“Got it!” Only a fool would refuse a ride offer. Xiaochen happily hailed a taxi, departing even before they did.

Lu Weixi drove, and Qin Zhigu sat in the passenger seat, buckling his seat belt, and reversed the car. Because of the snow, the weather was cold, so Lu Weixi didn’t drive fast. The car was very quiet inside; nobody spoke.

Qin Zhigu gazed out the window. Even though now, he had completely calmed himself, it was impossible to say there wasn’t a slight stir of emotion. Just like the scene of handing over the coat earlier, he involuntarily thought about the past, about the time when they were dating.

It was the same for Lu Weixi. Even though part of her heart now belonged to Qin Zhiyou, her mother, and her work–betrayal was cruel, yet a first love still had many sweet memories that couldn’t be completely stripped away from the memory.

She thought for a long time before finally speaking slowly, “Will you come over again tomorrow?”

Qin Zhigu was taken aback for a moment, then withdrew his gaze, not daring to look at her, and just watched the road ahead, “I should be there, but I’m not going to stay near the museum the whole time. Paul has some issues that haven’t been resolved; I need to help him sort them out first. He has a bit of a temper, please be patient with him.”

Qin Zhigu gave a wry smile, “Even if it’s not for Paul, do you think they would get married without asking me to come back?” No matter what, he was Qin Zhizha’s cousin. It was the same during the engagement, and now even more so with the wedding.

Lu Weixi couldn’t very well comment on Cai Yiren’s pregnancy, but still offered a word of caution, “Just be careful. I feel like Cai Yiren has come here with you in mind.”

Qin Zhigu nodded, “I understand.”

As they were speaking, Lu Weixi’s car returned to the West Mountain villa. She entered first, and as soon as she did, Cai Yiren said, “I was just wondering why it’s been so long since I saw big brother picking up sister-in-law, and now sister-in-law is back–”

Her words trailed off as she saw Qin Zhigu behind Lu Weixi.
