24: Chapter 24 Are You a Demon?
While Lu Zixun was still researching, he heard Bai Yiyi speak.
However, her voice was unusually hoarse, and one couldn’t tell she was a singer at all.
“Are you…
a demon?”
“…”
Hearing this, Lu Zixun’s face was full of black lines.
The flesh around the cat’s face was all wrinkled up, looking extremely ugly.
Under the bright light, seeing the changing expressions of the Orange Cat, Bai Yiyi’s face revealed a long-lost smile.
In that situation, it felt somewhat like Lin Daiyu.
The smile didn’t last long before a look of desolation appeared in Bai Yiyi’s eyes, “Little kitty, can you help me get out?”
That was a certainty.
I’m a friggin’ superpower contestant.
Without hesitation, Lu Zixun gave Bai Yiyi a firm nod.
Seeing such a humanlike gesture, Bai Yiyi was immediately stunned, then hesitantly said, “Are you really a demon?
You can even understand human speech.”
“Is it so rare to see a cat that understands human speech?”
Lu Zixun wanted to roll his eyes at Bai Yiyi, but this action was quite tough for an Orange Cat.
Helplessly, Lu Zixun could only meow twice to express his dissatisfaction.
“Meow meow meow!”
“It can even get angry, haha.”
With a smile, Bai Yiyi sighed, “Well, here comes the question, Mr.
Demon, how do you plan to rescue me…”
“Ding—Detecting Bai Yiyi’s expectation value +1000.”
Whoa, such a high expectation value startled Lu Zixun.
Looking up at the hopeful look in Bai Yiyi’s eyes, Lu Zixun involuntarily shook his head.
Putting aside everything else, just based on this high expectation value, I will get you out today, no one can stop that, I say.
Seeing Lu Zixun squatting in place, the hopeful look in Bai Yiyi’s eyes gradually dimmed.
Perhaps she had been locked up by Jin Chacha for too long, to even begin thinking that a cat could help her escape.
Lu Zixun had no idea about Bai Yiyi’s thoughts; he extended his paw and gestured toward the chains.
Relying on the strength of Steel Body, in theory, he should be able to break these chains.
“Your little paws aren’t that strong, you know.”
Noticing Lu Zixun’s intention, Bai Yiyi laughed, “It wouldn’t be good if your paws started bleeding later.”
“Tsk, this woman probably hasn’t seen what’s called a superpower cat, I’ve got to open her eyes today.”
The cat’s eyes locked onto a part of the chain; if he cut it from there, he shouldn’t hurt Bai Yiyi.
He walked slowly to the front of the chains, Lu Zixun raised his paw and fiercely slashed down.
In the shocked gaze of Bai Yiyi, the chain broke with a snap.
“Mr.
Demon…
you’re really amazing.”
“That’s right, small matter.”
“Ding—Detecting Bai Yiyi’s surprise value +200.”
Seeing the big Orange Cat in front of her suddenly talk, Bai Yiyi was once again frightened, her eyes widened looking at Lu Zixun, speechless for a moment.
The locks keeping Bai Yiyi bound were cut through just the same as before.
Looking at the purple and green bruises on Bai Yiyi’s wrists from the chains, Lu Zixun’s gaze fell on the unconscious Jin Chacha beside him, his eyes filled with malice.
Such a beautiful young lady, treated so terribly, is truly a scumbag, a low-life.
Finally able to move, Bai Yiyi removed the cuffs that had bound her wrists.
Just as she was about to take a few steps forward, her body leaned forward, about to crash onto the cold ground when Lu Zixun lunged forward, cushioning her fall.
Lu Zixun had a steel body, but this woman did not.
So frail, if she had fallen and gotten hurt, wouldn’t his rescue have been in vain?
Instead of the expected pain, she felt something fluffy beneath her.
Bai Yiyi struggled to her feet, gratitude flashing in her eyes as she looked down at the large Orange Cat below her.
Sitting on the floor, Bai Yiyi managed to lift Lu Zixun up with effort.
While stroking Lu Zixun’s head, she said, “Thank you so much, Mr.
Demon, but my body is too weak, could you help me find my cellphone?”
“You’ve gotta be joking, why don’t you use his?” Lu Zixun scoffed at Bai Yiyi’s suggestion after pointing a paw at Jin Chacha beside them.
Jumping out of Bai Yiyi’s arms where she knelt on the ground, Lu Zixun circled Jin Chacha and eventually found a cellphone in his pocket.
Originally, Lu Zixun wanted to pick it up with his mouth, but thinking how filthy Jin Chacha was, he opted to paw it out instead.
Having received the cellphone from Lu Zixun, Bai Yiyi was by now accustomed to such un-catlike behavior.
Holding the phone in her hands, she realized a problematic issue: the lock on Jin Chacha’s cellphone couldn’t be opened.
“Mr.
Demon, your idea seems to be unworkable,” she said, holding the phone’s screen up to Lu Zixun with a look of helplessness.
“Yeah, it does look that way, huh,” Lu Zixun admitted after staring at the screen for a while and feeling a bit embarrassed.
After thinking it over, Lu Zixun went over to Bai Yiyi, sniffed her for a moment to memorize her scent, then dashed out of the secret room.
Using his dog-like sense of smell, he wandered around the villa and eventually found a phone with a red case in a box.
Once he was sure it had Bai Yiyi’s scent on it, Lu Zixun picked up the phone in his mouth and returned to the secret room.
After going through all these motions, Lu Zixun inexplicably felt weary at heart.
He had simply intended to teach Jin Chacha a lesson, to avenge Lin Qiang, but somehow ended up rescuing someone in the process.
He was just a little kitty, why should life be so exhausting?
He washed the blood of Jin Chacha off his paws in the nearby sink and, after sniffing to ensure there was no smell of blood, he began to lick his paws clean.
“Uncle Lin, I was kidnapped by Jin Chacha.
Uh, I’m unhurt, he didn’t dare touch me.”
“He wanted that set of documents from Bai Group, I threatened him with death, and he ended up imprisoning me.”
“I’m in Jin Chacha’s villa, he’s passed out right now, it’s…”
Bai Yiyi’s gaze landed on Lu Zixun, hesitating for a moment before saying, “I was rescued by a mysterious person, um, no danger.”
As Lu Zixun licked his paws, he nodded in satisfaction upon hearing Bai Yiyi put it that way.
Keeping his identity a secret, it seemed Bai Yiyi had a pretty good acceptance level.
When Bai Yiyi ended the call, Lu Zixun suddenly felt a gaze fixed on him and looked up to see Bai Yiyi’s intense eyes.
Bai Yiyi beckoned to him, and although confused, Lu Zixun still leaped down from the sink and walked over to her.
