Lu Weixi arrived at the shopping center an hour later.

Xue Feifei wasn’t waiting in the parking lot; she stood at the bustling entrance. Luckily, it was during the pandemic, so wearing a mask didn’t look out of place. She also wore big black-framed glasses and a hat, wrapped up tightly in a black down jacket that concealed her figure since it was winter.

Seeing Lu Weixi, she smiled, "Sorry, I happened to be free today. I thought we haven’t seen each other for so long, so I invited you out for a bit."

Although she was smiling, Lu Weixi somehow felt that her eyes looked a bit tired.

In these past few months, Xue Feifei had been very busy. She and Huang Mi had already finished shooting their second movie. Even though neither film was released yet, the cast was strong, and with the previous rumors along with Yu Sixing’s support, they got quite a few scripts offered to them.

But Xue Feifei was picky about the roles she took on. If the production team was mediocre or the script was poor, she wouldn’t consider it. She wasn’t concerned about securing leading roles yet. If there was a particularly striking role, even if it paid less, she would take it. Currently, she was considering a role in a serious drama as the fifth lead female character, a Republican-era show where she portrayed a singer and the best friend of the female lead.

Luckily, Xue Feifei grew up influenced by her mother, who was a drama enthusiast. She hadn’t formally studied, but she’d heard and seen enough. The show hadn’t started shooting officially yet, and she was learning from a mentor, practicing singing and acting daily. Although "one minute on stage takes ten years of work," and she couldn’t compare to professional opera actors, her dance training helped her make the movements look convincing.

Moreover, her earliest filmed movie, "Chaotic Times," had completed post-production and was ready to begin the review process for theater release. She needed to keep up with the promotions, and as the second lead female, she couldn’t avoid participating in roadshows and publicity events.

Regarding other commercial endorsements, performances, and various activities, she took on fewer of them. Her agency’s strategy for her was to solidify her acting skills step by step. As for endorsements, it wouldn’t be too late after she made a name for herself. The movie hadn’t been released yet, so there was no rush in signing endorsements; they wouldn’t bring in much money anyway.

"That’s true, a big star indeed. When you call, I must find the time no matter what," Lu Weixi said genuinely. Today was supposed to be a significant day for their marriage; Qin Zhiyou had been waiting to pick her up. Even though they had only gotten legally married without a big ceremony, marriage was still marriage. Lu Weixi had declined his pick-up to meet Xue Feifei, which slightly annoyed Qin Zhiyou. It was their wedding night! Even if it was just nominal, with hugging allowed but no touching, it still was their wedding night, and here she was, going out with her best friend!

Xue Feifei just smiled. In the past, she probably would have hooked an arm over her shoulder and strode inside. But today, she wasn’t so extroverted; she merely turned her head, her eyes first landing on the wedding ring on her hand, "Looks pretty loving, huh?"

Lu Weixi and Qin Zhiyou’s divorce was handled privately; aside from her mother, she hadn’t told anyone. Qin Zhiyou was the same; even his secretary thought they were just separated and preparing divorce papers, entirely unaware they had divorced and then remarried.

Xue Feifei was busy as usual, hardly able to meet; why bother telling her these distressing details?
