Chapter 20: Maxim’s Pov: Escaping The Forest
Jon sighed in annoyance as he stared down at Maxim’s form, still lying on the ground. He looked down at his pants and saw his boner screaming for a release.
"Stay here, Maxim. If you dare tell anyone about this. I’ll tell them you asked for it," Jon stated firmly, warning Maxim to shut his mouth.
Maxim snapped his head to Jon, glaring at him.
"Haha! Who do you think they will believe in? A wolfless wolf or a high-ranking Scout?" Jon asked to prove his point. He crouched down and stared at Maxim’s eyes. "Stay here. I’ll be back soon, and we’ll finish what we started."
Maxim didn’t reply as he watched Jon appoint Sol to stay and ensure Maxim wouldn’t run away.
"I’ll see you later, Maxim. Prepare yourself in advance," Jon chuckled, walking away with his other friends.
Sol and Maxim stared at each other.
"Don’t try anything funny. Remember that I’m a Scout and a full werewolf," Sol stated, warning Maxim not to do anything. He was confident in his own skills, but he didn’t trust Maxim to be all weak. After all, it would take a lot of guts to live in the city of the Darkmoon pack.
Maxim remained silent, diverting his eyes away. He lay on the ground for a few minutes, trying to rest since he had used most of his energy struggling from Jon’s hold.
At the same time, Maxim thought of any plans he could make. He didn’t want to suck Jon’s c0ck or get penetrated instead.
’I’m sure Mom is having a meeting at the clearing behind our house. I can’t go back there,’ Maxim thought as he clenched his fist. He thought of hiding somewhere in the forest but was reminded of what Jon had said earlier.
"Sh^t!" Maxim cursed under his breath. He didn’t care if it would only be targeted at him alone, but he knew if Jon would spread a fake story to the pack. It would reach his parent’s ears, and he didn’t want them to feel humiliated.
That thought made Maxim angry, especially at himself, for he was unable to stand on his own against those who wronged him.
"I need to be strong..." Maxim muttered as he slowly stood up.
"Hey! Stay there!" Sol shouted, warning Maxim. He was in an offensive stance in case Maxim decided to run away.
Maxim stared at the ground. He barely heard anything Sol said because his mind was wracking over what to do. "I need to get out of here..." he whispered, his eyes wide in realization of his situation.
"Hey! Can you hear me!" Sol hit Maxim’s head, waking him up from his trance.
Maxim felt her blood rise up to his brain and couldn’t think straight when he snapped. His arms pumped up and swung toward Sol speedily.
Sol couldn’t react quickly and was hit in the chin. The impact was so strong that he lost consciousness the moment he dropped to the ground.
Maxim finally went back to his senses and realized what he had done. "Oh no..."
Maxim stared down at Sol’s unconscious form, his heart racing. He hadn’t meant to hit him that hard; it was a reflex driven by the panic and rage bubbling inside him.
But now, Maxim was out of time— Jon would be back soon, and when he found Sol knocked out cold, there would be hell to pay.
"SH^T!" Maxim cursed out loud and looked around to ensure no one was there. He leaned down and put his fingers on Sol’s neck to check if he was still alive.
When Maxim felt Sol’s pulse, he sighed in relief. "That’s better," he whispered, but that wouldn’t solve anything. "Ugh! What should I do now!?"
Maxim glided his hands toward his hair in frustration, but he didn’t have time to think about it thoroughly.
"I need to move quickly!" Maxim exclaimed, scanning the surroundings and considering his options.
The forest was thick and dark, offering plenty of places to hide, but if Maxim wasn’t careful, he could easily get lost. On the other hand, staying in the open was a death sentence.
"I’m sorry," Maxim whispered as he grabbed Sol’s arm and dragged him toward the bushes, hiding him, but it was enough to be seen if someone passed by.
Without another moment of hesitation, Maxim took off into the woods, moving as quietly as possible. Knowing Jon and his gang would check those first, he avoided the well-trodden paths.
Instead, Maxim slipped between the trees, moving deeper into the forest’s heart.
"I need to make sure they can’t locate my scent," Maxim muttered, huffing as he ran. He knew the Scouts were great trackers, and he could be tracked at any time.
As Maxim ran, the reality of what happened began to sink in. He had avoided trouble for most of his life, but it kept chasing him.
"I need to be strong," Maxim muttered to himself again, but this time, it wasn’t just a desperate wish— it was a vow. He had been cornered and shamed but wouldn’t let it end like that.
Maxim kept changing direction, and as the adrenaline began to fade, exhaustion set in. Maxim leaned back against the rough bark of a tree, his thoughts going to his mother and the tea she had prepared for him.
"Mom..." Maxim thought he might never taste the tea Tonya made, which hurt his heart.
Maxim closed his eyes, trying to keep his emotions at bay. He didn’t have time to be emotional when time was ticking like a bomb.
"I can’t stay here any longer. I need to leave this forest... for the better," Maxim whispered as he barely said those words out loud.
Maxim thought that his situation would only worsen if he remained still in the Forbidden Forest. He pushed himself up and ignored his aching muscles as he started running again.
That time, Maxim was going straight to the Nechtan River with only his clothes and the necklace from his birth parents.

Maxim stared at the waves, which seemed to be stronger that time. The bright sun had vanished from the sky and been replaced with dark clouds, and a few seconds later, rain started pouring in.
It was terrible weather, but Maxim was thankful since it would help cover his scent.
"I should do this..." Maxim whispered as he secured the necklace on his neck to ensure it wouldn’t get lost in the water.
Maxim grimaced after feeling the cold water on his feet. He wanted to get away immediately, but he sucked it in.
"So cold! What the heck!" Maxim cursed as his body submerged in the river and began swimming. The currents propelled his body away, but he fought against it.
Maxim pushed forward, muscles straining as he fought against the icy grip of the water.
The river seemed to come alive around Maxim, its currents twisting and pulling as if testing his resolve. But Maxim had made up his mind— there was no turning back now.
Somehow, when Maxim was in the middle of the river, where it was the hardest to swim, the currents died down a little, and it was easier to pass through.
As Maxim reached the other side of the river, his muscles burned, and his breaths came in ragged gasps. He hauled himself onto the muddy bank, collapsing in exhaustion.
"Ah! That’s f^cking tiring!" Maxim complained as he closed his eyes.
For a moment, Maxim lay there, letting the rain wash over him, mingling with the sweat and river water on his skin.
"I’ll come back..." Maxim promised his voice barely a whisper against the storm. "When I’m stronger... no one can put me down."
Maxim made sure to remember Jon and what he did. He sacrificed his time to leave the pack when he could have used it to bond with his parents, and he couldn’t forgive Jon for it.
"Jon... Wait for me," Maxim muttered with an act of revenge in mind. It gave him the strength to push forward.
Maxim forced himself to his feet, shivering from the cold and the adrenaline still coursing through his veins. He clenched his fists as he made his way through the dense forest and walked toward the main road where he would enter the DarkMoon pack’s city.
"Mom, Dad. I hope you two will have a good life without me for now," Maxim whispered as he glanced back at the river path behind him.
Maxim held the necklace, the only property he had brought with him. Even though it was from his birth parents, it still reminded him of Tonya and Danny, who took care of him.
The wind howled through the trees, carrying the scent of pine and earth with it. The rain was getting stronger.
Maxim tightened his grip on the necklace, feeling the cool metal bite into his palm. It also made him think about the old monarchs and how his life would have been if the DarkMoon pack hadn’t attacked the BlueStone pack eighteen years ago.
