Chapter 79: Chapter 79: They Seem to Get Along Well
It seems like the two of them have a really good relationship; otherwise, these things wouldn’t be here.
Before, Xinluo mentioned she had a very good friend in the country, and seeing it today, their relationship is indeed extraordinary.
It’s also clear that Lan Shan treats Xinluo well; otherwise, she wouldn’t have left her work to stay home with her.
She carried her clothes into the bathroom and took a brief shower.
Having been on a plane for over ten hours, it’s inevitable to feel a bit tired. After showering, she dried her hair with a towel, then returned to the bedroom to sleep.
She glanced at the bed sheets and cover.
Light blue, and still within her acceptable range.
She lifted the blanket and got in, falling asleep shortly afterward.
In the room next door, Ye Xinluo lay in bed, eyes closed, but unable to fall asleep.
Lan Shan leaned against the bedhead, supervising her to prevent her from getting up.
After several attempts to get up, only to be stopped by Lan Shan, she eventually had to give up.
Staring at the ceiling like this, she didn’t know how much time had passed when she heard some movement beside her.
Ye Xinluo turned her head to see Lan Shan, who had unknowingly fallen asleep, now leaning against her shoulder.
She moved her slightly to let her sleep more comfortably, pulling the blanket over her.
It was already evening, and the room was gradually getting darker.
Ye Xinluo stared at Lan Shan’s face for a while, then smiled.
She slowly lay back down, gently closing her eyes...
...
Jingxi had stayed in the room for the entire day.
Except for the person who brought him food, no one else had come to the room.
The elderly man and the housekeeper who visited last night hadn’t come today either.
He walked to the door, pressed his ear against it, and listened carefully. After ensuring there was no noise outside, he turned the door handle gently.
He opened the door a little, peering outside through the crack.
Outside was a long hallway.
Seeing no one in the corridor, he opened the door more and tiptoed out of the room.
Reaching the edge of the hallway, he looked down, his eyes widening with astonishment. From this vantage point, he could see the entire layout of the first floor.
He had thought Shaoyu’s father’s home was already impressive, but he didn’t expect this place to be just as beautiful.
Downstairs was a large reception room, complete with leather sofas, a coffee table, a TV, and a crystal chandelier.
There was also a calligraphy painting on the wall, though Jingxi couldn’t understand the words. However, he knew anything hung here must be of significant value.
He shifted his gaze to another side, where the dining room was.
A three-meter-long dining table with two vases on top, containing beautiful fresh flowers.
"Young Master?"
Just as Jingxi was absorbed in the view, a voice behind him startled him.
He turned back irritably and saw it was the housekeeper.
"I’ve told you before, I’m not the Young Master," he said coldly.
The housekeeper Lin was taken aback, not expecting him to be so averse to the name. So he changed his words and said, "Jingxi, what are you looking at?"
Seeing that he wasn’t called Young Master anymore, Jingxi’s expression eased a bit. He turned his head, not wanting to acknowledge him.
Suddenly, as if he thought of something, he turned back to look at housekeeper Lin and said, "When will you let me go home?"
From yesterday until now, it had been almost a day since he last saw his mommy. He didn’t even know how she was doing.
He hadn’t even called her to let her know he was safe, which must have made mommy worried sick.
