Chapter 1234: Chapter 1237: See You After Dawn (18) Chapter 1234: Chapter 1237: See You After Dawn (18) Lu Weixi rolled her eyes internally. What kind of man had she ended up with to have lived with him for five years? However, when his face fell, she tiptoed, her wrists looping around his neck.
Qin Zhiyou was right, they only had these last two days left. Afterward, they would part ways and never meet again. They would go their separate ways; he would have a new wife, and she might have other plans. There would be no more days like this.

After washing up and making dumplings, though many broke and nearly turned into noodle soup, Qin Zhiyou was still satisfied.
After cleaning up, feeling somewhat tired, they didn’t do much and took a nap. When they woke up, it was almost evening. After a simple tea, Lu Weixi went for a walk with him.
Although the West Mountain villa didn’t have a mountain like the old Qin Family house for support, a walk around the neighborhood was sufficient.
Throughout the walk, neither of them said much, just walked side by side. The weather was still cold, the streams in the neighborhood had thawed, but the willows on the banks were still bare. The neighborhood was very quiet, with no one strolling about. The West Mountain area consisted of detached villas, rarely semi-detached, offering good privacy. Few people were seen along the way, but the barking of dogs was constant. Combined with the trees and flowers blending into the landscape, it felt a bit like the countryside.
Reaching a spot by the water, if they wanted to cross the bridge, they would have to go a distance; if they wanted to hop over the river using the specially arranged landscape stones, they would have to jump from one to the other. Underneath the stream, there was the babbling of the water; if they slipped and fell, getting hurt was a secondary issue to being unbearably cold.
Lu Weixi was still hesitating whether to detour when Qin Zhiyou had already taken the lead. After walking a few steps, Qin Zhiyou stopped and turned back to see Lu Weixi standing still: “Why aren’t you following?”
Lu Weixi glanced at the moss on the edge of the rocks and then at the water below: “I think I’ll walk a bit further.”
Qin Zhiyou didn’t say anything but jumped back again, took her hand in his large one, and gently pulled her.
Lu Weixi hurried a few steps to catch up. Qin Zhiyou’s palms were large, his fingers long and distinct with calluses in his palms. Although his fingertips were slightly cold, his palm was very warm. He was tall, with long strides but adjusted well to her pace, leading her in front, pulling her to hop behind him. Reaching the last stone, which was a bit from the bank, Qin Zhiyou let go and jumped over, then turned around: “Come on.”
Lu Weixi measured the distance, about half a meter. She was worried–after all, it was winter, and being dressed heavily, falling into the water if she couldn’t jump across would be disastrous. But looking back, with a long way around, she was caught mid-way, trapped between a rock and a hard place.
She should’ve known not to come with Qin Zhiyou. This jerk, he jumped across leaving her behind.
Seeing her standing there dumbly, Qin Zhiyou was still laughing: “Come on, I promise I’ll catch you.”
Lu Weixi was naturally unwilling: “I trust you for nothing, you old rascal!”
“You even say your legs aren’t short, and yet you can’t make it across?” Qin Zhiyou laughed again, extending his hand: “How about this–if you fall, I’ll jump in and swim with you. Will that do?”
