My Creation Came to Life on an Island in Another World -
Chapter 38: Some Time with Luxian
Chapter 38: Some Time with Luxian
With a distortion in space, a small white hole formed in front of a double iron gate.
As the white hole slightly expanded, Luxian and Khan emerged from it, still embracing each other.
The moment they appeared, the distortion vanished, and the white hole shrank until it disappeared completely.
Khan, realizing they had arrived, released her from his embrace, while she tightened hers even more.
Feeling the pressure increase, his orbs faded,
...This is going to break my back. What is she thinking?
Khan lightly held Luxian’s waist while gently pushing her back.
As he pushed, he noticed Luxian’s resistance and then spoke,
"We’ve arrived, Luxian..."
With a brief silence between them, she let go and said,
"Sorry..."
As she apologized, she covered the redness on her face with her wings.
Khan looked at Luxian’s face, now hidden by her wings, and replied in his cold tone,
"No problem..."
While his voice remained cold, in his mind, he tried to understand what led her to hug him so tightly.
Did she want it to continue?
As he asked himself this, a few pieces began to fit, and he concluded,
Did she trick me?...
Khan had that doubt because he knew Luxian’s pride—she would never cry over something so trivial like a flick, or even a reprimand.
He finished his thoughts with,
Maybe I’m just overthinking?
With that internal doubt, he stood still, while silence took over the place.
Luxian looked at Khan with a hint of fear and doubt,
Did he find out?
Trying to escape the situation, she broke the silence between them and asked in the most normal tone she could manage,
"Is this where we’re spending the night?"
Khan, pulled back to reality, his blue orbs returning to his hollow sockets, replied coldly,
"Yes."
After replying, he looked at her, but only for a few seconds before turning his gaze toward the gate.
Moving forward, he dragged some of the snow that had piled up on the ground, leaving deep footprints all the way to the gate.
Luxian, realizing Khan was about to open the gate, stored her katana in her inventory and quickly approached.
With the two of them now by the gate, Khan merely touched it, causing it to open and shift the snow that had accumulated in the yard.
With their steps muffled by the snow beneath their feet, they walked along a small trail leading to the house’s front door.
On either side of the narrow path was a beautiful snow-covered garden, from which various ice flowers sprouted.
As they approached the door, Khan looked at the doorknob, his sockets hollow again, lost in thought,
Who used to take care of this house?
After a few seconds, Luxian, who was behind him, looked at him with concern and asked,
"Is something wrong, Khan?"
Breaking from his thoughts due to the question, his blue orbs returned, and he replied coldly, placing his hand on the doorknob,
"It’s nothing..."
Turning the knob and opening the door, a warm breeze flowed out from within, and the stronger lights inside partially illuminated the entrance.
Inside, a 300cm tall bear stood upright, stitched together from various fabrics of different colors, taller than Khan.
Looking at the top of its head, there was a slight U-shaped depression, caused by the small 130cm fairy lying between its ears.
Her face carried a sleepy expression, her eyes half-open, revealing half of her blue irises.
Her hair was short and silver, and she wore a dull blue dress. Lazy fairy wings rested against her back.
Khan, locking eyes on the small fairy, recalled her name,
Fuyu... I’m surprised I still remember so many names...
Upon hearing her name in his thoughts, the fairy let out a soft, cute yawn,
"Uwah~..."
With her mouth open, a tiny tear escaped as she finished yawning.
After yawning, she continued,
"Welcome~..."
As she greeted them, her head drooped due to the exhaustion of simply lifting it to look at them.
Khan, well aware of her settings, didn’t mind, and replied coldly,
"Yes..."
Luxian responded more warmly than Khan, saying,
"Thank you, Fuyu."
As they entered, the warmth from inside embraced them.
Once both were inside, Luxian closed the door behind them.
As she did, Khan asked while looking at Fuyu,
"Can you take us to the living room?"
Too lazy to lift her head, she only responded with a soft grunt,
"Uhum~..."
Khan understood that as a "yes", which was correct.
