Chapter 632: Chapter 403: An Interesting Soul
"Baiye Technology Co., Ltd...."
Tang Xiaoqi murmured as she looked at the brand new company sign, then lowered her head to check against the note Tang Yun had written for her.
The location she was currently at was an industrial park situated in the suburbs of Su City.
In front of her stood a five-story office building with a gray base, and behind it was a vast expanse of wasteland with several excavators seemingly digging foundations.
Two burly security guards were stationed at the entrance of the office building.
"Hey! You guys over there, hurry up and move the stuff inside; there’s a line of trucks waiting to unload!"
At that moment, a group of delivery workers passed by her, carrying boxes of various sizes into the building.
Tang Xiaoqi casually glanced and noticed that they were moving cardboard boxes with computer server components such as hard drives and GPUs on the packaging.
Curiously looking around, she followed the delivery workers into the office building, and the two guards just gave her a glance but ignored her, letting her through without any inconvenience.
It was only after entering the office building that she realized it was bustling with not just delivery personnel but also construction crews.
Not far away, the receptionist was busy on the phone, swiftly switching between the landline and her mobile, looking very busy.
Two workers were hanging the company logo on the wall behind her in the main hall.
The silver robot seated cross-legged in the void resembled the ERP startup screen she had seen before, exactly as she had expected.
"It looks like a newly established company..." Tang Xiaoqi was a bit puzzled.
She had thought that a high-tech company capable of developing such an advanced intelligent ERP system would be a well-known large factory, or at the very least possess an impressively high-end façade.
Only after a firsthand inspection did she realize it was nothing like the upscale image she had in mind...
Suddenly, she felt a bit disappointed.
While she wasn’t a hedonist, she always believed that the working environment was one of the criteria for judging the excellence of a company.
"Hey! Beautiful, the interviews are on the second floor! Go straight and turn right!"
The receptionist, who had just put down her phone, saw Tang Xiaoqi loitering in the hall looking around and seemed to have misunderstood, so she shouted at her.
"Interview?" Tang Xiaoqi was stunned.
She noticed many formally dressed young people walking inside and then saw a sign saying "Interviews, please go to the second floor."
Thinking it over, with the mentality of having come all this way, she followed the direction indicated by the sign.
Upon reaching the second floor, she discovered that there were indeed quite a number of applicants.
About thirty to forty men and women crowded the corridor, making it somewhat congested, with more people continually arriving.
Each person was dressed in suits, carefully groomed to look the part of an adult, holding resumes and portfolios, all presenting the scene of fresh graduates at a job fair.
However, with so many people waiting outside, she could see only one staff member with a work badge explaining the interview process to everyone.
"Welcome to Baiyeji Company’s technical position recruitment event.
Please line up orderly, and follow the instructions to enter one by one!
This interview will be conducted remotely, with no written test, no second round, and results will be provided on the spot..."
Tang Xiaoqi blinked in confusion.
Remote interview? What does that mean?
Just then, the door labeled "Interview Area" opened, and the previous batch of interviewees came out.
Tang Xiaoqi was taken aback because there were a good twenty or so people coming out of there.
What kind of interview was this?
A typical group interview usually had at most about ten people at a time; any more than that and the interviewers simply couldn’t discern who was better or worse.
But interviewing over twenty people at once... were they really given a chance to fully introduce themselves?
Tang Xiaoqi watched the expressions of these people and noticed that almost all of them looked dejected, indicating a high elimination rate...
"Alright, the next group! Please enter in an orderly manner!"
The female staff member immediately allowed the next batch of interviewees to go in.
However, Tang Xiaoqi was slowly realizing that the interview rules seemed a bit different from what she expected.
People were occasionally coming out of the interview area, with numbers varying. Sometimes many would leave at once, while at other times only a few.
And whenever anyone came out, the staff member would let the same number of people go in.
The number of interviewees inside seemed to be fixed...
"Hey! This is really interesting. I’ve been to so many company interviews and consider myself battle-hardened, but this is the first time I’ve encountered such an odd interview process.
I wonder what it’s like inside. It can’t be some sort of free-for-all elimination game, can it?"
The two interviewees in front of Tang Xiaoqi also murmured to each other.
"Who knows... The job description only sent out the position requirements, not the selection standards...
Just now, a guy went in and came out with a dark face after only three minutes, but some people have been inside for quite a long time.
Plus, we’re all applying for different positions; how many interviewers would they need to simultaneously interview so many of us?"
"Hmm! Three minutes to determine whether a person is suitable? I think this interview is way too hasty, feels a bit disrespectful, if you ask me."
"You feel disrespected and still want to continue with the interview?"
"Sigh! No choice, they’re offering too much."
"Uh... that’s true..."
From the conversation of the two, Tang Xiaoqi deduced something.
The salary offered by this company seemed quite competitive in the market...
No wonder a company of modest scale could attract so many interviewees.
