Chapter 559: The consequence of not doing a good job is nothing more than that a few thousand people might freeze to death, so don’t feel any psychological pressure_1.

When Dust Beater first entered the game, his "talent" had been spotted by Mud Car Iaido, who was in charge at the survivor camp. Though this modest graduate student always downplayed his abilities, claiming he was a novice and student, he had truly contributed his full plan for the camp’s construction.

This included, but was not limited to, the specific division of residential and working areas, assisting Madam Jules in drafting the camp health and safety manual, improving the tools used by the lumberjacks, and introducing a new and more convenient method of bamboo basket weaving for women.

He even prepared a simplified tutorial on how to build makeshift Arabian tents with just wood and cloth.

These skills Dust Beater acquired online were utilized in the camp and taught to the NPCs, much to the delight and approval of all.

All his efforts were not in vain.

Although among the current players, Chosen Ashman is but an insignificant figure, in the realm of the survivor camp, this "learned and talented" "young scholar," who was known for his kindness, is fairly famous.

He was not only an architect at the camp, but he was also appointed to other official posts by Baroness Milian, like teaching the children basket weaving, the use of various tools, and polishing wood, among other practical skills.

His experiences have earned him a great deal of respect from the people in the survivor camp.

He earned even more of their affection, seen from his two young female assistants, who went from being shy and timid to massaging his shoulders and serving him tea willingly and affectionately.

Dust Beater’s gaming experience was also a bit different from other players.

Since he joined the game, aside from going to the Blood Eagle Corridor, he rarely took the initiative to fight monsters, yet surprisingly, his character’s level never fell too far behind.

He is now at level 9.

Of course, he’s not on par with those who have completed the Black Iron Trial as part of the first batch, but he’s an average player nonetheless.

But the question arises, if Dust Beater does not fight monsters and does not practice combat skills, how does his character level continue to increase?

Well, this probably relates to his unique job.

After he coached the survivors on camp renovation in the game, Dust Beater switched to a particularly unique job: "Architect".

This is a classic "administrative job" that the developers have been promoting.

The skills it grants Dust Beater includes "terrain surveying", "environmental exploration", and "quick sketching". In order to advance his career level, Dust Beater needed to design and execute larger and more complex building plans himself.

Dust Beater initially thought this was preposterous.

But after thinking about it, it made sense. In the real world, if an architect wants to accumulate experiences and get better certifications, they need to learn and progress through their work.

Once he understood this, he viewed it as a "trial" of vocational profession by the game developers and thus happily slacked off in this game.

However, no matter how much he slacked off, what was meant to come, came.

Ever since Lady Adel took him to the Blood Eagle Corridor, Dust Beater’s mood has been increasingly heavy with each step.

Sir Morphy had mentioned to him before, asking him to draw a plan for a new city, which was a week ago, right after version 2.0 was launched. Ever since he accepted this task, he had been drawing non-stop.

Of course, he "borrowed" some references from the internet, but even with the help of this magical tool, his work progress was slow.

This was meant to be a city!

Even if it was a medieval city, planning its design was a massive task for a design student who hadn’t graduated yet.

The more he attempted to plan, the more he realized his shortcomings in his professional field. The only good news was that he didn’t need to design a complex and despair-inducing sewer system for this new city.

The sewer system left by Cardman City could be used directly.

Nevertheless, up till now, his general plan was not even one-third complete. Dust Beater sighed with his pile of drawings, resembling the utter despair he felt when presenting his design drafts to his mentor, but there was no way to escape this situation.

"This is just a game!"

Dust Beater encouraged himself in his heart:

"Don’t be scared! The worst possible outcome is just a failed mission and lowered favorability. It’s not like Sir Morphy will kick me out of Transylvania to fend for myself. After all, I am just a casual gamer, intensity doesn’t matter that much."

He kept telling himself this.

His cautious attitude gradually relaxed, but right after turning a corner, instead of seeing Sir Morphy, Dust Beater heard the laughter of children.

He curiously peeked from behind Lady Adel and saw Madam Jules from the camp, and a nun he’d never seen before, both dressed like clergy from the Old Church, leading about thirty children in the corridor leading to the Hall of the Descendants.

"Eh? What’s happenjng here?"

Now that Dust Beater had the voice chat plugin, he didn’t need to translate voice into text and could converse directly. He quietly asked:

"Why are there human children here in the corridor? Isn’t this a sacred place for the vampire clans?"

"This is a suggestion proposed by Baroness Milian to Sir Morphy,"
