Chapter 434: Chapter 39 Selling the House_2
"Okay, I’ll listen to you," Shen Chi said, embracing her waist.
Luo Ming’s family arrived quickly; Lin Xiaoguai was just planning to go to the market to buy some tofu when she received a call from Shen Chi saying he had already picked up Luo Ming’s family from the airport.
By the time she had just finished preparing several dishes, she heard the sound of a car engine outside the courtyard.
"Chi, this house isn’t bad at all. It’s definitely a residence for a high-ranking official; the environment here is seriously impressive," Lin Xiaoguai came out of the house and saw Luo Ming appraising the surroundings while praising.
"Brother Ming, Shuzhen," Lin Xiaoguai greeted them with a smile.
Wen Shuzhen, holding Tongtong, came down from the car and said with a laugh, "Didn’t expect us to meet again so soon, right?"
Then, she waved over two boys who were curiously looking at the surroundings, "Jia Min, you’ve met before. This is Jiaxing, come over and say hello to your aunt."
"Auntie."
Compared to his older brother’s carefreeness and his younger brother’s mischief, Jiaxing was clearly more shy. At the age of fifteen or sixteen, he bore a stronger resemblance to their father and looked adorably dazed.
Lin Xiaoguai couldn’t help but laugh and took their hands, "Welcome to come and visit your auntie’s house."
Then, she looked up at everyone and said, "Come in quickly, I’ve prepared several dishes, let’s fill our bellies first."
Once everyone had entered the house, Lin Xiaoguai gave the remaining dishes to Mrs. Zhang to cook and stayed to entertain the guests.
"Have you settled the household registration and the kids’ school transfer procedures?" Shen Chi asked while pouring wine for Luo Ming.
"They were taken care of a while ago, I can pick up the documents in a few days. It’s thanks to the contact you introduced; otherwise, it really wouldn’t have been so easy," Luo Ming took a sip of the wine and sighed, "It’s also good that I acted quickly, or those old folks at home really would have taken a bite out of me."
He said bitterly, "You should have seen it, that bunch of people were fighting like roosters over money. If they hadn’t used Tongtong to make trouble, I really wouldn’t have made up my mind to move to the Capital."
Lin Xiaoguai then discovered that Luo Ming’s family’s move to the Capital was not solely for Tongtong, there were other undercurrents involved.
However, this matter obviously involved family shames, and while it was his prerogative to share, it wasn’t proper for others to inquire.
"Shuzhen, try this steamed meat with rice flour. Shen Chi loves it the most, I cook it frequently and it’s one of my best," Lin Xiaoguai placed a portion of the steamed meat into the bowls of Shuzhen, Jiaxing, and the two children.
Upon tasting a bite, Wen Shuzhen was instantly conquered by the rich flavor that melted in her mouth and gave a thumbs up, "Wanwan, your cooking skills are absolutely amazing."
Lin Xiaoguai humbly replied, "It’s just that I’ve made it a lot."
It was a bittersweet story: although she had tried cooking various cuisines and couldn’t specify which she excelled at, her forte was always the light-flavored dishes she loved to eat. Yet, since marrying Shen Chi and having five children, all meat-lovers, her specialty gradually shifted towards dishes like steamed meat with rice flour, braised pork, sauce-glazed pork trotters, kung pao chicken, boiled beef, sauerkraut fish, fried lamb, and others.
Wen Shuzhen, unaware of her feelings, continued to praise her other dishes as well.
"Speaking of which, Chi, where are all your children?" Luo Ming looked around and asked.
It wasn’t strange that Shen Chi’s eldest son was absent, for he was in school, but he remembered the younger ones weren’t school-age yet?
He had prepared red envelopes, hoping he wouldn’t miss the opportunity to give them out.
"Little Niangao is at school, and the quadruplets are over at Zhi Xin Garden. I plan to arrange for you guys to stay at Zhi Xin Garden; there are many guest rooms, so you’ll have plenty of space. We’ll head over there together later, and you can meet those four debt collectors," Shen Chi said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Luo Ming hesitated a bit, "Wouldn’t staying there be too much of a disturbance for the elders?" On the way here, Shen Chi had already mentioned that several elders in his family lived at the farmstead.
"Don’t worry, each floor at Zhi Xin Garden has external stair access, so coming and going won’t disturb anyone; once the doors are closed, no one bothers anyone else. You’ll stay on the third floor, which is reserved for the children; they usually don’t stay there, and there are many guest rooms, so it will be more convenient for you," Shen Chi reassured him.
Luo Ming breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "Speaking of the house, you should give me a heads-up."
"Weren’t you unsatisfied with the previous few properties?" Shen Chi glared at him first, then continued, "I was actually planning to talk to you about something. There is a residential community at Zhi Xin Garden. Besides a small portion allocated to the staff of the farm, the rest is planned to be sold externally when home prices rise. Since you can’t find a suitable house right now, how about I sell you one of those villas? Or you could pick out one of the apartments if you prefer."
Luo Ming was somewhat surprised; he was in real estate himself and understood the upcoming trends in home prices. If Shen Chi sold the house to him now, he might incur significant loss later on.
"Let’s go have a look first; if it’s satisfactory, we can then discuss what comes next." Luo Ming decided that if he found one he liked, he would buy it for one and a half times the market price to avoid shortchanging his brother.
"Of course," Shen Chi was not worried at all that Luo Ming wouldn’t like the houses at Zhi Xin Garden.
The design plans Wanwan had initially presented had already surprised him, and by now, he guessed that the designs, far beyond average standards, must have something to do with her little secret.
After all that had happened, he understood that anything related to Wanwan’s secret was basically guaranteed to be good.
Those houses wouldn’t just look pretty; he remembered the construction teams saying that the foundations at Zhi Xin Garden were laid very solidly, plus there were those building materials he hadn’t seen elsewhere...
