Chapter 29: Alexander’s Pov: Musk Scent
Alexander’s men managed the payment and room selection while he relaxed in the corner of the office.
They were in the VIP office while waiting to get an expensive room.
Alexander’s eyes glanced down at the public crowd throwing money at the women dancing at the center. The bright dancing lights made him a bit dizzy, and he was thankful they were on the second floor since he couldn’t handle it below.
"The room is already set..." Dorian explained, turning to Alexander, who was pinching his nose.
"Let’s go. I want to relax," Alexander replied as he followed Dorian and went out of the VIP office.
"Please wear this," Orion, one of Alexander’s men, said, handing him a golden mask that covered all of his facial structure.
Alexander was confused at first, but he understood. He also saw his men wearing black masks to hide their identities.
When they arrived at the VIP room, Alexander’s wolf immediately started pacing back and forth in his mind.
’What’s going on?’ Alexander thought as he urged his wolf to tell him, but he was ignored.
Alexander stopped walking and gazed at the curtain behind the pole. He could feel his wolf becoming agitated more, and that was when he smelled the most fragrant scent in his life.
"Musk..." Alexander whispered, inhaling the scent deep into his lungs. Somehow, it made his wolf calmed down and curled up.
That was when Alexander knew that his mate was behind the curtain. When a thought crossed his mind, he wanted to run and see who it was.
’Wait, why is she working here at the club!?’ Alexander thought angrily. He couldn’t believe his mate was a slut.
Instead of feeling love for his mate, Alexander was enraged. His blood boiled with the idea that he let other men touch her in a dirty place.
Alexander clenched his hands into fists as he stood rooted to the spot, trying to calm his furious thoughts. His wolf had stilled in an eerie calm, but his human side couldn’t contain the whirlwind of emotions that surged within him.
Dorian noticed the sudden change in Alexander’s demeanor and stepped closer, concerned. "Are you alright?" he asked, but his voice sounded distant to Alexander’s ears.
Without answering, Alexander’s eyes fixed on the curtain. The scent was intoxicating, but the idea that his mate was working in such a place where customers threw money at the workers like they were objects was too much for him to handle.
Alexander took a deep breath, trying to regain control. The wolf in him was urging him to protect and claim, but he was conflicted. "I am fine," he replied firmly.
"The show will start soon. We should take our seats," Dorian whispered, urging Alexander to settle down since he had been standing for so long.
"Okay," Alexander agreed as he settled in the middle.
Then, a group of five women entered the room and immediately sat on their laps for entertainment.
Alexander crossed his legs, showing that he disliked being entertained by them.
The woman assigned to Alexander was about to sit on his lap, but he flicked her away.
"Get lost," Alexander growled at the woman, showing his dominance. At that time, he was on a mission to see his mate and her reaction when they met, and he didn’t want to be bothered.
The woman frowned but understood and went away, saying she needed to find another job in the club to earn money.
"That’s a bit mean," Dorian whispered as he chuckled, amused by Alexander’s reaction without knowing the truth.
Alexander sighed deeply as he ignored Dorion and waited for the curtain to open.
After a couple of minutes, the heavy velvet curtain parted slowly, revealing a man wearing tight, leather clothes pressing against his skin.
"What the..." Alexander’s heart sank. His wolf, which had been eagerly pacing in his mind moments ago, paused, uncertain.
The scent was still there, intoxicating as ever, but it came from the man on the stage.
Confusion and frustration brewed inside Alexander as he scanned the dimly lit room, thinking he was mistaken.
"Why is it a man?" Alexander whispered to Dorion, who was also as surprised as him.
"Well, I told them to give us their best and top performer in the club. I didn’t expect it to be a man," Dorion whispered back. However, he wanted to enjoy the show.
The man walked toward the center of the stage and began his routine, moving rhythmically to the music. His leather outfit clung to his body as he danced under the flickering lights.
Alexander’s eyes darted around the room, his wolf growling low in his chest. He did not like how the most fragrant smell came from the male dancer.
Dorian, seated beside Alexander, leaned in, his voice low. "Relax, we’re here for fun. You seem tense."
Alexander clenched his jaw. He wanted to tell Dorian what was happening to him, but he was still bewildered. He still denied his true feelings and thought he had made a misstep.
Until the male dancer looked into Alexander’s eyes.
Alexander felt an electric pulse travel on his back toward his head and went to his chest. He could feel the mate bond trying to intertwine, but somehow, it got lost, which made him even more disheveled.
"Oh goddess," Alexander’s breath hitched as the dancer’s eyes locked onto his. It was undeniable now.
The mate bond was there, simmering beneath the surface, but everything about the situation was wrong. Something about it wasn’t complete.
The man on stage smiled knowingly, his movements becoming more deliberate as he seemed to focus on Alexander.
There was a subtle intensity in the man’s gaze, a connection that unnerved Alexander’s core.
"This is not right," Alexander murmured lowly. He felt a strange mixture of anger, attraction, and something he couldn’t quite place. He was expecting a woman, not a man, with the same d!ck as he has.
The dancer was not Alexander’s mate in the way he had expected, but the scent, the bond, and the instinct were too real to dismiss.
