Chapter 199: Chapter 24 I Miss You So Much

Seeing the cream bottle identical to the one in her hand, Lu Rong’s gaze sharpened, but she retorted, "So what, is there a rule that only you can have this cream? This just shows that you and I bought the same thing."

She paused, then continued spitefully, "Moreover, your cream is still there. To say it was stolen, could it be that you planned this from the start?"

Lin Xiaoguai almost laughed out of anger. Since the first day of school, Lu Rong had struck her as ’gloomy and reticent’, yet here she was, remarkably sharp-tongued and making trouble without reason.

Zhu Huixi and Yang Xiaoli were also dumbfounded. They had seen shameless behavior before, but this was their first encounter with someone like Lu Rong.

Aunt Jin felt a headache coming on. She looked at Lin Xiaoguai and asked, "Do you have anything to say?" She naturally hoped Lin Xiaoguai could provide solid evidence to prove the cream was hers, as she was tired of dealing with Lu Rong’s relentless lies.

"You actually got that right." Lin Xiaoguai rubbed her temples and said to Lu Rong, "This cream is indeed made by only me, because it’s not bought but made by myself, and there are only two bottles. If you were more observant, you would have noticed the ’Lww’ sketched in golden cursive at the bottom of the bottle. My official name registered in the family book is Lin Xiaoguai, but that was a registration error. Xiao Guai is just a nickname. My real full name is Lin Wanwan, and Lww are the initials of my full name, specially requested when I had the bottle made."

Seeing Lu Rong opening her mouth to argue again, Lin Xiaoguai impatiently cut her off, "If you can find cream bottles exactly like these two outside, I will apologize to you in front of the entire school and admit that I wronged you."

She was truly fed up with dealing with Lu Rong. Yes, she disliked engaging in verbal disputes, but that doesn’t mean she would let people falsely accuse her.

Lu Rong glared, huffed, and threw the cream bottle onto the ground. With a crack, the shattered glass scattered, but she suddenly stopped herself.

A faint scent of rose spread in the room, delicately permeating the heart and offering the highest olfactory pleasure.

Aunt Jin’s expression changed. Knowing the scent, she recognized that the cream, though homemade, was certainly of high value, its worth hard to estimate. She initially didn’t intend to escalate the matter, thinking a warning would suffice and at least offer this student a chance to reform. However, if the cream’s value exceeded expectations, it wouldn’t be for her to decide, especially since this student was clearly unrepentant.

Involuntarily, she looked toward Lin Xiaoguai.

Lin Xiaoguai, not understanding her gaze, thought for a moment and said, "A bottle of cream doesn’t mean much to me, but I would rather Lu Rong realize her own mistake."

She wouldn’t downplay the cream’s worth to diminish Lu Rong’s fault. Of course, she wasn’t going to pursue it further, for how to deal with Lu Rong was up to the school.

Understanding her implication, Aunt Jin breathed a sigh of relief and said, "You all tidy up and go to sleep. You, come with me," the latter directed at Lu Rong.

Before leaving, Lu Rong turned to glance at Lin Xiaoguai, her look indescribably chilling.

"Xiao Guai, why do I feel that Lu Rong’s gaze seems somewhat sinister?" Zhu Huixi said, patting her chest fearfully.

"It’s not just seeming." Yang Xiaoli rolled her eyes and sighed dejectedly, "How unlucky to end up with such a roommate."

Lin Xiaoguai and Zhu Huixi exchanged glances. Weren’t they unfortunate? To meet a thieving roommate at Capital University, what luck was that?

"Alright, just be more careful with your belongings in the future, especially valuable items. Lock them in drawers and cabinets," Lin Xiaoguai sighed.

If possible, she wished roommates could get along harmoniously and more freely.

The next day when they went to the cafeteria, Lu Rong’s warning was issued, but what she did to receive such a sanction was not disclosed. Speculation was rife, and though classmates queried Lin Xiaoguai and the others, seeing that they had to live under the same roof in the future, they didn’t reveal anything. However, they no longer harbored any desire to get along well with Lu Rong, especially after her exposed behavior left them uneasy.

Thus, a strange scene emerged in dorm 406: Lin Xiaoguai, Zhu Huixi, and Yang Xiaoli chatting and laughing together, while Lu Rong remained isolated.
