Chapter 204: Chapter 26 Uninvited Guest_2

"Does this mean we won’t be able to stay long and have to move?" Lin Xiaoguai frowned.

"What’s wrong, aren’t you happy?" Shen Chi wondered, "Isn’t the house we are living in now even smaller than the one in Shanghai? Wouldn’t it be better to switch to a bigger one?" He felt that the current house was beneath Wanwan.

Lin Xiaoguai gave him a look, "Then why didn’t you say so earlier? I had everything arranged, and now you tell me this, are you trying to infuriate me?"

Later, Shen Chi realized he had made a dumb mistake and hugged Lin Xiaoguai to appease her, "It’s my fault. As compensation, I will definitely secure the best house for you."

"When the time comes, you’ll be my little soldier, doing chores at my command," Lin Xiaoguai glared at him.

"At your service, commander!" Shen Chi playfully kissed her lips.

The next day, Lin Xiaoxi called to say that Lin Xiaoxue’s condition had significantly improved. Before Lin Xiaoguai had time to celebrate, an unexpected visitor arrived at their home.

"How come you are here?" Lin Xiaoguai frowned as she saw Lu Rong in front of the door.

Lu Rong snorted and turned her head away without giving Lin Xiaoguai a glance.

"That... Are you a classmate of Lin Xiaoguai?" A middle-aged woman with a kind face asked somewhat awkwardly.

"Yes, that’s me. May I help you?" Lin Xiaoguai sized up the woman, fair and plump; she thought if this woman was Lu Rong’s mother, Lu Rong definitely took after her father; they looked nothing alike.

But wasn’t Lu Rong an out-of-towner?

"May we come in to talk?" The middle-aged woman still looked embarrassed.

Lin Xiaoguai didn’t really want to entertain Lu Rong. Sighing, she stepped aside, "Please come in."

"Wanwan, who’s here?" Shen Chi happened to come out from inside.

Lin Xiaoguai was unsure how to introduce them for a moment. Involuntarily, she glanced at Lu Rong, catching the unusual sparkle in her eyes as she looked at Shen Chi.

"Lin Xiaoguai, is this your brother?"

Lin Xiaoguai was startled and only after a long pause did she realize that Lu Rong was speaking to her.

"I’m Wanwan’s lover. And you are?" Interpreting something from Lin Xiaoguai’s expression, Shen Chi wrapped his arm around her and voluntarily answered.

Lin Xiaoguai was a bit perplexed, wondering if she was mistaken. Just now, had she seen a vicious look in Lu Rong’s eyes?

Shen Chi, however, did not think he had seen wrongly as Lin Xiaoguai might. He squinted at Lu Rong, then said, "Alright, let’s talk inside."

As they sat down inside, Lu Rong immediately began scrutinizing the living room’s decor, her gaze audacious and unreserved, showing little regard for the hosts—or rather, no regard for Lin Xiaoguai and obvious interest in Shen Chi.

Lin Xiaoguai felt disgusted. Having seen many people in her two lifetimes, Lu Rong’s brazenness was indeed enlightening.

"Um... my last name is Huang, and I’m Lu Rong’s aunt." The middle-aged woman, witnessing Lu Rong’s behavior, looked increasingly uneasy and bit her lip, "I’m here hoping Lin Xiaoguai could vouch for Lu Rong at the school, proving she didn’t steal your belongings. As compensation, I can give you one thousand yuan."

Saying this, Mrs. Huang took out a thick stack of money from her bag.

"She stole your belongings?" Shen Chi looked discontentedly at Lin Xiaoguai, wondering why Wanwan hadn’t mentioned such a thing since she returned.

"There were too many things..."

"Nonsense, it’s her who falsely accused me!" Lin Xiaoguai hadn’t finished speaking when Lu Rong jumped up, pointed at her, and scolded, "You shameless bitch, it was you who sneakily put the face cream under my pillow to frame me. Acting so righteous?"

Lin Xiaoguai felt numbed by Lu Rong’s antics, not surprised in the least.

Mrs. Huang’s face flushed with a look of utter humiliation; clearly knowing Lu Rong well, she didn’t believe a word she said.

Shen Chi’s face suddenly darkened; this woman was bullying Wanwan right in front of him—did she think he was dead?

"Miss, please refrain from maligning my partner in front of me." His words were polite, but his anger was palpable to anyone not blind.

Lu Rong pouted, tears in her eyes as she looked imploringly at Shen Chi, her expression meek.

Lin Xiaoguai felt chillingly disgusted; could Lu Rong be any more shameless?

Mrs. Huang’s facial expression was beyond simply unattractive at this point. Unable to tolerate it anymore, she burst out, "Lu Rong, shut your mouth!"

It seemed Mrs. Huang’s anger made Lu Rong wary; she reluctantly lowered her head. Mrs. Huang turned to Lin Xiaoguai and gave an embarrassed smile, "About my earlier proposal..."

"I refuse," Lin Xiaoguai said resolutely, "I’m sorry, but I don’t need the one thousand yuan." Plus, she wasn’t foolish; if she really went to the teachers and overturned the case proving Lu Rong hadn’t stolen from her, wouldn’t that be slapping her own face? What would the teachers think? Lu Rong didn’t seem the type to feel grateful—in fact, she might even turn around and claim she’d been framed by Lin Xiaoguai, who would have nowhere to cry by then.

Speaking so nicely, isn’t it just that you think the money is too little?" Lu Rong scoffed, "Pretending to be so high and mighty, you’re nothing but a greedy wretch!"

Lin Xiaoguai frowned, Lu Rong calling her a bitch was really starting to infuriate her. She didn’t bother anyone who didn’t bother her, but if it continued, she wouldn’t mind taking some measures to get her expelled from Capital University.

Slap—

Shen Chi moved so quickly that those present hadn’t even reacted when Lu Rong was slapped so hard that she sprawled onto the couch.

"Don’t treat my words as bullshit!" Shen Chi’s face was icy, his words slicing like a knife. "If you want to act tough, get out. If you can’t control that filthy mouth of yours, I’ll cut out your tongue!" Once his bottom line was crossed, he didn’t care whether it was a man or a woman—he could be ruthless.

Shen Chi’s years on the battlefield were not for nothing; the moment he unleashed his presence, although Lin Xiaoguai and Mrs. Huang, who weren’t targeted, were merely shocked, Lu Rong, twisting her bleeding mouth and about to curse, was terrified. Her wide eyes trembled like chaff.
