Just as Qin Zhiyou had said, Lu’s mother didn’t oppose at all; upon hearing the news, she simply nodded indifferently and uttered a "Hmm". After a while, she added, "Since you’re going to do it, might as well get the child’s birth certificate done too, and have the prenatal check-up as well."

Lu Weixi hadn’t expected her mother to agree so readily; it seemed the property agreement Qin Zhiyou discussed with her was indeed made under her guidance.

She didn’t think highly of Qin Zhiyou ordinarily, but at a critical moment, she would still go along with the younger generation’s wishes. She couldn’t win over her daughter, after all, grandchildren have their own blessings.

"Why are you looking at me? Is there something on my face?" Lu’s mother took a sip of tea and noticed Lu Weixi still staring at her, deliberately asking.

"No, nothing." Lu Weixi shook her head, then smiled and said, "Mom, what do you want to eat tonight? How about I buy some roast duck to bring back?"

Lu’s mother didn’t object, and even added, "Get more sweet bean sauce and spring pancakes, otherwise, there won’t be enough."

Although she didn’t say anything to Qin Zhiyou directly, her words already acknowledged him as her son-in-law.

Today was supposed to be a working day, but Lu Weixi held a special status at her company; no one would dare say a word even if she didn’t show up. Qin Zhiyou also specially made time, and the two of them took their identity documents and drove to the public service office.

The last time they came here was for a divorce, and now it was for a reconciliation. Although they had been married once before, it felt more like an act of defiance at that time, utterly lacking the joy of marriage. But now, they were not exactly bursting with joy, but there was something much more profound. They had a child, a family, and years of ups and downs.

This was a remarriage, not a new marriage. Upon arrival, they filled out a statement, submitted the divorce certificate, and other documents. The staff asked routine questions, such as whether it was of their own free will, their names, ages, etc. After receiving affirmative answers, they indicated "restoration of marriage" on the marriage registration form and took the couple’s divorce certificate.

When the two came out, each holding the familiar red marriage certificate, they both felt an unrealistic illusion.

Lu Weixi turned her head: "Are we married just like that?"

Qin Zhiyou nodded: "How else? But thankfully we didn’t go through the court last time. Otherwise, we would have to retract the judgment, and it might not have been handled this fast."

Lu Weixi was a bit confused, and Qin Zhiyou stretched out his hand, wrapping it around her shoulder: "Let’s go wife, we still have things to do. First, we need to get the birth certificate, and then go to the hospital to register."

When he said "wife", his expression was quite natural and relaxed, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Although Lu Weixi was startled for a moment, she quickly smiled and went along with him.

They obtained the birth certificate at the community service office and immediately headed to the affiliated hospital.

Even though there are many private hospitals in China, public hospitals are superior in terms of medical resources and the quality of doctors. For something as significant as childbirth, Qin Zhiyou preferred Lu Weixi to go somewhere more reliable.

They used the VIP channel, got the birth certificate, and quickly registered there. Today’s prenatal checkup didn’t require blood tests, so Lu Weixi could eat breakfast before coming here to avoid inconvenience during the document process earlier.

Having gotten through the first three months, the baby in her belly was developing well, and both of them finally breathed a sigh of relief.
