Chapter 327 I’ll Help Su Yu’an
Chapter 327: Chapter 327 I’ll Help Su Yu’an
Seeing Lin Yi suddenly make a move, Su Yu’an’s entire body jolted. His pupils shrank sharply, and he couldn’t help but take a step forward.
"Stop, Lin Yi! Are you crazy? Why are you trying to hurt someone? I told you I would help you!"
Is Lin Yi really insane?
He had clearly hesitated before; why did he suddenly flip out?
Lin Yi aimed the hunting rifle at Su Yu’an, his eyes tinged with a bloodthirsty crimson.
"Mr. Su, you’re quite the silver-tongued speaker. You almost convinced me. But unfortunately, I’m not stupid. I know you’re just stalling for time. There are already police downstairs, aren’t there? Today, I am determined to die. Having a few more to bury with me doesn’t make it a loss!"
Faint noises could be heard from downstairs. On the edge of the floor, Lin Qian, pale-faced, indeed spotted several figures downstairs rushing toward them rapidly.
Lin Yi’s vigilance—who would have thought he was this sharp—had picked up the arrival of the police.
Lin Qian swallowed nervously, her gaze shifting to Chu Yelin clutching his chest, blood seeping through his fingers, his once-handsome face now drained of color.
His eyes darkened deeply as he slowly stood up, his narrow eyes fixed intently on Lin Qian, brimming with concern.
Lin Qian bit her lip, suppressing all her emotions, her gaze moving to Lin Yi beside her. She saw the hunting rifle still aimed at Su Yu’an, as if he would pull the trigger again in the next second.
Lin Yi was a madman now.
He had already hurt someone; she couldn’t let him harm Su Yu’an again.
Lin Qian took a deep breath and exerted all her strength to kick Lin Yi’s leg.
The next second, Lin Yi staggered forward, the hunting rifle slipping from his hand.
The transformation happened in an instant.
Su Yu’an seized the opportunity, moving quickly to clash with Lin Yi.
Meanwhile, Chu Yelin, pressing his bloodless lips together, strode over to Lin Qian’s side and began untying her ropes.
Lin Qian looked at his pale face and the cold sweat dripping from his forehead, concerned. "Chu Yelin, are you alright?"
"I’m fine. Can’t die yet."
Chu Yelin, lips ghostly pale, gave Lin Qian a reassuring smile.
His slender fingers didn’t pause, quickly untying Lin Qian’s ropes.
Together, he also untied Gu Yan, who was bound nearby.
As soon as the ropes binding Gu Yan were undone, her trembling hands began untying the ropes securing her legs.
"Let’s go."
Chu Yelin pulled Lin Qian by the shoulder, decisively preparing to take her away.
Just then, another loud bang rang out. Lin Qian’s heart trembled as she instinctively looked back toward Su Yu’an and Lin Yi.
She saw them wrestling over the hunting rifle in their hands. It seemed Lin Yi had pulled the trigger.
From the looks of it, the recent sound was from a missed shot—not hitting anyone.
Lin Qian’s heart tightened. She paused her steps and turned to Chu Yelin. "Chu Yelin, you take Gu Yan first. I’ll go help Yu’an."
Lin Yi was a madman now. She couldn’t stand by and let Su Yu’an get hurt.
"Wait!"
Chu Yelin grabbed Lin Qian. "The police are almost here. You take her downstairs first. I’ll go help Su Yu’an."
"But your injuries..."
"It’s fine. I can manage."
Chu Yelin glanced deeply at Lin Qian, then, without waiting for her reply, turned and strode toward Su Yu’an.
"Hey..."
"Lin Qian! Why are you just standing there like an idiot? Waiting to die? If you’re not leaving, I’m going!"
Gu Yan, her legs freed, trembled and spoke up.
Lin Qian glanced at her, taking in her fragile, trembling appearance. She grabbed her and quickly moved toward the staircase.
But as the two had just descended one floor, Gu Yan’s legs suddenly gave out. She let out a scream and tumbled downward.
Lin Qian gasped and grabbed her, but ended up tumbling down the staircase with her, rolling until they hit the next floor’s ground.
"Ah, it hurts!"
Gu Yan screamed, face twisted in pain.
Lin Qian frowned deeply, pushing herself off the floor. Seeing Gu Yan clutching her stomach, she asked, "Gu Yan, are you alright?"
Gu Yan, her face pale, snapped at Lin Qian. "My stomach hurts! Lin Qian, are you trying to murder me?"
Murder her?
Was she delusional?
She had clearly tripped herself due to weak legs and dragged Lin Qian into the fall!
Lin Qian internally rolled her eyes but held her tongue, intending to say something when police officers suddenly charged upstairs.
"What happened?"
The leading officer demanded, his expression stern.
"Officer, quickly, they’re upstairs..."
Lin Qian’s eyes lit up. Ignoring Gu Yan, she urgently briefed the officers on the current situation.
"Understood."
The lead officer nodded, signaling his team to proceed upstairs with him.
Lin Qian couldn’t rest easy. She looked at Gu Yan. "The police are here. Wait here. I’m going up to check."
Lin Yi had a rifle. Su Yu’an, a typically mild-mannered man, might not be able to deal with him.
Chances were high that Chu Yelin, dealing with injuries, couldn’t handle the situation either.
She couldn’t shake the worry!
"Hey, Lin Qian..."
Gu Yan clutched her stomach and watched as Lin Qian dashed upstairs without a backward glance, her pain intensifying.
Something under her seemed to be slowly leaking, accompanied by a metallic smell.
Gu Yan’s face turned deathly pale. Glancing down inadvertently, she saw fresh blood slowly pooling beneath her thighs.
"I’m bleeding! I’m bleeding!"
Gu Yan’s lips quivered, her eyes rolling back before she fainted on the spot.
Upstairs, Lin Qian followed the officers toward the commotion.
When she saw the tense standoff between three figures, her heart clenched harder.
At that moment, Lin Yi held the hunting rifle, its barrel aimed directly at Su Yu’an and Chu Yelin.
His chest heaved heavily, his countenance gray and bleak.
"Lin Yi, you’re surrounded! Drop your weapon!"
An officer called out to Lin Yi, inching closer alongside his team.
Lin Yi’s gaze darted around, resting on the officers tightening their circle around him. The despair on his face intensified.
His lips twitched, then he slowly began laughing. Quietly at first, then louder until his laughter turned manic.
As he laughed, tears suddenly streamed down his face, as if he’d descended into madness.
Finally, he slowly raised his hand. The officers warned him urgently to stay alert as he pointed the rifle at his own temple.
Another loud bang rang out, and Lin Yi collapsed to the ground.
Lin Qian crouched down, clutching her head, dazed as Lin Yi’s body lay flat on the floor. Her mind raced.
Was Lin Yi dead?
Had he really committed suicide?
Was this man truly here today determined to die?
She had no words.
All she knew was this man was nothing but a coward.
For what? Just a few setbacks?
To choose this method to end it all.
He wasn’t afraid of dying, so why was he afraid to live?
Lin Qian pressed her lips tightly together. Lost in thought, she suddenly saw Chu Yelin’s figure sway before his body collapsed to the floor.
"Chu Yelin!"
Lin Qian gasped in shock. Her almond-shaped eyes widened as she ran forward, only to see Chu Yelin’s lifeless eyes shut, his ghostly face pale, and his chest soaked with the blood staining his whole shirt front.
