Chapter 200: 72. Murder!【12/60】_2
If Jed goes mad and attacks her, Cui Si will surely surprise me."
She knows very well what she’s doing.
A smart woman will always use her wits to help her man, but when it comes to this, you’re both dull and too arrogant to acknowledge your shortcomings.
What a difference. I can’t help worrying for your future partner."
This slightly teasing response silenced Phemys.
After a few seconds, she sighed and said:
"Sometimes, I really envy the weird relationship between you and Cui Si. It’s not like usual vampire relationships, but rather like human families.
My father once told me to stay away from Cui Si because she would bring disaster.
But it turns out she didn’t."
"My warriors are setting off!"
Morphy sighed upon seeing the forty junior players who logged in almost simultaneously on the Core Bead. He then estimated the time and said:
"Prepare for action in an hour! Take good care of yourself, Miss, but try not to worry too much. If you unfortunately die, I will prepare a tombstone fitting your status and pay tribute annually."
"Can’t you say something more auspicious?"
The young lady grumbled bitterly and then looked at the silent Lady Adel beside her and said:
"Let Adel accompany you. You can easily put yourself in danger with your level of skill."
"No! This is a hunt."
Morphy waved his hand and said:
"We’re a united pack of wolves about to fight a group of crazed tigers and leopards for territory and food. It’s a life or death situation, blood will be shed!
As one of the strongest members of the wolf pack, Adel has her own targets and tasks. I don’t need protection!
The current situation is merely a calm before the storm. If even this obstacle cannot be overcome, perhaps eternal silence is the merciful ending I deserve."
He then turned around, extending three fingers towards the silent Lady Adel, asking:
"Your tasked with three! Is it achievable?"
Lady Adel lifted her head.
Something was flickering in her blood-red eyes. She quickly unsheathed her sword with a sharp sound, then holstered her crimson handgun on her combat belt.
She spoke in her unique husky voice:
"If I kill five...my lord, may I make a disrespectful request?"
"Depends on your performance. Sir Murphy is always generous in rewarding outstanding abilities."
With that, Murphy shrugged and flashed a grin.
His bared white teeth were bold against the night sky, giving his handsome, androgynous face an uncommon sense of defiance. He then crouched down and secured the ladder descending from the tower, saying:
"So, ladies, remember to stay safe at the dance. See you later."
"Swoosh, swoosh!"
Two gusts of wind blew over his head, the wind from the flapping of the blood-colored bat wings nearly blew Murphy away.
Watching as the two slim figures disappeared into the night sky, the envious but wingless vampire sneered, and as he descended the ladder in his billowing cloak, he grumbled in his heart:
"Just because you can fly, you think you are something? Once I finish the Black Iron Trial and grow my own wings, I’ll even fly to the restroom! Tsch."
At the same time, flying side by side in silence over the dim clouds, Lady Adel pulled her hood closer and murmured to the young lady:
"Just now...I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist..."
"That’s okay, Adel, it’s your rite of passage."
Phemys’ long black hair fluttered in the night breeze. Holding her magic wand, she softly said:
"Don’t resist the calling of your heart. Although it’s hard to let go, fate has given us a warning. Clinging to the past is harmful to both of us, we should part ways and embark on our own separate life paths.
May your night hunt be a joyous one...Descendants of Murphy."
Lady Adel choked back a sob.
A few seconds later, she flew forward to embrace the petite young lady, placed a cold kiss between her brows in her surprised perception while they were spinning, and responded tremulously:
"May your rebirth go smoothly too, my only friend, Baroness Phemys."
Then, Lady Adel pushed, their figures separated in the cloud layer and flew away in two directions.
There was no intersection between them anymore.
---
"This is the last batch of fresh blood sent to Jed and his gang. It’s provided by a few virgins in the camp."
In a large tent in the survivor’s camp, Mud Car Iaido looked at the fresh blood contained in a crystal bottle, disgust on his face:
"These damn vampires really have an appetite. They don’t want the blood of the old, the men, or the married ones, just pure blood.
To satisfy their perverted desires, the poor girls in the camp are suffering. Some weak ones are already anemic.
They are all the NPCs we risked our lives to save!
Those bastards deserve to die!
Disgusting! Despicable!"
"Burn them alive!"
Chosen Ashman, holding a spear with a shotgun slung over his shoulder, had just witnessed his two assistants being drained of blood too. He was filled with fury and shouted:
"We mustn’t let them die easily!"
"Exactly!"
