My Creation Came to Life on an Island in Another World -
Chapter 34: The Start of a Meeting
Chapter 34: The Start of a Meeting
The next morning, Yuri was getting ready to head toward the island’s vicinity.
His maids were dressing him while his thoughts remained confused.
Should I really go...? It might be too dangerous... What if I show up and they just decide to attack?
Yuri kept wondering whether going was the right decision or not. After thinking for a while, he came to a conclusion.
There’s no turning back now... The way the country is right now, showing weakness might just make things worse...
With his courage renewed and fully dressed, he left his room to meet with the leader of the Royal Guard.
As he walked down the corridor, he spotted a woman dressed in the robes of a court mage—long black hair, and orange eyes that revealed her mixed dragon blood.
She was the first to speak when their eyes met.
"It seems Your Highness is already all set."
Yuri shivered slightly at her words, not used to that tone, and quickly replied,
"Hearing you try to be formal gives me chills."
"Ara~, but wasn’t I supposed to call you ’Your Highness’?"
Yuri paused briefly before responding,
"You know exactly what I mean, Vivianne."
Vivianne smiled slightly and replied,
"So boring~ You know, you’ve changed a lot since you grew up. You used to be such a cute little kid~"
Yuri just sighed, not knowing what else to say.
Can’t do anything about her. I was the one who brought her along... I’ll just have to endure it...
"Alright, alright... forget it. I’m heading out to meet the leader of the Royal Guard."
"Hm~, then I’m coming too~"
"Hm? And why?"
"Oh, I forgot~, but I’ve decided to come~ ...I’m curious about the beings on that island."
Yuri sighed again, already tired of dealing with someone so troublesome.
"Do what you want..."
"Okay~"
Yuri continued his walk to the training grounds, no longer alone thanks to Vivianne.
As they got close, he could already hear the Royal Guard’s leader beginning a short speech.
"Everyone here seems to already have a sense of today’s mission, but I’ll go over it again so there’s no doubt."
The leader paused briefly and continued,
"We will do what we do best—protect the royal family. This time, it’s from unknown beings, but that’s no reason to be afraid. We were trained for moments like this. That’s why we can’t back down."
With another short pause, he raised his voice,
"So, WHAT IS OUR MISSION!?"
Everyone shouted in unison,
"PROTECT!!!"
Satisfied with the response, he said,
"That’s it! Now, everyone get ready to depart soon!"
Finally, the Royal Guard’s leader noticed Yuri and Vivianne’s presence.
Yuri, seeing his glance, simply nodded toward a nearby door and walked in.
The leader, understanding the signal, followed him.
Once inside the room and after closing the door, the first thing he did was kneel and say,
"Good morning, Your Highness. This humble serv—"
Yuri interrupted,
"Tateo, you know I don’t care about those formalities, right?"
Tateo bowed his head.
"My apologies, Your Highness..."
After hearing the apology, Yuri continued,
"It’s fine. I just came to see if preparations are going well."
"Yes, everything is going smoothly. We’re practically ready, just waiting on your orders, Your Highness."
Yuri paused a moment, then said,
"We’ll be leaving in 20 minutes."
Tateo stood up and responded,
"As you wish, Your Highness. If you’ll excuse me, I’ll take my leave."
He exited the room, leaving only the two behind.
Vivianne was the one who broke the silence.
"Twenty minutes... not a lot of time when everything’s ready, huh~?"
Yuri, who was standing next to her, replied,
"We still have to wait for the nobles joining us."
"Ah~, so the old perverts are coming too~"
Yuri could only think,
"Does she seriously think there’s anyone older than her?"
Vivianne seemed to catch onto his thoughts and stepped closer to him.
She adjusted his collar and, with her face near his, said,
"Looks like someone’s thinking about things they shouldn’t~"
Yuri gave her hand a light slap and fixed his collar himself as he stood up.
"You know that kind of teasing doesn’t work on me anymore. So spare me."
Vivianne just played along,
"Huh~, my little Yuri grew up so fast. Now I’ll be all lonely~"
"Give it a rest..."
They left the room and waited while watching the courtyard.
After 20 minutes, with the nobles now gathered, they departed for the island.
Everyone had their own griffin as they flew through the morning sky. The island was still just a shape on the distant horizon, but its massive size was already clear.
After a peaceful flight, they neared the island, ready to land and await a response.
But before they could descend, a deafening roar echoed from the island.
Vivianne was the first to recognize the sound and turned to Yuri.
"Careful, that was a dragon."
Yuri responded, now more alert.
"Got it..."
Only seconds passed before what emerged from the island turned into a nightmare for everyone present.
A colossal black dragon appeared, crowned with twisted iron, from which chains hung down, clinking against the metal. Its eyes glowed orange, nearly red.
Upon seeing it, the griffins froze midair and refused to move forward.
The dragon seemed to notice their presence and began flying toward them.
A powerful wind surged. The only one who remained stable was Vivianne, thanks to the wings she had materialized.
Once it got close enough, the dragon spoke with a thunderous voice,
"I permit thee to land upon my back."
With little choice, they moved up above the dragon.
As it passed beneath them, they noticed eight figures standing atop its back.
Yuri recognized three from previous reports. The others were still unknown.
Landing near those figures, they dismounted their griffins.
The first to speak was a black-feathered angel.
"Looks like you saved us a whole trip."
Yuri answered with a forced laugh,
"Hahaha, yeah... who would’ve thought we’d visit each other around the same time?"
The angel narrowed her eyes with disdain.
"And who are you?"
Yuri felt a drop of sweat on his face as he replied,
"I’m Prince Yuri Ocena of Azure, the acting regent."
The angel just narrowed her gaze further, and Yuri thought,
What’s with that look? Is it my clothes? Do I not act like royalty?
This time, the only man among the group spoke,
"That’s enough, Azathoth."
"If my creator commands it."
With Azathoth now quiet, the white figure with blue eyes continued,
"I am Khan, absolute ruler of the Vazio."
Yuri reached out a hand.
"It’s a pleasure."
Khan simply stared for a moment and ignored it, turning instead to ask,
"How many will join you at the meeting?
Embarrassed, Yuri took a moment to think about who he brought before answering,
"Seven."
"Alright..." With a pause, he added, "Velrigar, create a space for eighteen people."
Black-scaled walls rose up, forming a structure. A roof sealed it in.
Soon after, the scales turned white, and a large opening appeared on one side.
Though the place wasn’t exactly beautiful, it offered shelter from the sun. Khan walked toward it, followed by the others.
Yuri followed as well, assuming that was the proper thing to do.
Khan entered while the others waited outside. He created a table and eighteen chairs. Once they were formed, the women who had followed him entered and sat down.
Yuri quickly selected Vivianne, Tateo, and five nobles to accompany him.
Upon entering and seeing the size of the chairs, they felt slightly embarrassed when their feet couldn’t touch the floor.
With everyone seated, Azathoth spoke:
"Then, let’s begin the meeting."
