Chapter 178: Chapter 178 Who Do You Want to Protect You?
"Zirui!"
Candy’s smiling face stiffened as she watched Lin Zirui walk away, her lips pouting.
Zirui was ignoring her again!
He must still be angry.
Angry about what happened at the party last night.
All those guests were invited by their family, and he must blame them for letting Mommy be wronged.
Beside them, Yin Moran slightly squinted his deep eyes and took Candy’s hand, striding toward the dining room.
Lin Qian did not hear the conversation and looked up as the group entered, seeing everyone’s unpleasant expressions, her smile slightly fading.
What happened?
Her gaze shifted toward Candy pouting unhappily, and Lin Qian walked over to lift her onto the chair, "Candy, why are you unhappy?"
Candy leaned against Lin Qian’s chest, looking woefully at Chu Ziyang, "Mommy, Zirui is ignoring me again."
Her pitiful, milky voice softened and made one feel compassionate.
Lin Qian glanced at Chu Ziyang who sat down silently, his head slightly bowed, her brow furrowing.
"Zirui, you..."
"Mommy, can we have breakfast? I want to eat the purple sweet potato pancakes you made."
Chu Ziyang interrupted Lin Qian, his dark eyes looking at her.
Lin Qian’s lips pursed slightly, somewhat having an idea.
Perhaps it was because of Yin Moran, causing him to keep a distance from Candy as well?
This child, really is...
Lin Qian didn’t know what to say for a moment, handed him a glass of milk, and pushed a plate of purple sweet potato pancakes toward him.
Chu Ziyang didn’t speak further, just drank his milk and ate his breakfast.
The atmosphere wasn’t great, Lin Qian took care of Candy, her eyes unconsciously turning to Yin Moran sitting quietly, a hint of helpless apology flashing in her eyes.
How could she resolve this situation?
Who would have thought her own son would be against her seeing him?
Yin Moran didn’t speak, elegantly ate his breakfast, his gaze sweeping toward Chu Ziyang if casually.
Why had he suddenly started to reject him?
It seemed necessary to have a conversation with him soon.
"Zirui, this is really good, you try it."
Candy placed a shrimp dumpling into Chu Ziyang’s bowl, her big watery eyes looking at him.
Chu Ziyang paused in his drinking, intending to ignore her, but his eyes involuntarily glanced at Candy.
Her big watery eyes, like the newborn kitten he had once seen.
Such a pitiful sight.
Chu Ziyang’s grip on his milk glass tightened.
Slowly, his chopsticks reached for the purple sweet potato pancakes, grabbing one and placing it on Candy’s plate in front of her.
While he could not like her, she was a guest.
He couldn’t be impolite.
This action instantly excited Candy.
"Zirui..."
"Mommy, I’m full, I’m going to the restroom."
Chu Ziyang, feeling uncomfortable, his ears turning slightly hot, slid off the chair and scurried toward the restroom.
This behavior, really so awkward.
Lin Qian laughed silently, shaking her head helplessly.
"Mommy, is Zirui still angry? Angry about what happened at the party yesterday?"
Candy looked at Lin Qian, asking in her childish voice.
Lin Qian was taken aback, unsure of how to explain.
"Yes, it is Daddy’s fault for not handling the matter well, his anger is justified."
Yin Moran elegantly wiped his mouth, rubbed Candy’s soft hair, and stood up, "I will go talk to him."
As she watched the tall figure of the man heading toward the restroom, Lin Qian opened her mouth but ultimately did not say anything.
She hadn’t relayed what her son had told her last night.
Her son wanted to find his biological father.
It was obvious that he didn’t want Lin Qian to continue interacting with Yin Moran.
She didn’t know how to handle this kind of situation either.
In the restroom, Chu Ziyang had just finished urinating when the door was pushed open.
Yin Moran’s tall figure appeared at the doorway.
Chu Ziyang furrowed his brow tightly, glaring at Yin Moran with discontent.
Yin Moran didn’t speak either; he just stepped forward and looked down at him.
The man was very tall, as tall as his father, requiring him to look up.
Chu Ziyang’s lips were tightly pursed as he stared straight at him.
Their gazes met in midair, one calm, the other vigilant.
Was this kid more composed than before?
Yin Moran raised his eyebrows slightly and slowly crouched down to his level.
"Tell me, why have you suddenly started to reject me? Don’t you want me to protect you and your mom in the future?"
His attitude had changed suddenly, so he needed to know the boy’s real thoughts.
"I and my mommy don’t need your protection. Someone will protect us in the future."
Chu Ziyang stared into Yin Moran’s eyes as he spoke.
"Someone will protect you in the future? Zirui, who do you want to protect you?"
He realized it—the kid had a backup dad in his heart.
Who is it!
"My biological father."
Chu Ziyang stated emphatically, causing Yin Moran’s eyes to narrow sharply, his aura becoming instantly fierce.
"Biological father? Have you found him?"
Could it be that the kid had encountered his biological father on a trip out?
Just yesterday, he was still suspecting that he himself was the biological father.
Chu Ziyang’s eyes shifted slightly, and he stammered, "My mommy and I will find him eventually."
He couldn’t let him know about his father yet.
Everything would wait till his father came.
So, this kid hasn’t found his biological father?
Yin Moran curled his lips slightly, "Brat, is this why you’re rejecting me? What if, I am your biological father?"
"Impossible!"
He had a father!
It couldn’t be him!
Chu Ziyang retorted without thinking.
Yin Moran looked at Chu Ziyang’s resolute expression, thinking it was because of that DNA report.
After all, he had personally gone to have it done.
But what if that DNA report was wrong?
Yin Moran’s eyes flickered slightly as he reached up and plucked two hairs from the boy’s head.
"Ouch! Why did you pull my hair?"
Chu Ziyang let out a hiss, scratching his scalp, his brow furrowed.
Yin Moran did not speak, just stood up, took two tissues, and wrapped the hair.
Chu Ziyang frowned, blinking his big eyes, and began to understand.
"You suspect I am your son? So you took my hair for a DNA test?"
Yin Moran placed the tissue in his pocket, glancing at Chu Ziyang noncommittally.
"Hmph, my dad will never be you; you’re just dreaming."
He had a biological father!
The tall uncle was bound to be disappointed.
"So, you really don’t want me to be your dad?"
Yin Moran looked down at the little guy rejecting him, his lips slightly parted, "You really want your biological father to protect you and your mommy? You seem to have forgotten, who it was that hurt your mommy four years ago."
He needed to give the little guy a warning.
In case the biological father was someone else, he wanted him to remember the harm that bastard had caused Lin Qian!
Don’t forgive him lightly!
