Chapter 498: 172. Reporting to headquarters, I am invincible! The whole village can rest assured_2

With a wave of her hand, the female psychic with pain in her waist sends her three guards to search the not so large forest.

"Damn! I’m screwed!"

Wumeioge instantly panics.

As the most senior tester, no one understands better than him how intelligent the NPCs in this crazy game are. Given the current situation, he won’t be able to hide in this small grove.

If he doesn’t come up with a solution quickly, he’ll be besieged and killed.

He hides behind a large tree, gasping for breath while thinking desperately. He draws his beloved copy of Avalon Sacred Blade from his energy pouch.

"Three ordinary black iron guard monsters, this is tricky. I’ll apply Thorn Skill to myself, followed by Spring Revival, use vines to control one, use Spiritual Energy to activate the Sacred Blade and kill one instantly!

That way, I can handle 1V1.

After dealing with three guards, I’ll handle the psychics who are healing at the edge of the woods; those jerks are elite NPCs...dammit!

I need backup."

With his plan in mind, Wumeioge hurriedly messaged his four lieutenants to come and rescue him, while he hid and waited for the right opportunity.

As the three guards draw close, Wumeioge realizes it’s time for a desperate fight.

He takes a deep breath and casts the Thorn Skill on himself, but his plan starts to go awry from the very first step.

His Thorn Skill is cast, but instead of being covered with the usual spectral energy thorns, the thorny bushes near the tree where he is hiding extend sturdy branches to cover him.

This feels oddly exhilarating!

It’s as if wooden snakes are coiling around his body. A second later, he is covered in a layer of "Thorn Counter Armor" as tough as leather armor, and it’s at this moment that Wumeioge, who has been their job for almost half a month, finally understands what the term "terrain preference" in his job description truly means!

He had thought that the enhancement provided by terrain preference would be between 10% to 20%.

But the computation logic of this career formula isn’t as simple as addition. It’s basically multiplication!

Just this physical Thorn Skill defense alone is as strong as a set of thick leather armor.

"Holy shit! No wonder the hunters always choose places with forests or bushes for their operations. I thought it was just their devotion to nature, but this is an actual professional enhancement!

My God of Avalon, your humble servant finally understands!"

At that moment, Wumeioge, with sincere hands clasped in prayer, prays to the God of Nature who he once disregarded, and then jumps out with renewed confidence.

The moment the three psychics draw their weapons, he casts a spell summoning the vine entanglement.

The original Spiritual Energy vines are replaced with physical vines. The branches of the surrounding trees, as if granted life, sweep in like jungle pythons, binding the limbs and legs of the three soldiers and lifting them into the air at Wumeioge’s command.

"Ahahaha! I am invincible!"

Immersed in the joy of his enhanced abilities, Wumeioge laughs heartily.

He attempts to replicate the brutal scene where Lady Cui Si exploded a five-man squad with Spiritual Energy blasts, eager to see what he could do with the help of his terrain preference.

The result is disappointing.

The vines wrap tighter and tighter, but they’re still not strong enough to strangle the three soldiers to death.

It’s even hard to make them suffocate.

But on the flip side, with the single-target vine skill turning into a group entangle skill and the duration and power of the binding enhancement, what could possibly stop Wumeioge, who’s just a lowly apprentice of oak magic?

He draws out the imitation Avalon Sacred Blade, lifts the hallowed oak-decorated hunting sword, and stabs it into the airborne psychic soldiers.

"In the name of my Avalon God! You, the thugs who slaughtered nature’s people, die! Die! Die!"

Getting into character, Wumeioge yells and stabs wildly, like slaughtering pigs. The soldiers’ light armor can’t withstand the sharpness of the imitation sacred blade, and they’re stabbed to death in less than ten seconds.

But the animated vines don’t release the corpses. Instead, under the stunned gaze of Wumeioge, they extend finer branches into the wounds to suck out the fresh blood as nourishment.

After about half a minute, the three bodies drop to the ground, as dry as mummies.

The blood-stained vines wither rapidly, and three red seeds are fed back from the withered branches before Wumeioge’s wide eyes.

[You have successfully performed a ’War Sacrifice’ in the name of The God. Your ’Warlike Degree’ has increased, and your connection with the ’Wild Nature’ path has improved.]

Seeing the prompt on his character interface, Wumeioge realizes that he seems to have accidentally accomplished something phenomenal for nature worshipers.

Even though he doesn’t know what "Warlike Degree" and "Wild Nature" mean, he guesses that they must be "Special Gameplay" of his job.

With this thought in mind, Wumeioge picks up the three obviously extraordinary crimson seeds and starts to identify them:
