Mr. Tycoon Is Actually the Father of My Child! -
Chapter 442: Jinx
Chapter 442: Chapter 442: Jinx
That night, Lin Qian didn’t sleep soundly.
Her mind was filled with thoughts about her own background.
Her father is Mi Qihua?
Her mother is Chen Xiaoman?
There wasn’t much excitement in finding her relatives, perhaps because her birth wasn’t blessed.
And as for her mother, is she really dead?
But the attitude of Chu Yelin last night made her feel like her mother was still alive.
Is it just a ploy?
Is he deliberately making her believe her mother is alive so he can keep her in suspense?
Her thoughts were a bit chaotic.
The next morning when she got up, her eyes naturally became panda eyes.
After freshening up, she went downstairs and saw Chu Yelin in the kitchen. Lin Qian’s apricot eyes sparkled; she wanted to ask him about her mother, but in the end, she didn’t.
Because she knew he would never tell her.
"Awake? Did you sleep well last night?"
Chu Yelin pulled out a chair, looking at Lin Qian’s faint blue circles under her eyes, and asked with a tease.
Lin Qian rolled her eyes at him, "Living under the same roof with you, I feel restless and uneasy every day."
"Ha! If I can keep you thinking of me every day, I feel quite accomplished."
Lin Qian: "..."
She had never seen a man with such a thick skin!
Lin Qian glared at Chu Yelin fiercely and quietly ate her breakfast.
Chu Yelin peeled the egg in his hand, looked towards Lin Qian with a slight lift of his gaze, and smiled a little.
Barely speaking, the two finished their breakfast and went to work.
After entering the sales department and just sitting down, Xin Meng came over in high heels.
"Lin Qian, what about the L.D contract anyway? Sitting in the office every day without keeping an eye on it; do you think the contract will just fall from the sky?"
Her mocking tone was blunt.
Lin Qian didn’t raise her head, just picked up the documents on the table and flipped through them.
"Why is Minister Xin in such a hurry? Isn’t it still before the final deadline?"
She’s more anxious inside than she is.
But haste makes waste.
"Hmph, I’m just kindly reminding you, spend more time keeping an eye on Hu Shen. Really think with President Chu behind you, you can stay in the sales department without results? President Mi will definitely fire you."
Xin Meng said coldly.
Lin Qian glanced at her, just as she was about to speak, her phone rang.
Lin Qian focused her gaze and surprisingly saw it was Hu Shen calling!
Hu Shen calling her voluntarily—could it be good news?
Lin Qian collected herself and answered the phone.
"President Hu."
"Miss Lin, my son started speaking! Come to the company now, we’ll sign the contract!"
The excited voice of Hu Shen reached her, contagious enough to affect Lin Qian’s mood too.
"Really? Chenchen really started speaking?"
"Yes! I brought him to the company today. Just now, he called me dad."
Hu Shen’s voice was slightly hoarse, Lin Qian could tell he was probably tearing up.
If it were her, she’d probably be moved to tears too.
Because children are always the heart and soul of their parents.
Only those who’ve been parents understand how much joy one call of dad or mom brings.
"Congratulations, President Hu, you’re a good father."
Lin Qian was sincerely happy for Hu Shen.
After ending the call, she grabbed the documents and stood up, looking at Xin Meng, "Minister Xin, President Hu wants me to go sign the contract now."
She really secured the L.D contract!
Xin Meng was stunned, then walked back to the office with a cold face to report to Mi Xue’er.
Upon hearing it, Mi Xue’er immediately threw the phone.
Lin Qian, that bitch, just wait!
Lin Qian went to Hu Shen’s company, entered the meeting room, and saw Hu Shen’s son, Hu Chen.
The little guy was sitting on the couch, engrossed in something on the computer.
"Chenchen, greet someone."
Hu Shen walked to his son’s side, gently patted his head lovingly.
The little guy stopped his actions, looked at Lin Qian, and spoke in an innocent child’s voice.
"Hello Auntie."
"Hello."
The little guy really talked, Lin Qian was very happy.
Her apricot eyes sparkled, she asked, "Have you been chatting with Zirui these days?"
"Yeah, Zirui is teaching me how to use the computer."
The little guy finished speaking and turned his head away, focusing on the computer again.
Hu Shen laughed, eyes soft, and said quietly, "He’s telling me not to bother him."
He gestured for Lin Qian to come to the other side and handed her the contract.
Lin Qian took the contract, carefully reviewed it, and signed her name at the end of the document.
Everything was settled, and Lin Qian felt a bit relieved.
"Thank you, President Hu, nice working with you."
Lin Qian extended her hand toward Hu Shen.
Hu Shen smiled and shook it, "Miss Lin, I should be the one thanking you. Honestly, come to our company, name your terms."
Lin Qian: "..."
Although there was a playful tone in it, being recognized by others is a very rewarding thing.
"Alright, the day I don’t want to stay at MXL anymore, I’ll come to work for you, President Hu."
"Always welcome!"
Hu Shen wanted to personally escort Lin Qian downstairs.
Lin Qian promptly declined, asking him to stay with the little one.
Hu Shen didn’t insist, watching Lin Qian enter the elevator.
As the elevator descended, Lin Qian made a "yay" gesture, her heart full of excitement.
She wanted to share the joyous news.
Who should she share it with?
A handsome image of Yin Moran’s face appeared in her mind.
Lin Qian curled her lips slightly, took out her phone from her bag.
The elevator dinged as it arrived on the first floor.
Lin Qian was fiddling with her phone with her head slightly down when she heard a sharp female voice.
"Lin Qian, you jinx!"
Lin Qian was startled, looked up, and saw Du Qian storming towards her.
Her hand raised high, attempting to slap her.
Lin Qian, shocked, quickly dodged her slap, yet her face was still grazed by her fingernails.
"Ouch!"
Lin Qian frowned, touched her cheek, and said, "Du Qian, what’s your problem!"
"Yeah, I’m about to be driven mad by you!"
Du Qian’s face twisted, "Lin Qian, you’re the jinx of my life! Last time my position was lost because of you, now you’ve snatched my contract. Do you know how important this contract is to me? Give it back to me, give the contract back!"
This contract was meant to change her fate.
But hope was within reach, yet it was dashed by her into the dust.
She was once again set to become a lowly person to be toyed with!
She could see no more hope!
Lin Qian, this jinx, she wanted to kill her!
Du Qian went berserk trying to snatch the contract from Lin Qian’s hands.
Lin Qian dodged repeatedly, finally managed to break free from Du Qian’s strong grip with the help of company security personnel.
Her clothes were in disarray, Lin Qian’s chest heaved as she clung tightly to the documents, saying, "Du Qian, contracts are important to everyone. I didn’t play any tricks, we all work based on our abilities, now the contract is in my hands, I can only say sorry, but my conscience is clear."
The workplace is like a battlefield.
She could understand Du Qian’s feelings.
But understanding doesn’t mean she agrees.
Losing this contract doesn’t mean one has hit a dead end, just work hard for the next one.
However, just because she thinks this way doesn’t mean others do too.
