself!’ Alexander thought as he pinched his skin more. He was a second away from snatching Maxim’s waist and pulling him close.

"Oh... oh right!" Maxim beamed as he pointed at the books he found. "Only fifty-five of them has been found yet," he explained.

Alexander opened his mouth to say it was okay, but an idea appeared in his brain. He wanted to use the opportunity to spend more time with Maxim.

"What should we do now? I need it immediately," Alexander replied sternly, crossing his arms. He acted tough, but he was actually smiling under the hood of his robe.

"I still have time left before three in the afternoon," Maxim stated confidently.

"It’s already three," Alexander replied, showing Maxim his watch. The hands pointed to 3:00 p.m. sharp.

Alexander could see the panic in Maxim’s eyes, and he liked it.

"How did...?" Maxim mumbled, shaking his head. "I was sure— Sh^t," Maxim cursed under his breath.

’Hmm, he hasn’t noticed what time it is,’ Alexander thought, tilting his head to the side. He pitied Maxim, but it was hard for him to let go of the chance.

"No time for that now," Alexander’s voice was sharp but controlled. "I need those books. All of them."

"I—I’ll get the rest right away!" Maxim said, backing toward the door.

Alexander watched as Maxim had a fearful expression on his face. That was when he drew the line.

"Hold on," Alexander’s soft but commanding voice said, freezing Maxim in place. "Let’s not waste time. Bring me the fifty-five books you’ve already found; for the rest, we’ll talk about it," he continued and walked outside.

Alexander fisted his hands together. He was certain to get Maxim’s attention, but not in a negative way. A part of him was afraid Maxim would hate him instead.
