My ‘Healing’ Game
Chapter 413 Welcome to Perfect Life

Chapter 413: Chapter 413 Welcome to Perfect Life

Players who participated in the internal test all knew that "Perfect Life" was an adult game with complex gameplay.

The game underwent multiple internal tests and revisions, deleting many maps and executable actions, but some bugs still remained.

These bugs were unknown to the average person and had never been publicized; only those who were well-connected knew about them, and Liu Guang was one of them.

He was the most notorious paparazzo in Xinhu, none of his money was clean, but what of it?

He hadn’t stolen or robbed; he believed that everything he got was what he deserved, and as for some of the processes involved, no one cared.

Online spectators weren’t interested, and people around him didn’t care either.

Casually discarding his coat, Liu Guang had paid a high price for a limited edition Super Game Box, just to fully enjoy this paradise-like life.

What the true essence of happiness was, what joy and healing were, he really didn’t take them to heart.

Being able to do anything indiscriminately, to laugh madly while someone else cried in distress, unable to resist, that was what he enjoyed.

As a paparazzo, even with all the dirty money, his name could never be above board; he even dared not expose himself to the light.

He had too many enemies in reality; he always hid in the shadows, but in "Perfect Life," he could splurge and go crazy.

Liu Guang had been eyeing this game for a long time, being very astute, he had foreseen years ago that this game would change people’s lives, creating a second virtual world.

Since then, he had been scheming, using his information channels to exchange resources and integrate during the internal test; now, he controlled a lot of confidential information.

Since the game launched, he had been using this information to grow secretly, waiting for the day he could step out from behind the scenes to the front stage.

"Once the goodwill reaches eighty, you can invite the NPC to visit your home, but there is only limited physical contact between regular NPCs and players. However, if the target is a disabled person and you undertake a Nurse mission, you can have more physical contact with that particular NPC."

Even in a healing and heartwarming game, repulsive things existed.

Despair itself does not differentiate between deep and shallow layers; it’s just that many have yet to understand this truth.

"It’s just a pity I had to repeat the task so many times to meet someone decent-looking like you. It would be perfect if it was that Game Guide. Sooner or later, I am going to take that Game Guide down."

Liu Guang locked the door in the game, he tore off the novice’s clothes, madly shouting and continuously provoking that disabled NPC.

"That’s right, ’Perfect Life’ is heaven! I can do whatever I want!"

He reached for that NPC’s wrist, but as he was about to grab it, he felt his consciousness being dragged somewhere, as if he were a fish biting a hook, abruptly leaving the hiding ditch.

When his vision returned, he found that the NPC he had deceived into his home had disappeared, a pungent moldy smell rushing into his nostrils.

Looking around, he discovered he was in a dilapidated bathroom.

"Is it a bug? Or did they enhance NPC protections after the open test? Did they add a mechanism to punish players?"

Covering his nose and mouth, Liu Guang kicked the washbasin: "Stupid Smart Brain, aren’t players playing games for thrills and joy? Not even this bit of fun, this trash game will be abandoned sooner or later."

To raise the NPC’s goodwill above eighty, Liu Guang had been doing tasks revolving around that NPC these past few days, but now that NPC had disappeared.

His anger burned, continuously venting on the objects in the bathroom.

Smashing the mirror, crushing the washbasin, human morals and civilization weren’t reflected on him in the slightest.

"Such a foul smell, what kind of hellish place is this!"

A shadowy figure flashed past in the mirror shards; the person looked sinister and somewhat different from Liu Guang.

"Anyone there! Show yourself breathing!"

Picking up a cup from the washstand used for rinsing, Liu Guang threw it into the living room: "A bunch of NPCs really think they are lords? Games are made for people to play, you are born to be played with!"

He yelled angrily, not even bothering to put on clothes, just like a primal man who had not yet formed the concept of shame, and walked straight out of the bathroom.

"This broken game still plays with punishment mechanisms? I deal with scheming daily in reality, spent so much money on a game box, and you still don’t provide me proper service?"

