"Good job."
As they walked into the warehouse, Murphy quietly said to Maxim standing next to him:
"You’ve learned to use your power wisely."
"It’s only to protect your secret, Master. The things hidden here are too important. Those who know of this location must be carefully guarded."
Maxim responded:
"According to the old traditions of the Blood Vultures, these workers should be taken care of, but I understand that you need manpower now."
"Indeed, the right idea. People are the most important thing; they are the foundation of any great enterprise."
The Vampire Lord chuckled softly, and the two of them ventured deeper into the darkness of the warehouse.
There was no light source here, but it did not hinder their sight. The huge warehouse was filled with neatly arranged wooden crates. Murphy walked up to the nearest crate, caught the lid with his hand, and pulled it lightly. The contents inside were once again exposed to daylight.
Hundreds of war spears were stored in it. Murphy picked one up and swung it twice in his hand. The balance was not bad, the spearhead was sharp; it was perfect for green recruits.
These were all standard new-soldier-grade weapons that junior players wouldn’t even glance at. The stuff here wasn’t meant for them.
Maxim behind him opened another crate, inside of which was brand-new recruit leather armor and well-maintained shields. After a quick inspection, he came over and reported to Murphy:
"These weapons are enough to arm 6000 Blood Servant warriors, sir. There are also 1500 sets of faint spiritual energy weapons and armor specially prepared for vampire recruits stored deeper in the warehouse.
Unfortunately, there are no firearms.
The people of Transylvania do not like such dangerous objects, and the vampires also sneer at those fire-spewing things. However, it is now an era of steel and gunpowder. The ordinary soldiers of the Golden Flower Kingdom can skillfully use a musket."
"The matter of firearms can be discussed later."
Murphy was not disappointed.
He patted the crate in front of him and said to Maxim:
"Lord Palano promised to help us urge the Golden Flower and Nordtoff Kingdom to release the armed Blood Servants who were captured during the war. I don’t need sixteen thousand servant soldiers, and we can’t afford such a large army.
Once they return, you will select the most elite three thousand warriors from among them to form the Cadman People’s Army, or let’s say the ’Cadman People’s Army.’ The name might be more suitable. The weapons and armor here can arm them in a timely manner. Then select a thousand-old-soldiers with decent morals. They will act as full-time militia in the thus about to be rebuilt villages under Mr. Portman’s supervision and training.
The rest will disperse as free citizens. They will infiltrate Crimson Castle and the five collective farms we are currently preparing to rebuild. These villages will become future towns or even small cities.
Mark, I’m leaving you in charge of the territory’s military system.
You may need to find some old soldiers in the camp to act as your advisers and to teach you how to manage such a large force. Promote those who demonstrate talent since we won’t possibly have only three thousand soldiers in the future."
"You won’t be disappointed!"
Maxim replied in a low voice.
This trust from the lord gave him immense motivation.
"Seal it."
Murphy placed the spear back into the wooden crate and then left the warehouse, casting a glance at another unearthed warehouse not far away.
That was the arsenal of the corridor guards and the clan leader’s guards, the most "affluent" key area in the Blood Eagle Corridor.
Maxim immediately replied:
"That too has been accounted for, Master. Including the guard weapons we have recovered from the corridor battlefield, we now have approximately 4000 weak spirit energy weapons that can be distributed, and 3000 sets of weak spirit energy armor.
There’s even more armor in fragments, but we don’t have enough blacksmiths and tailors to make use of those damaged materials for the time being.
As for the high-level spirit energy weapons and armor meant for the clan leader’s guards, we have about 1000 sets.
These figures don’t include the equipment that you previously awarded to the warriors. This is the accumulation of military equipment by the Blood Vulture Clan over the past 400 years. I heard from Lady Cui Si that the Blood Vulture Clan seems to have two hidden arsenals in the south and north of Transylvania, containing another batch of advanced weapons and armor.
It’s a pity that only the Chief Guard knew the locations of the two secret arsenals, but they are all dead now. However, what we have here is enough.
You can completely reorganize the core elite of the Blood Vulture Clan.
The only problem is that the number of clan members is too small."
"That’s not a problem at all."
Murphy chuckled lightly, saying:
"I’ve never planned to rebuild the clan in the traditional vampire way. The Blood Vulture Clan is just keeping an ancient name. This is merely the ’place of origin’ prepared for my warriors when they travel on the continent in the future.
Mark, you are a vampire now, and you should understand the shortcomings of our race.
We are like parasites leeching off other civilizations, drawing fresh blood to sustain ourselves. And the vampires, who are born in the darkness of midnight, tend to start causing problems once they gather in large numbers.
Therefore, in my future plans for Crimson Castle and Transylvania, the number of vampires must be strictly controlled! They should be kept at about 1% of the total population, no more.
I am a vampire.
