Chapter 1390: 469. Snakes! I hate snakes!_2

The Netherworld Knight’s handsome skeleton war horse, clad in armor, had already been auctioned off on the spot as "spoils of war" in a trench dug by the newcomers.

It must be said, the new "Swamp Shadow" map is terribly made, with an environment that has everyone complaining bitterly. The enemy’s abundant and high-quality numbers, along with their unruly spawn rate, are simply lethal. However, the only redeeming feature of this version is the introduction of these cool ground mounts that players still love.

Compared to living horses, skeleton horses may not interact and can only understand the simplest of commands, but they have the advantage of not needing food or a relay station to be stabled at anywhere they go, and what’s more awesome—these creatures don’t get tired!

They can run continuously and ignore all sorts of terrain obstacles until the Death Psychic Power within them is exhausted.

For players who are too troubled to build up a reputation or raise a real horse, skeleton horses are almost the best mounts they can find right now.

The only pity is that to get one, you either need to build up a reputation with the Bloodclaw Clan, or you only have a small chance of getting one after defeating a Netherworld Knight or "Necromancer".

In the past month or so, less than twenty skeleton horses have been produced on the three fronts, making them extremely rare. However, it is said that last night’s bombing took out many "Necromancers" and Netherworld Knights, and now many clever newbies have been tempted.

They plan to make a detour in the swamp front line after the conquest of the "Land of Corpses" is over, hoping to find a rare elite like an "unclaimed skeleton war horse".

Hehe, by then, ownership will be decided in the way of adventurers!

That naturally means whoever finds it first owns it; with everyone relying on their own abilities, there’s really nothing to complain about.

While a probing attack is conducted at the front, the student group, a significant force on the western front, did not participate. Instead, under cover of night, they had stealthily crossed the edge of the Plague Town and were rapidly advancing eastward, using their ability to fly.

That area is the only one of the four directions of Plague Town that is not heavily guarded and is the destination for the students’ adventurous reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines tonight.

Right now, Electronic Snail, who has the strongest sense of direction in the student group, is holding a map and leading the way, talking as he flies:

"I specifically went to Morlan village to inquire, and several old Witch Hunters there gave me a detailed description of the horrors of Transylvania, which they had heard from their Instructor during their training days on Green Island.

The Swamp Giant Snake Ningkinanka!

This legendary beast definitely exists. According to those Witch Hunters, they live in these eastern swamps.

The letters on the undead messenger of the wolf people killed in the sewers of Crimson Castle by Little Brother Fu also proved this point. These Jackal Warlocks had camped here for several years just to enter the territory of the Swamp Giant Snake to search for the secret treasure of the King of Bone Biting.

I reckon they must be fighting with the Swamp Giant Snake at the same time they’re fighting us, so if we can use this, maybe we can wipe out Plague Town in one fell swoop.

Maybe even without spending a single bullet."

"You’re too optimistic."

Waving his Magic Wand to cast a spell of concealment on everyone, Cheche said:

"If that Swamp Giant Snake is really powerful, then these Jackal Warlocks should have been wiped out when they provoked it, but they seem to be thriving in the swamp, right? It’s very likely that both sides are equally matched.

Say, Meow Meow Shark, you’re a Hunter, do you know what this legendary beast implies?"

"Damn! The most powerful beast I’ve ever seen is only Little Brother Fu’s Scorpion Lion."

Meow Meow Shark, carrying a heavy crossbow, vehemently said:

"And that Scorpion Lion is just a giant beast elite template, still a rank below the legendary beast leader template. Us Hunters can’t even tame giant beasts, let alone legendary ones.

But what’s certain is that the classification system of natural creatures devised by the Elf Druids must make sense. It’s not put together haphazardly, so I reckon the destructive power of this legendary beast must be super strong.

And I’ve heard Ningkinanka is gregarious.

That’s even scarier.

I also think our backup plan would be great if it works, but the question is how do we get these legendary beasts to Plague Town.

With our fragile little bodies now, we’d probably be done for just by getting a glare from afar."

"Let’s kite it."

Ayu is quite optimistic.

He kept surveying the terrain and distance between Plague Town and the Swamp Forbidden Area from high above, then, stroking his chin, he said:

"Use a relay-style guide, sacrificing our current Vampire members, I think we should have no problem leading it to Plague Town before we all die. The only thing we need to confirm now is whether this creature is really powerful enough?

Can it break the defenses of Plague Town on its own?

Wait a minute!

Did you guys hear anything?"

"Over there!"

Meow Meow Shark, who had the strongest perception, immediately folded his wings and swooped down towards the area of low roars and strange tremors in the distance. Followed closely by the other Vampire Players, they flew through the strange layers of green fog hanging over the Swamp Forbidden Area and saw the scene they wanted to see as they neared the ground.
