Chapter 81: Chapter 80: No One Left Alive
Lu Zixun lifted his paw, trying to grab the thing.
Unfortunately.
Apparently, his paw wasn’t long enough; the silver thing hit Lu Zixun’s pad and fell on the floor.
"Ding—Detecting teasing value from Si Keke: +500."
"Meow!"
Pretending to be fierce, he lifted his head and let out a roar at Si Keke.
Lu Zixun stretched out his paw and fiddled with the silver thing.
It looked a bit like a key and a bit like a whistle.
As Lu Zixun was pondering over the purpose of this thing, Si Keke spoke from the side, "This thing is called the Silver Whistle. It’s for finding me. If you blow it, I can locate you."
"emmm..."
Hearing its use, Lu Zixun’s whiskers quivered, and he said in surprise, "Sister, have you never heard of something called a smartphone?"
"Ding—Detecting surprise value from Si Keke: +500."
"You can use a smartphone?"
Looking at Lu Zixun in disbelief, Si Keke felt her worldview crumbling.
A talking cat was one thing.
But now it was telling her that it could use a smartphone, which was a bit beyond Si Keke’s comprehension.
"?"
Lu Zixun looked at Si Keke with a face full of question marks, "Looking down on cats, huh!"
Just as he was about to pull out his phone to show Si Keke.
Lu Zixun discovered in dismay that during his escape earlier, he seemed to have left his phone somewhere.
He stretched out his paw and fastened the Silver Whistle to his collar, and as he looked at the bunch of stuff hanging around his neck, he suddenly felt very tired.
"Let’s get going, shall we?"
About to take his leave after receiving a favor, Lu Zixun was suddenly lifted by the neck by Si Keke.
"Where are you going?"
Ignoring Lu Zixun’s murderous gaze, Si Keke asked.
"Back to the sto."
Slapping Si Keke’s paw, Lu Zixun jumped onto the couch and licked his paw, "I mean, why do you care so much about where I’m going?"
Sitting next to Lu Zixun with her legs crossed, Si Keke said indifferently, "You’d better not go anywhere today."
Turning his head to examine Si Keke, Lu Zixun’s mouth twitched slightly as he lazily lay on the couch, "What’s up, have your prophecies kicked in again?"
Before Si Keke could nod, Lu Zixun added morosely, "How come I didn’t see you predicting Yunyang showing up just now."
Upon hearing this.
Si Keke clenched her fist fiercely, struggling to suppress the urge to strangle this little bastard, took a deep breath, and steadied her emotions.
"I don’t know why you showed up with Yue Sichen, but I can be sure of one thing."
Pausing, Si Keke continued, "If you go back now, you’re certainly going to tell the sto about Yue Sichen, but once you do, there will be a huge change in the future."
Expecting Si Keke to reveal something profound, Lu Zixun stood up from the couch, yawned, and shook his head, "Always fretting, I dislike fortune-tellers the most."
"You don’t believe..."
Before Si Keke could finish, Lu Zixun’s tail lifted, blocking her mouth.
Lifting his eyes to glance at Si Keke, Lu Zixun said indifferently, "Perhaps what you’re saying is true, but just now you didn’t predict Yunyang coming to kill you. You were destined to die, but I saved your life."
"Doesn’t that suggest... that fate can be changed?"
Jumping off the couch, Lu Zixun walked towards the front door.
This time, Si Keke didn’t stop Lu Zixun.
"See you then. I’ll find someone to introduce to you sometime, let them get their fortune told or something."
After greeting Si Keke, Lu Zixun flicked his tail and closed the door behind him.
Seated on the sofa, Si Keke stretched out her right hand and made a quick calculation, her face covered with a look of shock.
"Fate... has really changed."
In the room, only Si Keke’s words reverberated, a murmur filled with surprise.
"Ding—Shock value from Si Keke detected at +500."
Lu Zixun, who was leaping from one rooftop to another, closing in on STO, didn’t take this matter to heart.
Standing on the rooftop, Lu Zixun’s pupils constricted slightly as he observed STO.
The usually brightly lit STO was now shrouded in darkness, and the surrounding silence was eerie.
Lu Zixun’s nose twitched.
He smelled an intense scent of blood, and couldn’t help but retch.
Quickly descending to the ground, Lu Zixun, with a sense of urgency, activated Flash’s speed and entered STO.
His cat eyes, capable of night vision, allowed Lu Zixun to fully take in what had happened at STO.
The white walls inside STO were now smeared with scarlet blood.
The floor was sticky, the blood that flowed across it staining Lu Zixun’s feet red.
Walking inside the eerily quiet STO, Lu Zixun tried to find a surviving person to ask about the situation.
But he discovered that inside STO, there were no longer any survivors; everyone had died.
"What on earth happened here?"
Lu Zixun was utterly horrified; someone had decimated STO...
Even considering STO’s branch in Chunhua City, he couldn’t think of anyone else with such power besides Tan Ye.
Was Tan Ye looking for an all-out war with STO?
"Hmm..."
Just as Lu Zixun was searching fruitlessly for survivors, ready to press the rescue device given to him by Zeng Haoyang to check for any STO members nearby,
a pained groan reached his ears.
The sound made Lu Zixun’s ears perk up, and he ran towards the source of the noise.
At a glance, he saw a person lying at the far end of the warehouse, severely injured with the lower half of the body severed; it was astonishing that they were still alive.
"..."
After a long silence, Lu Zixun approached the person slowly.
The person, struggling to hold on to life through sheer willpower, tensed up upon hearing footsteps.
Upon seeing Lu Zixun approach, the person Lu Zixun had never seen before smiled.
"Ding—Teasing value from Huang Qiang detected at +1000."
"It’s good... it’s you."
After uttering these words, Huang Qiang coughed up a mouthful of fresh blood and pushed a bloodstained note towards Lu Zixun, "Go... to... district Q... find the headquarters."
Before he could finish, Huang Qiang’s gaze became vacant, and he died.
Squatting quietly in place, looking at the relieved expression in Huang Qiang’s eyes, Lu Zixun felt a sourness in his nose.
"Meow, meow."
The cry, lipped with sobs, resounded through the STO branch, filled with sorrow.
But there were no tears in his eyes.
Lu Zixun, who was usually somewhat of a clean freak, now held in his mouth the note stained with Huang Qiang’s fresh blood.
Spotting the direction of district Q, he ran off rapidly.
He had to quickly find Xiong Kang’s location and deliver the note to him.
"Ding—Killing intent from Jing Yingcai detected at +1000."
The moment the System Prompt Sound rang out, a sharp gust of wind followed Lu Zixun from behind.
With a sideways flip, he rolled to the left, and a Wind Blade whizzed past Lu Zixun, narrowly missing him.
