Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Do You Want to Go Back with Me?
For several days, Lin Qian stayed home, waiting for her annual leave to end.
Xu Xinyi had moved out, and each morning and evening, Chu Yelin would pick up and drop off the two kids at school.
The days were peaceful—so calm that it felt surreal.
Almost as though she and Yin Moran had never crossed paths.
Only the pain lingering in her heart reminded her vividly that she had once been hurt because of a man.
When her annual leave finally ended, she pulled herself together and prepared to return to work.
Early in the morning, Chu Yelin arrived as usual to take the two kids to school.
"Good morning."
Lin Qian, dressed up, greeted Chu Yelin at the door with a slight smile and motioned for him to come inside.
These past few days, Chu Yelin had taken to having breakfast in her apartment.
Seeing the delight on the kids’ faces, she didn’t bother to object.
She let Chu Yelin push his limits—from freeloading breakfast to staying for dinner.
Though he freeloaded meals, he remained gentlemanly and refrained from crossing boundaries.
And somehow, her resistance to him seemed to be gradually fading away.
"Good morning."
Chu Yelin looked lively and sharp, his gaze briefly lighting up as he took in Lin Qian’s carefully curated appearance.
Lin Qian’s skin was naturally fair, but today, with a touch of makeup, it looked even smoother, like a peeled egg.
She wore a light green casual-knit sweater paired with slim black pants.
Despite the simplicity of the outfit, it radiated youthful energy.
She didn’t look like the mother of two children—more like a recent college graduate.
"Qianqian, you look beautiful today. Heading out?"
Lin Qian turned and smiled at his words. "Yes, today’s my first day back at work—got to look energized."
Back to work?
Chu Yelin raised an eyebrow, the smile in his eyes deepening.
He admired her in this moment!
Vibrant and spirited, no longer the somber and sorrowful Lin Daiyu she once was.
"Daddy, morning."
"Daddy, come have breakfast."
The two little boys greeted Chu Yelin from the dining table, their identical dark eyes sparkling like stars.
Both had the same thought—Mommy was gradually accepting Daddy. The day of their family reunion wasn’t far off!
"Alright."
Chu Yelin replied warmly, striding to the dining table in a buoyant mood.
The sunny weather outside, the children nearby, and Lin Qian—all of it made the tranquility of this life feel so precious.
He wished it could last forever.
After breakfast, Lin Qian asked Chu Yelin to take the boys to school, planning to catch a cab to work herself.
"Qianqian, no need to trouble yourself. I’m heading the same way. Let’s go together."
Chu Yelin held the car door open, looking at Lin Qian.
Lin Qian hesitated and said nothing.
Beside her, Chu Ziyang tugged at her hand. "Mommy, get in. Daddy’s going to work too, so let him take you. You haven’t personally taken me and Zirui to school for days now. Zirui’s going to leave home soon—you won’t get this chance again."
"Yeah, what Ziyang said is right. Mommy, get in."
On the other side, Lin Zirui nodded in agreement, pulling her toward the back seat.
Lin Qian smiled faintly and stopped resisting, giving in to the two boys’ wishes.
As the three of them settled into the car, the curve of Chu Yelin’s lips grew even wider.
These two little ones were truly strong allies!
The car drove forward smoothly, and when they reached the kindergarten entrance, Lin Qian handed the boys over and watched them go inside.
Returning to the car, she spotted a familiar vehicle parked a little ways ahead.
Her heart skipped a beat—it was a car from the Yin Family.
Was Yin Moran here to drop off Candy at school?
Lin Qian bit her lip lightly, her almond-shaped eyes fixed on the car outside. She couldn’t tell what she was hoping for.
Since she was discharged from the hospital, Yin Moran hadn’t reached out to her.
She didn’t want to run into him—didn’t want her painstakingly stabilized emotions to be disrupted again, though claiming she had fully forgotten him would be a lie.
She had thought he might reach out again, but contrary to her expectations...
So heartless.
This was for the best anyway—it spared her the pain of seeing him.
Lin Qian let out a self-deprecating smile, watching the driver’s side door of the car open. Han Chen stepped out.
It wasn’t Yin Moran delivering Candy; it was Han Chen.
He didn’t come?
Lin Qian pressed her lips together, unsure how she felt.
Forget it—whether he came or not, what did it matter to her?
Lin Qian glanced at Candy, who Han Chen was holding by the hand. The girl looked deflated, and Lin Qian’s heart ached slightly.
She quickly looked away, determined not to let her emotions swing.
Chu Yelin started the car, clearly having seen Han Chen and Candy as well.
A cold smile flickered across his lips.
He knew for certain that Yin Moran was away on a business trip.
The Yins were facing troubles with several projects.
This... was entirely the doing of the Yin Family’s second branch.
Yin Moran—he’d said it himself—would end up with nothing!
The car veered around a corner and sped off.
At the mall’s underground parking lot, Lin Qian unbuckled her seatbelt, preparing to get out, but Chu Yelin grabbed her hand.
"Wait."
Lin Qian’s gaze landed on his knuckles and fingers, her eyes flickering slightly as she moved her hand to withdraw it.
"Is there something else?"
She still wasn’t ready to accept much physical closeness with him.
Keeping a respectful distance felt safer.
"Qianqian, in a few days, I’ll be returning to headquarters. Do you... want to come with me?"
Chu Yelin’s eyes softened, his hand lingering with the sensation of her delicate skin.
Go to F Country with him?
Lin Qian furrowed her brows slightly, instinctively on the verge of rejecting him.
But before she could speak, Chu Yelin continued, "Qianqian, I know you still haven’t completely let go of your reservations about me. But I genuinely hope you’ll give me a chance. For the sake of the kids, could you consider giving us a shot?"
He paused before adding, "The kids are growing so fast. I truly want to give them a joyful and harmonious childhood, to let them feel the warmth of a family every day. Qianqian, I’m not asking you to be with me right away, and I’m not going to force you. I just think if we came together, their smiles would brighten even more."
His words stirred Lin Qian’s emotions again.
Should she agree?
Should she try being with him?
He said it was for the kids... but was her heart ready for the sake of the kids?
In her mind, the expressions of her two sons from recent days flashed by.
Their smiles had grown noticeably broader.
They yearned for their father’s presence.
So...
Lin Qian unconsciously clenched the strap of her bag, a tall figure flickering through her thoughts.
She swiftly shoved the unwelcome memory aside, lowering her gaze slightly to respond in a soft voice, "I’ll think about it."
Why was she still thinking about that man?
He had already chosen to be with Qiao Xiya, hadn’t he?
From now on, their paths should diverge entirely!
"Alright, Qianqian, I’ll wait for your reply!"
She had agreed to consider!
Patience truly pays off!
All his careful maneuvering wasn’t in vain!
Watching her hurry into the elevator, Chu Yelin’s lips curled into a smile.
