Chapter 443: Chapter 443: In the Cabin

Lin Qian left L.D, got a cab back to the office.

On the way, looking at the scenery outside the car window, her mind was still unsettled.

Thinking of Du Qian’s crazy appearance, she shook her head silently.

She didn’t do anything wrong.

Victory or defeat is common in warfare, it can only be said that Du Qian couldn’t afford to lose.

Her mindset was too narrow.

While she was lost in thought, the car bumped and stopped.

Lin Qian quickly held on and asked, "Driver, what happened?"

"Sorry miss, it seems like the tire is flat."

The driver, a middle-aged man, cursed in a foreign language.

A flat tire?

Lin Qian didn’t think much and paid before opening the car door to get out.

The midday sun was quite warm, and there weren’t many pedestrians and cars on this road.

Lin Qian checked the time and planned to call another car to go back to the office.

With an inadvertent glance, she sharply noticed something.

A car was parked across the road, the window open, revealing a man’s head and...

Bang!

Lin Qian screamed, instinctively crouching down with her head covered.

Gunshot!

Someone fired in the street!

And their target... was her!

"Young lady, run! These bastards, even the Chinese District’s not safe!"

The middle-aged man saw the signs and shouted at Lin Qian.

Lin Qian, scared and pale, heard another gunshot and quickly hid on the other side of the car.

Who was it?

Who wanted to kill her?

Did she offend someone?

Lin Qian swallowed hard, her hand trembling as she tried to take out her phone to call for help.

But then footsteps approached, and in the reflection of a nearby car, Lin Qian saw a masked man in black, holding a weapon and approaching the car.

If she stayed there, she would undoubtedly become a sitting duck.

Lin Qian bit her lip, her face filled with panic as she looked around.

She remembered this road, just crossing the alley ahead would lead to a bustling commercial street.

Once in a crowded place, the thug wouldn’t dare act recklessly.

Grinding her teeth, Lin Qian crouched and quickly ran towards the nearby alley.

Two more gunshots sounded behind her, and her heart leaped to her throat.

As she stumbled along, she occasionally looked back, seeing the man in black chasing her from afar.

Escape!

At this moment, there was only one word in her mind—escape!

After several twists and turns, just as she was about to reach the end of the alley, two men in black suddenly appeared before her.

Dressed in all black, they exuded a chilling aura.

Before Lin Qian could react, they reached out and grabbed her.

A pungent scent reached her nose, and Lin Qian moaned twice before her vision turned black, plunging into endless darkness.

...

Her head hurt, dizzy, as if she were seasick.

Lin Qian’s long eyelashes trembled as she slowly opened her eyes.

The world spun briefly before Lin Qian closed her eyes; once the dizziness passed, she opened them again.

What she saw was a dark, narrow space.

Where was this?

Lin Qian struggled to sit up, looking around, realizing she was likely in a ship’s cabin.

A ship’s cabin?

Who kidnapped her, and where were they taking her?

Lin Qian tried to get up, her gaze inadvertently landing on a shadow lying in a corner not far away.

Hands and feet bound, lying still with their back to her.

Lin Qian was startled; just as she wanted to see who was also kidnapped, the doorknob turned.

Someone was coming!

Lin Qian quickly lay back down, pretending to be unconscious.

She needed to know who had kidnapped her.

The scent of alcohol approached, accompanied by a man’s heavy breaths.

With her eyes closed, Lin Qian intuitively sensed the newcomer was a man.

"Pretty girl, hey, pretty girl!"

The man said something in a foreign language, followed by rustling noises.

The sound was a bit far, it seemed the man wasn’t coming towards her.

Lin Qian opened her eyes slightly, seeing in the corner the man was untying the person lying on the ground.

From her angle, she could see the person lying there was a woman.

This man intended to violate her!

"What do you want? Get away! Help!"

The woman on the ground suddenly awoke, seeing the man pulling at her clothes, and screamed in terror.

She spoke in Mandarin!

Lin Qian clenched her fist, watching the man pinning the woman down; she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.

She surveyed the area, spotting a wooden stick in the corner, and carefully moved over to it.

She was thankful her hands and feet weren’t bound.

Holding the stick, Lin Qian crouched behind the grinning man and raised the stick.

A muffled groan!

The man widened his eyes, incredulously turning to glance at Lin Qian.

Lin Qian tightened her grip on the stick, striking his head again.

Blood oozed from the man’s head, and his eyes rolled back as he passed out.

Lin Qian’s face was pale, her hands trembling around the stick.

A sob came from the floor, and Lin Qian glanced at the girl, hurriedly dropping the stick and kneeling beside her.

"Are you okay?"

She looked young, with messy hair and a dirty face; her big almond eyes sparkled even more with tears.

"Sister, I’m so scared!"

The girl sobbed, her face streaked with tears.

"Don’t be afraid, we’ll find a way to get out of here."

Lin Qian helped the girl adjust her torn clothes, soothing her gently.

To say she wasn’t afraid would be false.

But at this moment, she had to force herself to stay calm.

"Sister, were you kidnapped by them too? Where are we?"

The girl wiped her tears. Perhaps comforted by Lin Qian, she gradually calmed down.

"Yeah, I was brought here out of nowhere; this seems like a ship’s cabin."

Lin Qian stood up, glancing around.

"A ship’s cabin? Did we encounter human traffickers? Where do they want to take us?"

The girl followed behind Lin Qian, her eyes red.

Lin Qian turned, seeing her biting her lip, looking pitiful, and shook her head slightly.

"I don’t know, but it’s definitely not a good place. You stay here; I’ll go check it out."

She couldn’t just sit and wait; she had to find a way out.

"Sister, don’t leave me alone. Let me go with you to check."

The girl quickly grabbed Lin Qian’s hand, her face full of anxiety.

Her dependent look reminded her of her own children.

"Alright, I won’t leave you; we’ll go together."

Her voice was soft and tender, like a little sister’s.

"Okay, sister, my name is Pei Ling."

"Lin Qian."

The two exchanged names, and then with the wooden stick in hand, Lin Qian secretly opened the cabin door.

This should be the lowest level of the ship’s cabin.

The hallway was quiet, faintly echoing with cries and pleas for help, mixed with the cruel laughter of men.

No doubt, in the unseen parts of the cabin, the same scenario was occurring.

These bastards!