The bear walked down the small hallway that connected the rooms.
Khan followed closely with Luxian by his side.
At the first right turn, they found their destination—a spacious living room with several framed pictures on the walls. In the center, two sofas faced each other, and further back, a lit fireplace warmed the room.
The bear headed toward one of the sofas, and upon reaching it, sat down and then lay across it, sprawling its massive body over the entire couch.
For a moment, Fuyu hovered above, waiting for the bear to settle in.
Even after settling, part of the bear still hung off the sofa, but it had stopped moving, and Fuyu simply lay down on its large belly, which sank slightly under her.
While she got comfortable, Khan and Luxian had already reached the sofa across from them.
As they sat down and relaxed into the cushions, Fuyu half-opened her eyes and said,
"What brings the creator..."
She didn’t finish the sentence, but Khan understood it as "What brings the creator to this place?"
Taking it that way, Khan looked at her and replied in his cold tone,
"We’re just here for the night..."
Looking into her creator’s eyes, she answered in her lazy tone,
"Hm~... make yoursel..."
Another sentence she didn’t finish, but this time she fell asleep.
Hearing the soft, cute snores from the fairy, Khan sighed as his orbs faded away,
At least finish before you fall asleep...
Bringing his blue orbs back, he observed her sleeping for a while as the room fell into complete silence, save for the fairy’s soft snores.
Luxian felt slightly bothered by the silence and tried to suggest something,
"So... want to train a bit?"
A typical suggestion from someone who lives constantly at war.
Khan, hearing the question, turned his blue orbs toward Luxian and then let them fade again,
This night is going to be long...
Khan just wanted to rest and not do anything that would drain him further.
Bringing his blue orbs back while looking at Luxian, he replied, trying to avoid the situation.
"Do we have other options?"
Luxian stayed quiet with a thoughtful expression.
A few seconds passed, and sensing she wouldn’t respond, he continued,
"Maybe I do..."
He opened his inventory and searched for the specific book he wanted, making it appear in his hand extended in front of him.
He simply opened the book. Luxian, seeing that, understood what Khan intended and just watched.
With the sound of flipping pages and faint snores in the background, Luxian grew bored and leaned her head on Khan’s shoulder.
The moment she did, Khan immediately noticed and glanced at her from the corner of his eye, seeing her bored expression as she stared at the book he was reading, making him wonder,
Was I too cold with her?
Without voicing that doubt, he returned his attention to the book and continued reading.
As he turned the pages, the sound echoed through the room. Luxian, unable to resist the peaceful atmosphere and being so close to someone she deeply trusted, fell asleep.
After a few more minutes, Khan glanced at her sleeping face again from the corner of his eye. He let out a light sigh through his nose.
Resting his head against hers, he continued flipping the pages while reading.
A few hours had passed since he rested his head against Luxian’s. Now straightening himself, he closed the book he had finished reading and set it on his lap. His orbs faded again,
It seems that magic in this world works a bit differently from the island’s abilities...
Firstly, all spells are like combinations of small symbols around the edges of their circles.
Secondly, the magic they use is a fusion of ancient draconic spells, so it’s likely that the dragons of this world can use them without delay...
Thirdly, the center of the circle functions like my compiler, it gathers the words around and transforms them into an action...
After summarizing the book in his thoughts, his orbs returned and turned toward Luxian, who was still asleep.
Again, his orbs faded as he began thinking more carefully about Luxian’s situation,
Why did she fall asleep? ...I remember writing that the Equinox race doesn’t need sleep.
With no answer to the strange situation he faced, he thought of something else,
Maybe if someone of the same race is nearby, they can sleep? If so, then something has been altered...
Upon reaching that conclusion, his blue orbs began to glow again. Looking at the book on his lap, he picked it up and stored it back in his inventory.
Trying to reach an answer, he closed his eyes and leaned his head once more against Luxian’s.
With the calm atmosphere, he was able to relax and clear his mind.
After a few minutes with his eyes closed, surprisingly, he fell asleep.
