Chapter 442: 442 encirclement

As Ye Jiu’s voice faded, Ye Bai let out another long cry, flapping its wings and soaring into the sky.

In the darkness of night, a giant eagle flew swiftly through the night sky, creating an astonishing spectacle.

Si Nan had just gathered his men, and they had only just mounted their horses, when a guard beside him pointed to the sky, "My lord, what is that?"

Si Nan looked up just in time to witness the scene, and although he didn’t stop his departure, he began to ponder deeply.

He had already received news that in the courtyard the Prince gifted to Miss Ye, two giant eagles appeared, and not only were these eagles large, but they also seemed to understand human nature.

Initially, Si Nan thought this to be somewhat exaggerated, but now, it seemed to be no exaggeration at all.

Giant eagles that could respond to human commands were rare, let alone one that could carry a person into the sky.

Although the eagle’s speed was fast and Si Nan caught only a glimpse, he did see Ye Jiu, who was lying on the back of the eagle, gripping the feathers tightly.

Equally, the Prince of Jing, perched on a tree awaiting Ye Jiu, saw the same scene.

A Hidden Guard approached, saying, "Master, look at the eagle’s back, it’s actually carrying a person!"

The Prince of Jing’s brows were tightly furrowed; he had already seen, and moreover, had identified who it was.

"Let’s go to the Heavenly Prison and see just what is going on, who dares to plot against me," said the Prince of Jing. Activating his qinggong, he chased after them, but alas, by that time, the giant eagle had long vanished from sight, leaving them all far behind.

When Ye Jiu arrived at the scene, it seemed as though a massive explosion had occurred, with flames reaching the sky so intense that ordinary people couldn’t get close. And within that blaze, the sounds of close combat were carried on, unceasingly.

Out of concern, Ye Jiu rode the eagle up high and concealed himself. Only then did he realize that the fire had merely encircled the perimeter, while inside, a slaughter-like battle was taking place.

Whether due to the explosion or not, inside were corpses of soldiers missing limbs and strewn about. Dozens of martial artists in black were surrounding one man, intent on killing him, and that man was Sikong Mo, without a doubt.

Yet at that moment, he appeared quite disheveled, his clothes were ripped to shreds, and the arms of his garment were hanging by a thread, soaked through with blood that occasionally dripped onto the ground, staining the marble a dark red.

With a "Puchi," blood splattered.

A masked assassin’s large sword viciously chopped into Sikong Mo’s shoulder but he did not even flinch. He pulled the blade from his flesh, shoved back, and plunged it into the abdomen of the masked assailant.

The assassin fell to the ground instantly, losing the ability to fight again. His body twitched a few times before he lay lifeless.

However, there were many assailants clad in black, and as one fell, several others quickly took his place.

Sikong Mo suddenly snatched a weapon from one assailant’s hand. Armed now, his combat effectiveness greatly increased, and the encircling assassins fell one after another, only to be replaced by more from behind.

Given the situation, even though Sikong Mo would pay a heavy price for this battle, the fate of these masked assailants was surely doomed to annihilate.

Just as the black-clad assassins seemed about to be wiped out, suddenly, from another location, a rhythmic thumping "Thud, thud, thud" resounded.

The beats were struck with remarkable regularity, and even amidst the chaos of the scene, the clarity of the rhythm was not affected.
