Chapter 632: 217. Dawn of Transylvania Phase Two: Disaster of the Wolf People_1

The ashes of "Mr. Dwarf Victim X" were placed on the wooden shelf of Murphy’s office at dawn. For a peculiar sense of "ritual", Cui Si had specially found a dwarf-styled earthen jar to hold the ashes.

Actually, according to dwarf tradition, it would be more appropriate to use a metal jar.

For instance, Brass Dwarves would use brass or gold jars, Silver Dwarves would naturally use silver jars, and Frost Dwarves would usually use cold iron jars. It’s this unique tradition that results in many valuable items in the Dwarves’ grand tombs. Yet, few tomb robbers on the continent would dare venture into the Dwarves’ graveyards. The Dwarves’ grudges and safeguarding for tradition were unimaginable for humans- to offend them meant a debt that would be remembered until death.

In extreme cases, it might even afflict descendants, after all, dwarves belonged to the Eternal Species, and they indeed bore grudges deeply.

However, Murphy felt that even if this jar of ashes was returned to Frost Fort in the wilderness, following the dwarves’ tradition, the Frost Dwarves might not necessarily want it.

After all, it had been "defiled".

Even if the Master Witch Hunters exhausted all efforts to purify it, it could hardly bestow much dignity upon the wrongful death of its owner.

Having been exploited by the Dusk after death, and almost causing a "bloodbath" in Transylvania, thousands of miles away, if the golden dwarf powerhouse were conscious in the aftermath, he would probably have to thank the vampires for their "deliverance".

"You’ll have to ’stay’ here for some time, Mr. X."

Murphy set the dwarf’s urn upright, brushed his hands gently on the jar, and said in a puzzled tone:

"Once we establish your identity and background, we will return you to your homeland for a ceremonious funeral... Oh, right, I heard from Cui Si that your tradition requires you to return to the earth, but here in the Crimson Castle, we have no Gaia Temple, so I got this for you."

He put around the urn a bag of soil that Maxim had dug from the ground beneath the earth, saying:

"Hopefully, this can bestow a modicum of dignity to your departed life... Holy crap! What the hell is this? A corpse reanimation?"

Just as Murphy had placed the soil around the urn, he saw swirls of earth yellow colored faint light emanating from the soil, as if a pair of invisible hands were hugging the urn. But the Vampire Lord doubted it was due to a lack of sleep causing him to see things.

As this phenomenon had disappeared in the next second.

Considering that Maxim had dug the soil casually from a cavern, and that his vampire offspring surely wasn’t an authentic Earth Priest, Murphy’s expression soon turned odd.

He knew it. His mischievous vampire offspring had once again "bumped into evil".

He stepped back a few paces, pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the mud from his fingers, and summoned his transparency-adjustable personal data sheet before him. He then switched it to the advanced data view mode to check his combat record and soon enough, he saw a very familiar record:

[07:25:39- You place fresh soil around the urn of ’Mr. Dwarf Victim X’, attempting to offer the unknown deceased a little dying care that belongs to the dwarf.

07:25:40- Your prayer for the mysterious victim Mr. X has, via the perception of earth, aroused the attention of a Star Giant associated with dwarf civilization.

07:25:41- The god of the dwarves, the master of all mountains and lands, the foundation of the world, the Unbroken Lord, Mother Earth Gaia, turns His gaze toward you.

07:25:42- Gaia finds out you’re a vampire, He makes a face of disgust, but He quickly realizes your uniqueness, and you captured Gaia’s attention.

07:25:43- Gaia is very pleased to see your act of granting last dignity to His pitiful offspring.

07:25:44-Mother Earth bestows her blessings, the ground of Transylvania has become sturdier and more fertile. For the next 12 months, no disasters related to the earth would occur in your domain, all plantation activities will reap an additional 10% harvest.

07:25:45- Gaia looks away, He momentarily loses interest in you.

07:25:46- The attention of the Star Giant disappears.]

"Why do I feel like this isn’t at all surprising?"

Murphy sat back down in his chair, rubbed his temples. A regular vampire, even powerful beings who have seen ups and downs like Cui Si would definitely panic when a god showed interest.

However, this kind of treatment, which is "unique" among vampires, is not new to Murphy.

First it was Avalon, then the God of the North Wind, and now the Mother Earth. Murphy increasingly had a strange feeling. He conjectured that his journey would eventually lead him to make contact with all the masters of belief in this continent.

It was hard to say whether this was a good or a bad thing, but so far, his treatment as a vampire, a piece of shit in the eyes of gods, and his "friendly" contact with the three Star Giants have not only been friendly, Avalon even granted him a blessing.

Murphy guessed that if he shared this story, no one would believe him, but that was the truth.

The gods didn’t reject him. Combined with Old Feinock’s frenzied prophecy before his death, Murphy increasingly felt his "identity" was enigmatic.

"So, what exactly is ’Alpha’?"

The Vampire Lord racked his brains but couldn’t come up with a valid conclusion. But he soon realized that he might not have to waste time on these strange experiences. He had more important things to deal with urgently at present.
