Chapter 179: 64. Let the flame purify everything!!! [4/60]_1
(Extra update for ’Newbie Village Chief Tepar’ [4/5])
Lumina received a prompt about a hidden mission’s completion as soon as she logged in today, instructing her to go to the Survivor Camp to receive her hidden reward.
This is the first time a large hidden mission has been completed, and other players were interested in this unique reward. So, when Lumina, Ring Attack, and Brother Black Silk excitedly went there, a large number of spectators followed them.
They even rented two flatbed carts from Maxim, abiding by the principle of making the most of their time and not making wasted trips, they took on a "Supply Delivery" daily task as well.
The ones responsible for receiving the supplies were the two in-game characters dubbed Dump Truck and Shovel.
These two are quite well-known among the 40 players. After all, when others are busy slaying monsters, they’ve already become officials.
The greetings were naturally filled with jokes. The two fellas didn’t mind and cheerfully directed the assistant NPCs to receive the supplies. They too were part of the mission and thus had to receive their rewards.
When all the players arrived at the location, they looked around, impressed by the spectacle!
Not only was Murphy here, Lady Milian, who ran the camp, was also present, as were most of the important NPCs from the camp.
With thousands of people gathered, there was a real feeling of a sea of humanity.
Many of the survivors in the camp were still bandaged up or using makeshift crutches. When they looked at the players in front of them, their eyes were filled with gratitude.
They would never forget that when they were waiting to die in fear, it was these warriors that saved them.
These tireless warriors escorted them out of the dark city under the pursuit of monsters, brought them here, and continuously collected and delivered supplies so they could survive this disaster.
This debt of gratitude must never be forgotten!
"We all know who rescued us from the city of despair. When we had lost all hope and fallen into hell, they pulled us back to the human world."
Seeing that all the players had arrived, with a cue from Murphy’s gaze, Miss Milian, draped in a crimson cape, stood on a rock and shouted to the surrounding crowd with a speech she had prepared in advance:
"But we haven’t truly expressed our gratitude to these saviors and warriors yet. The Transia People never forgive enemies, but we never forget a good deed.
We’ve gathered some things from our supplies to represent our gratitude.
We will always remember the names and stories of these saviors until we die, until their heroic deeds echo forever in this land!
Cheer for our saviors!
Pay them our highest respect!"
There was an immediate chorus of passionate shouts from the crowd, the survivors were shouting their thanks.
Even if the players couldn’t understand their language, the translation from their Calculating Pearl allowed them to feel the genuine gratitude from these NPCs.
Even experienced players like Wumeioge were stunned by this scene, let alone a bunch of student group members.
This was a chorus shout from over a thousand people. It was overwhelming.
"Well said."
Murphy clapped with a smile, and quietly encouraged Milian:
"Just like a retired old cadre, steady. It seems you are well suited for this job."
Milian responded with a roll of her eyes.
But what Murphy said wasn’t wrong, she indeed didn’t hate the feeling of being a manager. And she deeply understood that thing called "power", even though she was only managing a "refugee camp" currently.
"Come forward, my warriors!"
Murphy called out, the five players who completed the mission looked at each other. The middle-aged duo were the first to step forward. They saw a middle-aged NPC with a bandaged head holding something walked over and handed it to them, continuously expressing his thanks.
It was a signboard with the name "Nurul’s Farm Tools Store".
This "NPC" was the owner of the store. He wanted to give the warriors running the camp his shop, land deed, and the farm tool inventory inside as a gift.
He didn’t feel sad about this.
Because Miss Milian had privately given him a large sum of money, enough for him and his family to live comfortably somewhere else once everything settled down.
In the destroyed city, there was a shortage of everything except ownerless wealth. Murphy had acquired a lot during his time "hunting" in the city.
"Damn, did he just give us this shop?"
Dump Truck held the signboard and land deed, looking uncertain. Shovel was as sober as ever, he smirked and said:
"The shop is still in the city, probably ruins by now. The operating rights are ours, but it’ll be a long time before we can run it. Still good though, the developers are generous. I reckon there’d be similar shop trading mechanics in the future.
Giving it to us now is like an early test."
"This is what you deserve."
Murphy said with a smile. Dump Truck and Shovel also showed polite smiles, behaving like elementary school students receiving awards on stage, very formal and respectful.
Although they were clear it’s just a game, seeing NPCs whose lives were saved due to their ingenuity showing gratitude made the two middle-aged men quite touched.
