Chapter 327: 115. Can we still make it if we run now with our valuables?【55/60】_1
Upon hearing Palano lavish Murphy with compliments about his talents in a buttery tone and exaggerated language, Murphy’s cheeks started to flush with embarrassment, and both his and Cui Si’s expressions turned rather odd.
Cui Si hesitated to tell Palano the truth.
That Murphy had basically spent the majority of the past year slacking off and taking care of her, a vampire invalid who can barely fend for herself. His true growth only took place recently in just over twenty days...
Hiss!
Thinking about it that way, little Murphy’s talents really were terrifying!
Perhaps guessing what Cui Si was thinking about, Murphy, his face expressionless, gave her shoulder a firm squeeze with the hand he’d placed there, bringing her back to reality.
Fine.
She decided not to say anything.
Especially about Murphy and his otherworldly warriors. That was a topic she couldn’t even mention.
It seemed that the spiritual energy dog tags Cui Si had made for the players were quite useful, since Palano, who pursued a career path in physical abilities, had no clue that the players were summoned beings from another realm.
"As Cui Si said, I am an absolute ’semi-illiterate’ amongst the vampire community."
Murphy pretended to sigh helplessly, then turned to Palano and said:
"Perhaps you could explain the Black Disaster to me. All I know is that it’s a monstrous army that erupts from the Dark Mountain Range every hundred years and assaults the mainland. But I don’t know anything about its origins."
"Hmm, your summary is quite accurate."
The first Lord chuckled lightly, casually pulling out a folded map from his bag.
The most ridiculous thing was that this object also had a strong scent of roses, which caused Murphy’s gaze to twitch.
Hey, big brother, I get that your character is a romantic adventurer, but there’s really no need for such strong personal style. What I mean is, you’re a bit too extreme, man.
"shua"
With Palano’s support of spiritual energy, the map unfolded before Murphy’s eyes.
This thing was huge and was clearly of military-grade, but it only depicted the various landscapes of the Dark Mountain Range Area rather than the entire continent.
The so-called Dark Mountain Range wasn’t just a single mountain! Its area was vast, stretching from the western border of Kalem Ancient Country in the east to the eastern line of the Ligurian Peninsula in the west, with the narrow coast of the Misty Sea to the south and the line from Transylvania to the Kavkhoka plains to the north.
This landscape of being surrounded by mountains on three sides and bordering the sea on one side took up a quarter of the continent’s total area, more than four times the size of the Transylvania region and the overall territory of the Posya Confederation!
From a satellite’s perspective, the Dark Mountain Range looked like a dark scar on the continent, highly similar to a scab formed after a severe injury. In such a vast area, it was natural that there wasn’t just mountainous terrain. The description of the "Dark Mountain Range" merely referred to the mountains surrounding this enormous area.
According to Palano’s detailed map, the Dark Mountain Range was full of swamps, plains, valleys, deserts, and even inland lakes and snow mountains.
This military map from the Blood Covenant Knight Order even specified the different regions where various forces within the Dark Mountain Range were located.
The plains and swamps ruled by the wolf people tribes, the mountains occupied by the ogres, the Eternal Abyss and the mysterious dark regions where the Shadow Elves lived, vast expanses of gray deserts and salt lakes, and some scattered minor forces.
Such as Sin Castle, Burning Peak, and Hunger Mountain, etc.
Merely the map itself was quite enlightening to Murphy, and with his gaze arcurately scanning each part of the map, the territories hidden by fog in the map function of the game management system, other than the Transylvania region, were all "lit up", covering the entire Dark Mountain Range Area in the style of the Blood Covenant Knight Order’s military map.
Awesome!
Now I’ve got the content for the new map and expansion pack, right?
The players are thrilled!
"The Dark Mountain Range is dangerous not only because of the Wolf People and subordinate species such as the Gnolls and Goat People. One of the bigger factors is that the entire Dark Mountain Range Area has been enveloped in corrupt and volatile spiritual energy since the beginning of the era.
This corrupt spiritual energy seeped into the earth and resulted in the birth of savage and warlike lifeforms that can’t even be labeled as civilized."
Palano’s finger slid across the map in front of him, and he said in a low tone:
"However, there is actually a complete food chain and ecosystem inside the Dark Mountain Range. This food chain maintains the basic stability of this savage area. It thrives on the corrupt spiritual energy and promotes the breeding of abundant life within, undergoing violent challenges at every moment to complete the metamorphosis of death."
Take the Wolf People, for example!
They are very prolific.
But their mortality rate in the harsh environment of the Dark Mountain Range is equally high. This barely maintains the slow growth of their population, preventing too much chaos from breaking out."
Unfortunately, the corrupt spiritual energy inside the Dark Mountain Range has a rather peculiar ’cycle of change’."
For a long time, this change was unknown to everyone, until the first large-scale ’Corruption Exhaustion’ occurred in the year 645 of the era."
The corrupt spiritual energy enveloping the Dark Mountain Range suddenly weakened to what could be called a ’calm’ state over a few years. This allowed external life to truly set foot in this area for exploration. But the sudden change in spiritual energy broke the already fragile food chain and ecosystem within the Dark Mountain Range."
As a result of improvements in the living conditions of the Wolf People, their numbers began to skyrocket, and within a mere five years, they had spawned a massive army of savages."