Just as Liu Guang was about to open the Attribute Panel, he suddenly heard a noise from the living room door.

Turning to look, a man wearing a Beast-faced Mask stood at the door, accompanied by a refined-looking Security Guard.

"No system notification?" Liu Guang was puzzled, but he didn’t care; this was in the game, he could do anything, at worst, he could just scrap the account.

"Both of you come here," he casually beckoned, yet no one inside the room moved their feet.

"Is the set personality indifferent?" Liu Guang looked around, then picked up a mop and dipped it into the toilet: "Come here, let me give your cold face a fresh coat of paint."

Grasping the mop, Liu Guang was planning something when the shower curtain of the bathroom tub fell, revealing a dirty Red Skirt floating in the bathtub.

His eyes twitched, he instinctively took a step back, but quickly recovered.

Seeing Liu Guang’s small movement, the man wearing the Beast-faced Mask spoke, "Ten years ago, did you ever meet a sick Female Live-streamer? She liked to wear white dresses, was sunny, beautiful, constantly bringing encouragement to those around her."

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Liu Guang’s expression betrayed him.

"Normally, I should use the various abilities of the neighbors to create illusions and slowly lure you into revealing the truth from that year. But I now feel, you’re not worth wasting my time on," the Beast-faced man moved back to sit, and a blood-red chair was exactly positioned behind him as he sat down.

"If ten years is too far back, think about something more recent. A few months ago, did you drive a young star to suicide?" The man in the beast-faced mask spoke in a low but chilling voice.

"I know nothing." Liu Guang grinned. "Stop playing tricks. If you dare to take off the mask, I have a thousand ways to make you regret it!"

Before he could finish speaking, a shadow suddenly moved closer, and kicked him hard in the lower body, sending him crashing into the wall with immense force.

It was a scene often seen in horror films, replayed in the room: Liu Guang clutched his body, his eyeballs nearly popping out of their sockets.

"If you had admitted that you don’t understand human speech from the start, it would have been fine. There’s plenty in Beast Alley that shares your kind, and I could try each one on you." The man in the beast-faced mask touched the ghost pattern, and a monster composed of fur from various animals appeared behind him. The ghost pattern adhered to the cat-faced monster’s body, binding it so that it couldn’t completely break free from the man.

The moment the cat-faced monster appeared, the atmosphere in the room completely changed; the temperature dropped and the area was filled with a pungent bloody odor.

The monster’s body continued to expand until the head with the cat face touched the ceiling.

Liu Guang’s expression froze, bewildered how such a horrifying sight could exist in a healing-type game!

"I participated in several internal tests, and there weren’t any monsters like this designed in the game!" Liu Guang’s forehead throbbed with pain, and, laying on the floor, he couldn’t even manage to get up.

"If such a psychologically twisted thing like you can exist, why couldn’t my adorable little kitten appear in the game?" The man in the beast-faced mask remained seated the whole time. "Are you scared senseless? It’s just a game for you, so if you are scared, why don’t you try quitting the game?"

Hearing the beast-faced man’s seemingly well-meaning suggestion, Liu Guang didn’t hesitate. He immediately opened the attribute panel, but to his suffocation, the exit button had disappeared!

Where there should have been an option to exit the game, there was now only a blank space!

"I can’t exit!"

The pain in his lower body was now replaced by terror, cold sweat sliding down his cheeks; he suddenly deeply regretted not wearing a shirt, now shivering from the cold.

"Let me ask you one last time, a few months ago did you drive a young star to her death?"

"It has nothing to do with us! We were just doing what we normally do. Who knew she had a mental illness?" Liu Guang frantically refreshed the attribute panel, but still could not find the exit button.

"Your so-called ’normal operations’ involve constantly slandering, spreading rumors, inciting public opinion to hunt down an innocent person? That deceased young star was very beautiful, so you attacked her looks, and when she refused to do those dirty deeds, you framed her for sleeping her way to the top? And now you say her death had nothing to do with you?" The voice of the man in the beast-faced mask grew colder.

