I plan to get some medicine from the hospital later; it might take some more time. I might not make it back for lunch, so, Mom, please prepare lunch for yourself.”

Lu’s mom didn’t understand but since her daughter said it was nothing, of course, she nodded, “Alright, then take care of yourself.”

Lu Weixi went back, but only to the medical examination place, and handed the prenatal examination to the doctor, who nodded, “I thought so; it’s been over two months now.”

Lu Weixi then asked, “Doctor, when will the results for my other tests come out?”

The doctor replied, “A few tests take longer. They should be ready by tomorrow.”

Lu Weixi nodded again and, feeling a bit dizzy as she was leaving, said, “Then doctor, I’ll be going now.”

“Your prenatal report,” the doctor reminded her, pointing to the report she had left on the table. Lu Weixi paused for a moment, then picked it up, her grip involuntarily tightening, “Doctor, I have a rather awkward request. If I come to collect the report in a few days, could you omit the pregnancy information from my medical examination report? My family doesn’t know yet, and being pregnant isn’t a necessary item to include in the report, right?”

She remembered that some people, even if they were tested for marriage and one of them tested positive for AIDS, if strongly requested, the doctor could omit it and not inform the other party. If AIDS could be concealed in pre-marriage examinations, then surely a normal physical examination revealing a pregnancy did not need to be disclosed?

The doctor was taken aback for a moment, then nodded, “Indeed, it’s not a necessary item to disclose.”

Lu Weixi nodded.

The doctor glanced at her, “But you haven’t completed all of your medical check-up items yet?”

Lu Weixi paused, looked at the medical examination form again, and indeed, she had not done the chest X-ray yet. However, the doctor quickly added, “But since you’re pregnant, taking an X-ray might affect the child. Especially since you’re not yet three months pregnant, which is a crucial period for the baby’s development. Having the X-ray could lead to deformities, miscarriage, or premature birth.”

Lu Weixi asked, “If I don’t do the chest X-ray, can you still sign off on my medical check-up intentions?”

After thinking, the doctor said, “This… doesn’t quite comply with the regulations. Generally, under these circumstances, we would explain in the remarks section.”

So, she either had to reveal her pregnancy or undergo the X-ray?

Lu Weixi hesitated for a long time. Although she wanted to terminate the pregnancy, she wouldn’t risk her child’s health.

“Then I just won’t have it done for now, can other tests still reveal the results?”
