Chapter 165 Second Sister
Chapter 165: Chapter 165 Second Sister
Shen Liguang led her out from the stairwell, and the nurse glanced at them, the girl’s lips were red and swollen, clearly understanding.
"Family of ward 2121?"
"Mm-hm."
"There’s something I want to talk to you about."
The nurse said a lot, and Fu Ying listened quietly by the side.
"Just now I explained tomorrow’s surgery to the elderly lady, and she disagrees. See if you can try convincing her."
Shen Liguang nodded: "Okay, thank you."
"That’s all, I won’t bother you two any longer."
When the nurse said "I won’t bother you two" again, there was an obvious chuckle in her voice. Fu Ying buried her head a bit lower, her fingers digging tightly into his palm.
"Can you be a bit more restrained in the future, brother?" she frowned, complaining.
"I can." He smiled.
Fu Ying licked her lips, which were sore, "Don’t be like this in the future."
"Like what?" The man asked knowingly with a smile on his face, teasing her.
Fu Ying looked at him with sorrowful eyes and ignored him.
Shen Liguang lowered his head, his fingers gently touching her lips, attractively red.
"Are you being coquettish or angry?" His voice was deep and pleasant.
Fu Ying moved her mouth and said softly, "Angry."
"It looks more like you’re being coquettish." He examined her lips closely, they were red and swollen, "No worries, my mom’s eyesight isn’t good; she’ll think you’re wearing lipstick."
Fu Ying slapped his hand, which he caught and kissed near his lips: "Shall we go in?"
Fu Ying’s hand felt warm in his palm.
Inside the ward, there was only the sound from the TV, Li Ruolan was peeling sugar-roasted chestnuts, her eyes fixated on the television.
Hearing some noise by the door, she immediately turned her head to look.
Fu Ying called out, "Auntie."
Li Ruolan turned her head and saw Fu Ying, her face lighting up with surprise, "Ah, Yingying is here? Come here quickly; I’ve peeled lots of chestnuts for you to eat."
Li Ruolan put the peeled chestnuts in a box as if she had specifically saved them for her.
Fu Ying took them without being bashful: "Thank you, auntie."
"There’s no need to be polite with auntie, please don’t ever be formal with auntie."
Fu Ying obediently nodded: "Okay."
Li Ruolan gestured for her to sit by the bed, giving all the peeled chestnuts to Fu Ying.
"Auntie’s favorite is the Ji Family’s sugar-roasted chestnuts; Li Guang always buys them for me, try some."
Fu Ying was trying this for the first time, putting the chestnut Li Ruolan gave her into her mouth; it was indeed quite tasty.
Li Ruolan looked at her with a smile and asked, "Tasty, right? If you want to eat more, just ask Brother Li Guang to buy them for you."
Fu Ying bent the corners of her eyes and nodded: "Tasty."
The window was open, and gusts of wind blew in. Shen Liguang walked over to close it.
Li Ruolan noticed Fu Ying’s swollen red lips and glanced at her son, a person who had been through it all, understanding everything.
Purposely asking, "Yingying, have you put on lipstick?"
"Ah?" Fu Ying touched her lips subconsciously, feeling very guilty, "Right, right, I met up with some high school friends today, so I did some makeup."
Li Ruolan saw her flushed face and looked deeply at her son: "In the future, let Brother Li Guang buy whatever cosmetics you like."
Fu Ying licked her lips, slightly bowing her head, embarrassed.
Shen Liguang could see Li Ruolan was teasing the young girl, who became easily embarrassed and would blush at the slightest tease.
"Mom, we’ve arranged surgery for you tomorrow; make sure you get a good night’s sleep tonight."
"Just take medicine and treatment, there’s no need for surgery."
"The doctor said that surgery would be the better option for your condition, we should follow the hospital’s arrangements."
"I don’t want surgery. The doctor also said that medication could possibly lead to a full recovery. I’m going to visit my uncle in a couple of days, it’s not like it’s a serious illness."
