Chapter 73: What is this place?

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: What is this place?

He quietly climbed out of bed and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window. He opened a small gap in the curtains and carefully surveyed everything outside.

Downstairs was a large courtyard. In the center of the courtyard was a pool filled with many koi fish.

Cameras were installed around the courtyard.

"Where exactly is this place?"

Jingxi muttered to himself.

Just this afternoon, he was still at People’s Square. How did he end up here now?

Everyone here called him Young Master. He was no Young Master.

Suddenly, as if recalling something, Jingxi quickly stood up.

When he first woke up, he hadn’t had time to look at the room’s furnishings. Now he remembered something important.

In such a big room, there should be a computer. If there was a computer, he could send a message to his mommy.

Thinking this, he opened the curtains a little wider. Through the light outside, he carefully examined everything in the room.

He didn’t turn on the light because he was worried that there might be a servant watching at the door, and if he turned on the light, people outside might see him. That would ruin his plan.

In the center of the room was a large double bed with light blue sheets and a light blue quilt cover.

Jingxi pursed his lips and shifted his gaze away from the bed.

Wardrobe, sofa, television...

He turned around and finally stopped at a corner.

It was very dark there, but it vaguely looked like a rectangular desk.

And the squarish thing on the desk should be...

A computer!

Suppressing the excitement in his heart, he pulled the curtains back again.

Remembering the position of the desk he had just seen, he walked step by step in that direction.

Jingxi walked very slowly, and with the curtains drawn, the room was even darker.

He wasn’t sure if there was anything in front of him, so he didn’t dare to walk too fast.

When he was halfway there, footsteps came from the doorway. Startled, Jingxi immediately held his breath, listening intently to every movement outside the door.

It seemed the person was just passing by and didn’t come in. Once he was sure they had walked away, Jingxi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He calmed his nerves and continued walking toward the desk.

After a while, his foot hit something hard. He reached out to touch it and was almost jubilant.

The lighting here was dim, and he couldn’t see anything clearly, so he had to feel his way slowly.

He squatted down and reached out to find the switch.

After groping for a while, he found a round button and pressed it hard.

As he pressed the button, the computer screen lit up. Jingxi stood up excitedly, staring at the computer screen.

The desktop was very simple, with only an email icon and nothing else.

Jingxi moved the mouse and opened a webpage, hoping to install WeChat.

Previously, when his mommy was using WeChat, he had inadvertently seen her WeChat ID. With a quick mind, he remembered the ID.

The webpage opened, but displayed [No Network Connection].

Jingxi stared at the words on the screen with wide eyes for a long time before coming back to his senses. Then his gaze slowly moved downward, finally resting in the lower right corner.

The network connection status was marked with a red X at that moment.

Unwilling to give up, he slid the mouse to open [Network Connections]. It showed [No Available Networks].

What kind of place is this, with no network at all? A poor rating...

He pursed his lips in annoyance and shut down the computer.

Then he turned around and walked toward the bed, climbed up, and got under the covers.

He pulled the quilt over himself and buried his head in it.
