Chapter 295: Chapter 295: The Bloody World When Exiting the Game

Good fortune is rare, but misfortune never comes singly.

Han Fei’s attempt to light the Shrine ended in failure, leaving him in a weakened state, with his Life Value barely clinging to a sliver, any minor scrape now could kill him.

In such an extreme situation, the Gesheng suddenly resurfaced, as if it had locked onto Han Fei, an unshakeable pursuer, impossible to shake off like a maggot in rotting flesh.

"I really shouldn’t have tampered with the Shrine; I must have been marked with the aura of some Unspeakable entity." Han Fei thought of the terrifying eyes within the Shrine, and with a bitter smile, said, "What is this crappy game thinking, allowing a Level 12 player to trigger something meant for Level 30?"

Yimin Street seemed to have plunged into the depths of winter in an instant, even the wind around was imbued with a chilling breath.

Paper Money floated in the air from nowhere, and ever since the Gesheng sounded, the whole street had begun to take on an eerie change.

Carried by Yinglong, Han Fei mustered his courage, and took a quick glance back.

He was determined to understand, even in death, what exactly the Gesheng was.

The street behind him was like a Death Zone, devoid of any sound apart from the Gesheng.

The Gesheng drew nearer and nearer, yet no horrifying thing could be seen.

Because he couldn’t see it, Han Fei felt even more panicked.

This wasn’t a matter of fear; facing the Gesheng, fleeing was an instinct of both his soul and body.

"The target is me, Yinglong, carry me and run towards the Security Company!" Han Fei racked his brains but couldn’t think of a better plan, his only option now was to sacrifice himself to help his neighbors escape.

Yinglong did not speak, as if the thought of abandoning Han Fei had never crossed its mind. Hence, it simply behaved as if it hadn’t heard Han Fei’s words.

"I have my own means of survival. If you all follow me, we will all end up with our souls scattered." Han Fei spoke gravely, "We’ve tidied up the Security Company and figured out the connection between the Security Company and the Death Building. If the Death Building finds out we destroyed the Security Company, they will be even more hostile towards us. At this point, if we lead the Gesheng into the Security Company, it’s highly likely that Death Building will think the Gesheng destroyed everything, believing it slaughtered over a hundred people in the company and took away Butterfly’s human skin."

Even in a life-threatening situation, Han Fei maintained his composure; if things were going bad for him, he would make sure the enemy suffered as well.

Being chased by the Gesheng was extremely dangerous, but within the danger, Han Fei acutely identified an opportunity.

"Seeing as it’s a death with no evidence, regardless of my final outcome, the Gesheng will carry this black mark for me."

There was a harshness in Han Fei’s voice, although he was now the one being chased, it didn’t hinder him from scheming against the Gesheng.

Yinglong obediently ran towards the Security Company, but its hands held tightly onto Han Fei, as if worried of some other plan he might have.

Blood seeped from Yinglong’s One-eyed gaze; it was running at its fastest speed, yet still couldn’t shake off the Gesheng.

Feeling powerless, Yinglong realized that escaping from the presence of the Unspeakable was incredibly difficult.

As they dashed madly, just when the Gesheng felt as if it was right behind them, Yinglong finally entered the Security Company with Han Fei on its back.

Uncertain of the next step, it could only try to move as far away as possible.

In fact, by this time, it had come to the realization that the Gesheng had firmly memorized Han Fei’s scent, and escape was impossible.

If the Gesheng made a full effort, they would never have been able to run this far.

"Yinglong, hold the Spiritual Altar, take everyone and quickly leave this building; come back here for me when it’s Midnight tomorrow!"

The situation was urgent; Han Fei didn’t have time to say much, only grabbing Yinglong’s shoulder and repeating three words: "Trust me."

Perhaps because of uncovering the black cloth of the Shrine, Han Fei had drawn the Gesheng’s attention, and staying together would mean death for everyone.

The best solution now was to give up on Han Fei and let the others go.

At the moment of life and death, no one would easily make the decision to give up their own life, but Han Fei was an exception. His firm eyes and unquestionable tone seemed to convey one thing—he valued the lives of his neighbors and colleagues over his own.

Many principles, Yinglong and the grudges within the Spiritual Altar, weren’t oblivious, just that they had once been hurt too deeply by despair; their crazed consciousness no longer believed in anything.

And now, Han Fei with his actions, was helping them pick up that "thing" they had long since discarded.

Han Fei’s behavior was being watched by the "people" inside the Spiritual Altar; throughout the entire process, Han Fei didn’t show a hint of hesitation or inner conflict, he was completely sincere.

The singing was drawing near. Han Fei gestured for Yinglong to let go.

After several attempts, Yinglong finally set Han Fei down.

"Remember to come back at midnight tomorrow. If I’m still alive, it should appear by then!"

After giving his last piece of advice, the singing had already drifted into the Security Company.

Yinglong and Li Huo smashed the back window of the company. While they were preparing, the Spiritual Altar was suddenly knocked open, and a fearsome Evil Insect crawled out.

It wasn’t too smart, didn’t understand why everyone was running, and as everyone left, it foolishly headed towards Han Fei.

Han Fei couldn’t reason with an insect, but to be honest, seeing Big Evil come running over, he felt a touch of emotion.

"No wonder so many people like to have pets, they are indeed very healing."

To buy his neighbors enough time, Han Fei grabbed Big Evil and entered the elevator, pressing the button for the second floor directly.

He didn’t know if it was going to be too late, mainly because there were no other staircases available in the Security Company.

The elevator doors slowly closed, and as they shut completely, something vaguely appeared at the entrance of the Security Company—it looked like a person.

Watching the numbers on the elevator climb, Han Fei’s heart pounded. Now it was just him and Big Evil left.

As the number on the display turned to two, the singing within the sealed elevator box suddenly grew louder, as if something had grabbed the bottom of the elevator.

The red numbers on the display began to flash. Then, the numbers turned into a human face.

The elevator stopped at that moment, and without a second thought, Han Fei dragged Big Evil and ran out.

The singing followed like a shadow. Han Fei’s facial features twisted, his lips turned black as he stared intently at Big Evil, "Find a nearby place to hide, make sure you’re not discovered! Don’t come to find me for now!"

Having said that, he threw Big Evil from the second floor window, then he ran in the opposite direction.

The singing started resounding in his mind, and until now, Han Fei hadn’t seen the true form of the singing, but the singing seemed to have already entered his body.

Dashing madly down the hallway, until the end, Han Fei’s sweat-soaked back pressed against the door next to him.

There was nowhere to run!

The elevator he had once taken emitted strange noises; the doors opened and closed on their own, spilling out a copious amount of blood.

It’s unclear how much time passed, perhaps a few seconds, or maybe the blink of an eye, suddenly a figure appeared in the corridor!

Without hesitating any further, Han Fei knew that the singing seemed to be able to delay his exit from the game, so before the other party was close, he decisively chose to leave.

Blood painted the world, the entire city was frozen, but something was moving in the corridor before Han Fei’s eyes!