Li Ruolan was stubborn as could be, no matter how Shen Liguang tried to persuade her, she just wouldn’t agree to tomorrow’s surgery.
Shen Liguang had no choice but to compromise.
Fu Ying spent a while sitting with Li Ruolan, chatting for a bit, mostly inquiring about her mother.
That stretch of memory that didn’t belong to her was particularly hazy, and several times when Li Ruolan asked her something, she almost couldn’t respond.
Every Qingming Festival, Fu Mingchuan would take her to visit the graves. The photograph on the tombstone showed a woman smiling vividly, delicate and pretty, the epitome of a gentlewoman from Jiangnan. She really did bear a resemblance to the mother she had never met.
After staying in the hospital for about two hours, Du Yong and the others’ gathering should have been ending, so Li Ruolan hurried them to leave.
Saying there was no need for anyone to stay with her, Shen Liguang dropped her off at home and then hurried back to the hospital.
Fu Ying watched him drive away, disappearing from sight before turning and entering the house.
Fu Yan, looking like he had an urgent fire to put out, grabbed his coat from the sofa and headed out, appearing quite hurried.
Fu Ying asked, "Little brother, where are you going?"
Fu Yan didn’t turn his head, casually throwing his coat over his shoulder and left a message: "Taming a wild horse."
The wind roared past his ears as Fu Yan drove quickly, arriving at the restaurant where Jin Can and the rich second generation were supposed to meet in less than ten minutes.
As soon as he walked in and saw his reflection in the glass, so handsome, so prone to stirring trouble.
Fu Yan then backed out, giving a glance at the ladies’ clothing shop next door...
He reappeared with curves in all the right places, dressed in a burgundy long dress, with long black straight hair, a sexy goddess.
Jin Can was eye-catching with her wavy hair, and as Fu Yan entered, he immediately saw her at a table, chatting and laughing away with the rich second gen. He prepared to find a place nearby when suddenly he saw his sister-in-law, holding her belly, heading towards the door.
Damn!
What was a pregnant woman doing here?
Fu Yan quickly hitched up his dress, planning to hide, but unfortunately bumped into someone.
Wu Xiaowu and others were responding to a call. They had missed dinner due to being busy and were starving. They just came in to grab some food and unexpectedly ran into his former online romance.
Wu Xiaowu had a vivid memory of his past online love and recognized her at a glance.
"Is, is that you?"
Wu Xiaowu examined Fu Yan up and down, his gaze landing on his chest, feeling that the size wasn’t quite right and began to doubt if it was the same online love object.
Fu Yan immediately covered his face with his hands, denying, "No, it’s not, you’ve got the wrong person."
"Ah?" Wu Xiaowu scratched his head in embarrassment, then moved aside to let him pass, "Sorry, my mistake."
Fu Yan steadied himself and walked towards the door. Seeing his older brother finishing payment at the counter and heading inside, his heart sank.
Fuck!
He knew his sister-in-law wouldn’t come here alone. Today was such a fucking retrograde day, bumping into acquaintances all over.
Even though he walked past his brother exuding charm, hips swaying more than any woman, he was still recognized by his brother.
"You’ve got quite the hobby."
Fu Yan swallowed hard, clenched a small fist, and gave Fu Yi a light punch in the chest: "Stop teasing – what hobbies could I possibly have, handsome? You really know how to hit on someone in such a unique way."
Fu Yi couldn’t help but laugh: "What is wrong with you? Do you want me to go home and tell dad about your interest in cross-dressing?"
"What are you talking about? Handsome, you’ve made a mistake – I have urgent things to attend to, I’m leaving."
Fu Yi reached out and accidentally pulled off Fu Yan’s wig, and Fu Yan’s body stiffened on the spot.
Xia Jinyun, with her belly protruded, sized up Fu Yan from behind: "Who is this person?"
Fu Yan inhaled sharply, grabbed the bothersome dress, and fled through the door.
Xia Jinyun looked on in astonishment, asking Fu Yi, "Who was that just now? Dressed so strangely."
Fu Yi thought for a moment, "Hmm, that’s your second sister."
