After "The Trail of Shadows" and "Path of Dawn", I seemed to have recognized my limits. Yet the series of incidents in the fan fiction realm starting from mid-year, forced me to embark on my third attempt at original writing.

The failures from the previous two times are still vivid in my mind, filling me with indescribable unease when beginning for the third time.

I hesitated to find a compelling reason to believe in my successful transition, especially considering I am in my thirties now, a time when one should be making significant contributions in other industries...

Thank heavens, there’s no such disgraceful notion in our profession.

But in the month since the new book was uploaded, all the data has exceeded my expectations. The confidence boost from reality has dispelled the unease lurking within me, making me realise, maybe, just maybe, I can gamble a little this time.

A gamble that you all will love this story.

Does it start slow? Is the theme old? Are the characters weak?

Yes, I admit, all of these problems exist. But I trust that a story - one I’ve poured my heart into, just the outline and timeline alone took a hundred thousand words - can still win readers’ love.
