Chapter 445: 154. Oh, is there actually a second half to the exclusive storyline for the young mistress?_3
"So, kind sir of a player, do you really want to change your race in the game, only to find yourself without a proper identity card?"
"Swoosh"
As the little players were chatting, a familiar figure fell from the sky.
The receding wings of the enormous bat allowed Murphy to come down smoothly in front of them. The little players hurriedly came forward to pay respects and familiarize themselves with him.
"My warriors, you have performed excellently tonight! Once again, you’ve proven your initiative and reliability. Now go find Adel to receive the rewards you deserve."
Murphy said with a smiling face to his adorable and hardworking players:
"Furthermore, there’s a special prisoner that needs to be escorted back to Crimson Castle. His identity is of vital importance, so make sure you watch over him carefully!"
"Yes, sir!"
As soon as they heard about the rewards, the players were overjoyed
This task, which took two days to complete, had a basic reward of a psychic ring with protective properties. Now that Sir Morphy had spoken, they might even receive some hidden rewards.
They left the courtyard cheerfully, while Morphy used his psychic energy to open the entrance to the basement and slowly walked in.
Maxim, wielding the ritualistic black blade, was guarding the prisoners here. Morphy took a glance around and noticed that the basement was quite crowded, with over 20 weakening vampires trapped within, their hands and feet chained.
At a glance, Morphy could tell that a portion of their blood essence had been extracted. This was the main reason they couldn’t escape from the basement.
It seemed there were different factions even among the Blood Vulture rebels.
Talk about infighting, and you guys are the champions.
"Who has the audacity to call themselves ’my friend’?"
Morphy surveyed the dark basement but didn’t spot anyone familiar. He was slightly angered by the deception and his tone turned cold. A very weak female vampire was helped to her feet by the others amid the crowd.
Morphy had never seen her before, yet she lowered her head and introduced herself:
"My name is Mary, Sir Morphy. I have never met you, but I did not deceive you by claiming to be your friend. A close friend of mine... Well... my lover, Mokes, told me your story. He mentioned that he, out of pity for your poor living conditions, instructed the Blood Servant to provide you with extra aid."
"Mokes?"
Morphy blinked, familiar memories surfacing as he recalled:
"Oh, I remember now. Is he the one who wished me luck on my death march, and even generously gave me three bags of aid, hoping that I’d have a full stomach on my way?"
"Swoosh"
As Maxim heard of his master being ridiculed, he unsheathed his blade partially, scaring all the other vampires in the cellar.
Mary, who had stood up to speak, was also shaking like a leaf.
What? Her unreliable lover had actually used such an incident as a joke to ’help’?
Damn!
She was going back to the Midnight Mother now.
However, Morphy didn’t go on a killing spree.
He waved his hand, hinting at Maxim to sheathe his weapon again. He looked at the terrified and pitiful Mary, whose clothes were tattered. Clearly, she had been through a trying time.
So, he asked:
"So, where’s my ’beloved friend’ Mokes? I was planning to repay that little ’favor’ of his."
"Mokes... he... he’s dead."
Even though Mary was terrified, she still truthfully answered:
"He didn’t die in Bataxin, but in the hands of the real traitors... This is the secret I need to tell you, Sir Morphy. I know who the mastermind behind the disaster at Cardman City is! Mokes and I witnessed the signs leading up to the disaster."
My lord!
The vampires that hid in Bataxin City are at most a bunch of opportunists, but the real traitors are someone else!
The Blood Vulture Clan did not completely perish in the disaster.
There are 3,000 of them!
Yes!
At least!
At least 3,000 of them had secretly defected to the despicable Wolf Poison Clan even before the disaster! They’re the ones who deactivated the Nocturne enchantment prior to the Star Realm Rift eruption. They’re the ones who, under the despicable Old Edward’s instructions, destroyed our clan.
I saw it with my own eyes!"
"Hmm?"
This news piqued Morphy’s interest, and he asked:
"So, who is the leader of these real traitors in your story? And where are they now?"
"They escaped Cardman City twenty minutes before the Star Realm calamity. They have probably received protection from the Wolf Poison Clan by now."
Vampire Mary said quietly:
"As for the leader, Mokes and I didn’t see him. But we heard... before these people killed Mokes, they mentioned a name... Baroness Cecilia! Yes, that’s the name!"
"!"
Morphy immediately clenched the fists behind his back.
He knew this name!
Lady Phemys’ mysterious human mother was called this and the title was a match. So, was it actually Cecilia, the human harlot abandoned by that old trash Salockdale, who had dealt the fatal blow to her once lover and the father of her daughter, under the instructions of neighbor King Edward?
Damn!
Impressive!
Dear young lady, your parents are truly extraordinary. Even a marital spat could escalate into a conflict that could end a nation. You have an exciting and "deadly" family drama going on in your vampire household!
