Chapter 1261: Chapter 1254 Obstetrics and Gynecology (12) Chapter 1261: Chapter 1254 Obstetrics and Gynecology (12) Lu Weixi couldn’t tell if the feeling in her heart was sour or sweet after noticing this.
She clicked into his social circle. Qin Zhiyou rarely posted, and when he did, it was mainly about the company or his work. This time was no different; the photos exuded an air of peaceful times, tranquil and serene. One could see that he had gotten a bit darker and thinner recently, yet he seemed spirited. Wei Hui caressed Qin Zhiyou’s photos for a while before silently backing out.
The last message between them had been from several months ago. Their communications through WeChat were sparse, so were text messages and phone calls. It was because their relationship had been strained. Any topics of conversation were mostly relayed through Secretary Wang. If she asked him to come home, his impatience was palpable, and his tone, harsh.
Yet, even so, he never failed to provide the money he owed her, as well as the treatment she deserved. He might have seemed stingy and she might have felt insignificant, but in reality, he always fulfilled his promises.
As Wei Hui touched the screen, she somehow typed out the words: “I miss you.”
Startled by her own action, she questioned if it was because of the child in her womb or perhaps, because a part of her still held onto him?
She quickly tried to delete the message, but perhaps because the delete button was too close to the send button, she accidentally sent the words out!
Lu Weixi panicked immediately; almost instinctively, she retracted the message with swift agility.
But after breathing a sigh of relief upon the retraction, she didn’t expect that within seconds, Qin Zhiyou responded from the other end with a few words: “Is something wrong?”
Lu Weixi, frightened, dropped her phone, and it hit the floor. When she picked it up, there was no damage except for a cracked screen.
Great, now her phone was unusable. She quickly turned it off, her heart pounding furiously. She cursed herself for her slip-up and for dropping her phone.
Qin Zhiyou, too, after the divorce, found himself blocked by Lu Weixi and could no longer see her social updates or receive her messages. However, he would occasionally catch snippets of her from others since she was managing a project he had introduced. They said she worked diligently, had good ideas, and was a pleasant person. They were keen on future collaborations, which both comforted and worried him.
On his end, he regarded Zhongtian Steel as a formidable competitor, but to his surprise, the company had indeed invested significantly. Although there was some minor activity from downstream enterprises, it didn’t cause much damage–just normal business competition. Qin Zhiyou thought that perhaps the company was trying to lull him into complacency with a mix of feints and facts to catch him off guard. He couldn’t let his guard down.
When his phone alerted him to a message, he thought it was spam, but upon checking, he saw it was from Lu Weixi, and he almost jumped out of bed. Yet, when he opened it, it said “Message retracted,” and he had no clue what she’d sent. Irritated, he asked, “Is something wrong?” She didn’t reply. When he tried calling, he found her phone had been turned off.
Perhaps it was just a slip of the finger.
Both harbored their own thoughts as they rested. The next day, Lu Weixi went to work first and bought a new phone on her way to the hospital in the afternoon. But as she entered the gynecology department, from a distance, she saw a man–Qin Zhiyou…