"Xia Yilan’s death was others’ doing! I was only in charge of the profits, it was the people below me who went overboard, it really shouldn’t count against me. Besides, based on information provided by a customer, Xia Yilan’s father once worked in a plastic surgery hospital, and she had entered that plastic surgery hospital for a personality makeover when she was very young." Liu Guang looked at the cat-faced head above him, terrified out of his wits, his speech becoming stammered, no longer having his previous bravado.

Xia Yilan was the young star who died some time ago; she was an orphan, her parents had died ten years ago, making her situation all the more pitiable, thus Han Fei also paid more attention to her death.

"Believe me! I truly never thought of driving her to her death initially. That woman had a great personality, definitely not someone who would easily give up her own life." Liu Guang kept explaining, but his explanations only made the surrounding shadows darker, and the grudge was intensifying.

"What’s the name of the plastic surgery hospital she went to?"

"I don’t know! The initial information was provided by that customer, we were only responsible for the actions that followed."

"Who is the customer who drove Xia Yi to her death?" the man with the beast-faced mask ordered the monster with a cat face to stop, "Tell me, and you can go play your ’Perfect Life’."

Liu Guang, clutching his lower body, hardly hesitated before he spoke, "It was a celebrity who became famous for her beauty ten years ago, named Xia Yilan. She looked like Xia Yi when she was young, so she claimed Xia Yi stole her face."

"Xia Yilan?"

"All the information about that plastic surgery hospital was from her. If you want to know more, you can find her!" Liu Guang lay on the ground, "I was just a tool in their hands, I’m innocent, can I leave now?"

"You’ve admitted to the matter concerning Xia Yi, but there’s another issue you haven’t clarified," the man with the beast-faced mask gently waved his hand, and several pale figures dragged a huge delivery box to the door, "Ten years ago, did you drive a female live-streamer to her death? The day she died her skirt was dyed red with her blood."

The pain and fear seeped into Liu Guang’s heart. His outward toughness and fierceness were merely a facade; such trash only dared to bark from the shadows. Once faced with a real tough person, he even trembled when he spoke.

Compared to leaking customer information, Liu Guang hesitated for a long time this time, "Surprised that someone still remembers this, that woman was too pure, we didn’t believe there could be such a person in the world, so we just wanted to test it, to see if her true nature would reveal itself..."

The temperature inside the room had dropped to freezing, and the mist on the windows solidified into dark red blood flowers, as shadows suppressed the anger in their hearts.

"So the reason you drove someone to their death was just that simple."

The man with the beast-faced mask had obtained all the information he wanted. He got up and walked toward the door, "You can start your ’Perfect Life’ now."

"How do I start? How do I start!"

"This here is also ’Perfect Life’; it’s just that the perfect lives good people and bad people play are not quite the same," the man turned and left.

Liu Guang crawled on the ground, and as he reached the doorway, several men in blood-colored security uniforms appeared. They pushed the large delivery box into the room.

"Did this guy just say we were born to be played by others?"

"Don’t bring personal emotions into this, make sure to keep him alive, at least until the Red Skirt returns."

"The malice in his heart is even stronger than ours, can people really become so deformed?"

The security guards talked amongst themselves, ignoring Liu Guang, simply opening the huge delivery box and dumping out various objects drenched in human blood.

"The acting building chief said you like blood buns? We’re here to cater to that hobby," two surviving security guards from Building One tore open Liu Guang’s mouth and stuffed the barely edible items into him.

Screams emerged from a room behind, as Han Fei removed the beast-faced mask, taking Ying Yue with him as they left the floor.

"Xia Yilan? This actress looks unrealistically beautiful. She became hugely popular ten years ago, but it seems she’s the only second-tier actress with no well-known works," Han Fei recalled the list from this year’s film festival, where Xia Yilan was also present, seemingly one of the award presenters.

Han Fei initially only wanted to seek revenge for the Red Skirt, but he ended up with an unexpected find.

"I urgently need the information about that plastic surgery hospital. Once I exit the game, I’ll try to get in touch with Xia Yilan."
