My Cat Has Superpower?! -
Chapter 49 - 49 49 Invisible Guardian
49: Chapter 49 Invisible Guardian 49: Chapter 49 Invisible Guardian Lu Zixun, having boarded the coach, first checked for any traces of Blood Worms inside.
Fortunately, just as Zeng Haoyang had speculated, there were none.
Retrieving an Invisibility Cloak from the System Space, Lu Zixun jumped to the glass at the rear of the coach.
Finding a spot that overlooked the entire area, he crouched down, draped the Invisibility Cloak over himself, and quietly waited for Long Ya and others to board.
“Students of third grade, class four, get on this bus.”
Director Duan’s sharp and harsh voice rang out.
Lu Zixun, who had been dozing off, perked up, licked his paws once, and stared intently at Director Duan.
Now, the only confirmed Blood Worm was Director Duan, who also represented the greatest threat, forcing Lu Zixun to proceed with caution.
Especially when Long Ya, with his backpack, got on the bus, Lu Zixun crouched on all fours, his back slightly bent, entirely in a predatory stance.
Should Director Duan exhibit any peculiar behavior, Lu Zixun would be ready to act at any moment.
However, thankfully, the situation Lu Zixun feared did not occur.
Long Ya greeted Director Duan and boarded the bus with a smile.
After looking around, he sat down in the middle of the coach, precisely the spot where Lu Zixun had an unobstructed view.
About this, Lu Zixun wasn’t surprised because he had faintly heard the instructions exchanged between Zeng Haoyang and Long Ya while dozing on the bus.
“It’s best to sit in the middle of any vehicle for a bit more safety.”
In Lu Zixun’s view, however, this was marginally safer.
If real danger struck, he felt nowhere would be safe.
Lu Zixun, watching Director Duan, saw that she had no intentions of moving closer to Long Ya and lay down again.
His tail occasionally flicked under the Invisibility Cloak in a contented manner.
As the children chattered excitedly amongst themselves, the coach slowly started off, heading towards Golden Monkey Zoo.
Half-closing his eyes as he looked around at the excited children, Lu Zixun suddenly squinted.
One child seemed a bit off.
While others excitedly guessed about the animals at Golden Monkey Zoo, his face bore a heavy expression, as if worried about something.
Seeing such emotions on a primary student seemed very strange.
Just as Lu Zixun thought this, the coach abruptly stopped.
Lu Zixun looked out the window, his expression growing serious.
Previously, three coaches had been traveling together, but now the other two had turned right.
However, the coach carrying Long Ya was waiting for the traffic light.
This strange situation, unnoticed by the children, made Lu Zixun sense something was amiss.
Looking forward, he saw Director Duan in the passenger seat, conversing with the driver.
A slight, barely discernible smile on her lips made Lu Zixun slightly uncomfortable.
Glancing around, Lu Zixun now urgently needed to know one thing: whether the driver was parasitized by a Blood Worm.
After pondering for a moment, Lu Zixun looked around.
Spotting a small pebble, he wasn’t sure where it came from, but now it served a purpose.
Extending his tail, he curled it around the pebble and controlled its force.
With a flick of his tail, he threw the pebble at the back of the driver’s head.
Under Lu Zixun’s control, the pebble hit precisely on target.
Feeling a sting on the back of his head, the driver scratched it, looking back perplexedly.
“Ding—Doubt Value +200 from Blood Worm detected.”
As the System Prompt Sound chimed, Lu Zixun’s eyes narrowed.
Indeed, the driver was a Blood Worm, prompting Lu Zixun to wonder where these Abnormal Creatures intended to go.
As Lu Zixun speculated on their motives, the light turned green, and the coach resumed its slow journey.
This road…
Lu Zixun glanced at the nearby sign, his gaze growing stern.
The coach was heading towards the highway.
As he thought about how they absolutely had to notify Xiong Kang and the others, Lu Zixun suddenly remembered the locator on him, which Xiong Kang should have been tracking all along.
The yellow sign for the electronic toll collection system caught Lu Zixun’s eyes.
The coach smoothly entered the highway, clearly visible with only children inside, yet strangely, no staff stopped it, chilling Lu Zixun internally.
If his hunch was right, this highway stop had already been occupied by the Blood Worms.
Lu Zixun considered for a moment, then sprung his hind legs and jumped to a corner right above Long Ya.
This way, should any problem occur, Lu Zixun could protect Long Ya immediately, waiting for Xiong Kang’s arrival.
However, the feeling of helplessly waiting for rescue made Lu Zixun feel immensely uncomfortable for a moment.
Seeing that the system still had one day and fourteen hours left for an update, he sighed softly.
Once this system update completed, he would need to quickly draw new Superpowers to enhance his strength because…
The strength of the Abnormal Creatures had already surpassed Lu Zixun’s imagination.
Time was of the essence.
After traveling a distance on the highway, four Heavy Trucks approached from behind the coach.
Before Lu Zixun could react, these Heavy Trucks circled around the coach from all sides, encasing it completely.
In an instant, the light inside the coach dimmed significantly.
Seeing this, Lu Zixun’s tail twitched nervously.
What exactly were these Blood Worms planning to do?
The Heavy Truck in front of the coach slowly opened its rear doors, dragging on the ground.
The Heavy Truck behind suddenly accelerated, seeming about to crash into them.
As the scene unfolded before Lu Zixun’s eyes, he was enraged, realizing what these Blood Worms intended.
They wanted to crash the coach into the cargo compartment of the Heavy Truck!
There was no time left to deal with the two Blood Worms on the coach.
With accomplices definitely on the Heavy Trucks and no time to think, Lu Zixun leaped from the shelf towards Long Ya.
Landing in Long Ya’s arms, Long Ya was initially surprised.
The next moment, Lu Zixun’s form slightly enlarged, enveloping Long Ya in his soft fur.
“Bang!”
The Heavy Truck slammed into the coach, transmitting a massive jolt.
The children at the back, who weren’t seated securely, flew forwards.
Director Duan, ready for this, caught one of the children, her face showing fear.
Lu Zixun, hiding behind a seat protecting Long Ya, watched this unfold with narrowed eyes.
As the coach was pushed into the cargo area by the Heavy Truck behind and the cargo doors slowly closed, darkness engulfed the coach interior.
